The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen -
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 78
Jemma’s POV
After I had spoken to my children’s wolves I was waiting eagerly for their help to get me out of this hellhole. The dose of the poison had been increased in my food. The rogue who brought my food told me I was about to die. Felix was bringing in a doctor to cut the pups out of me and he didn’t care if I lived or not.
Jeremy had brought Nicky to see me and I was distressed by the bruises on my pup’s face and arms. He refused to tell me how he got them but he kept looking at Jeremy with fear and it broke my heart. Despite everything, Jeremy had never hit our pup. But I decided he was no longer the Jeremy I had once loved.
I lay on the bed and wished I knew if it was dark outside or not. Dinner had been brought to me and I choked it down as usual. The guard slammed the door and I sat on the bed. I placed my hand on my belly and couldn’t sense my pups anymore. I was alarmed. Oh, Goddess. Please let them be alright.”
‘We are fine, Mother,’ Aurora’s voice sounded in my head. Relief washed over me. ‘Leonora is surrounding our human bodies to keep them safe when we awaken tonight. Now, I will be the one to allow you to partially shift. Xerxes is giving me some of his strength. He will also be guiding our father here.’
My heart swelled at hearing that. I couldn’t wait to see my Cassius again. I missed being in his arms so much. Tears fell out of my eyes.
‘Please don’t cry mother,’ Aurora whined.
‘I’m sorry. Just you mentioned your father and I miss him so much.’ I said to her.
‘It won’t be much longer now. We are almost at full strength but I must warn you. The Goddess told us it’s only temporary. We will be with you and father long enough for you to get out of this prison and for you to reunite. She said the rest will be up to you two.’ Aurora explained to me.
I nodded. ‘Got it. I have faith that your father will bring most of his warriors to fight. And my father will no doubt lend the strength of his warriors.’
‘That is good to know. I must rest now.’
I smiled. ‘Rest my girl. I will be waiting.’ The door of the cell slammed open and I was still smiling. Felix walked in and c****d his head to the side.
“What are you smiling about?”
My smile fell and I glared at him and said nothing.
“It’s rude not to answer questions, your majesty.” He stood in front of me.
“It’s also rude to imprison a pregnant woman and force feed her poison meant to kill her babies.”
He shrugged. “It’s nothing personal. You three are just in my way.”
I snorted. “It sounds very personal you dolt.”
“Anyways, your time here is almost up.”
“I know. Smelly rogue told me you are having them cut out of me.” I rolled my eyes.
“You don’t sound the least bit concerned. Will you be relieved?”
My eyes narrowed. “Of course not. But your movie villain plot is so predictable.”
A sinister laugh came out of him. “You think this a movie plot?” He folded his arms. “Trust me, sweetheart. I am not the villain. My cousin is.”
“Right,” I replied to him.
“If you live through the procedure then you and your pup will be free to go with Jeremy anywhere you want.”
“I’ll kill Jeremy the first chance I get.”
He shrugged. “I honestly don’t care.” He started towards the door. “You have an hour before the doctor gets here. You should say goodbye to your pups.” He then walked out of the cell.
I sneered at the door. ‘Think again a*****e.’ I lay on the bed to rest until my pups were ready to get the f**k out of here. My eyes closed and I dreamt of them running in the field of daisies again. We were always in a field of daisies, I thought. Was there something significant about that? They stop playing and looked at me. ‘It’s time mother.’ Aurora spoke to me. My eyes opened and I sat up on the bed. The cell seemed to be glowing as I felt a surge of power within my body.
‘The strength will be mine. But you will be in control.’ Aurora explained.
‘Luckily, I know what to do, my girl.’ I smiled as I stood up and felt my body transforming. I felt my hands turn into claws as my nose extended into a muzzle. White fur grew all over my body but I still stood upright. I felt my senses get stronger. I growled like a feral wolf as I looked at the iron door of the cell. Smirking I kicked it with all my might and it flew off the rusty hinges. The dust cleared and I spotted Jeremy coming down the hall. I felt an increase of rage as I stalked towards him. Three rogues brushed past him. In a blink of an eye, I dispatched them and ripped their throats out. My clawed hands dripped with their b***d as I looked at Jeremy. I felt his fear but I did not care. He needed to die for his crimes. I slashed my claws at his face and watched the b***d trickle down. I raised my arm to strike him again and he held up his hands in defense.
“Wait!” He shouted at me and for a brief moment, I saw the old Jeremy.
I swung my arm and slashed his arms. “You deserve to die.”
“I realize that.” He replied. “But I also know where our son is and I know the way out of here. It’s a confusing maze to someone who doesn’t.”
My eyes narrowed at him. I was hesitant to trust him. But I honestly did not know how to get out and Aurora said her help was only temporary. “Fine. Lead the way.” I snarled at him. “But if this is a trick I will rip your f*****g throat out.”
“Deal.” He responded as more rogues rushed towards us. I took the lead and easily took them out. My white fur becoming more and more covered in b***d as we met more rogues in the hall. I heard crying coming from a room and Jeremy pointed at the door. “Nick is in ther-“
I pushed the door open with my clawed foot and heard my pup yelp and start crying. He was curled up on a dirty bed with his face buried in his hands. I could smell how dirty he was. I glared at Jeremy as I walked into the cell. His blue eyes looked at me with fear. I knelt in front of the bed. “Nicky, “I said in my regular voice. “Nicky, it’s Mommy.” I held my arms out to him.
“Mommy!” He cried and leapt into my arms. I picked him up as I heard shouts from the rogues. I sighed and looked at Jeremy. “Will you carry him out as I fight my way through the rogues.”
Jeremy nodded and held his arms out. I started to give him Nicky but my pup held on tight. “Nicky.”
“No, he will hurt me.” Nicky cried.
“Baby, I have to get us out of here. I swear he won’t hurt you.” I said to my trembling pups. I could hear the footsteps getting closer. “We have to get out of here.”
With a loud cry from my pup, Jeremy took him from my arms. Nicky cried and struggled. “Nick, I won’t hurt you. I swear.” Jeremy pleaded with him as rogues rushed into the cell.
“Stay behind me,” I ordered Jeremy as I began to fight my way through the rogues. B***d splattered everywhere as easily took them out. I glanced back to see Nicky had his face buried in Jeremy’s shoulder.
“This way.” Jeremy pointed as the hall opened up into a large room. There was a desk and some old couches with a large old TV. “This is the common room.” He said as the rogues kept pouring in. He set Nick down and helped me fight some of them off. I had forgotten how good of a fighter he was.
Nicky watched the c*****e quietly and kept close to us. I hated for my pup to see this but he is a werewolf. Violence is in our nature. I picked him up and followed Jeremy as we ran out of the compound. It was like a slap in the face feeling wind on my face and seeing the full moon brightening the woods around us. I had no idea where we were. II looked back at the low-setting building. It was like most dungeons but nothing else around us. I set Nicky down again as the rogues surrounded us. Where did Felix get so many? I wondered as I fought through them with Jeremy at my side. I felt my strength starting to wane.
‘Aurora, are you leaving me already?’
‘I can’t sustain the power much longer, Mother. Xerxes is guiding father here so it’s just me. I am sorry.’
My claws turned back into fingers as I felt the power leaving me. ‘You have to hang on, Aurora.’ I said as I watched Jeremy fall to his knees while taking on two large rogues. He was bleeding profusely from multiple wounds. I started towards him.
“Just go, Jemma!” He shouted to me. “I got this.” He said as he stood up again. “I love you, Jemma.”
I fought off a few more rogues as Jeremy shifted into his silver wolf. More rogues surrounded him and I picked up Nicky and took one more look at him before running into the woods not knowing where I was going. ‘Cassius!’ I shouted in the mindlink.
‘Jemma!’ My heart swelled when he replied.
‘Mother, just keep running in the direction you are going,’ Xerxes responded. I heard the rogues coming after us. The trees thinned as I reached a clearing and saw a legion of royal warriors lined up and in the center, he stood there ready to fight in only shorts. I suddenly felt all of the strength in my body leave and I had to set Nicky down before falling to my knees.
“JEMMA!” Cassius shouted as he ran towards me with my father and brother beside him. My vision started to go black. I felt his arms around me as I was picked up. His blue eyes shone into mine. “Oh, Jemma.” He cried as my body went limp.
‘The pups are alright Jemma.’ Leonora’s voice said to me for the first time in a week.
“The pups are alright,” I said to Cassius as he held me tight. He kissed me and then I heard howls and the sounds of fighting. I wanted to help in the fight but I didn’t have the strength. My eyes started to close as Cassius passed me to another set of arms. I recognized the scent of my brother. Leonora made a whimper in my head as she was reunited with her twin. I felt a little strength surge through me.
“Get them to safety!” I heard Cassius order my brother. “Go with your uncle, Nick.”
“No!” I said as I opened my eyes. “I need to help Cassius.” I struggled weakly.
“You are in no condition to fight, Jemma.” My brother growled as he ran in the opposite direction of the fighting.
I heard Cassius roar loudly as I felt my body betray me. Iain held me tight as I faded into the darkness.
