The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 80

Jemma’s POV

The sun shined through the tree illuminating the daisies my family frolicked through. The wind making them waved side to side as the laughter of my children filled the area. Cassius stood on the other side of the field watching the twins and Nicky playing. His ocean blue eyes looked into mine and it was like time stood still as we ran to each other and wrapped our arms around the other. The closeness of him was so real. We held each other tightly as the pups ran happily around us. Our lips touched and the sparks of our union made my knees weak. I had thirsted to be held by him for so long. But this was only a dream. I was still in prison. I felt my shirt being tugged and pulled away from Cassius to looked down upon my blonde-haired daughter. Her eyes were violet-colored like mine. She held up a daisy to me. I smiled and took it from her and then squatted down to hug her. My sons soon joined and I was on the ground being hugged by my children. Then they giggled and ran off through the field turning into their wolf forms. At the edge of the field, a white wolf stood beside a black one. The pups circled the adult wolves before they all took off.

Cassius and I watched them run off then we embraced again. The daisy was still in my hand as I looked it over. I looked up at Cassius. “I think I know what I want to name our daughter,” I said to him as the dream faded from me.

For a moment I was just lying with my eyes closed as I heard the beeping of machines around me. I did feel the sparks coming from my hand as I opened my eyes. I was in the royal hospital. I turned my head to see Cassius on a bed beside mine. My eyes were looking into his as a soft smile spread onto his face. I looked down to see we were holding hands. I couldn’t help the tears that rushed out of my eyes.

“Hi.” He whispered to me.

“Hi,” I replied to him. He tried pulling me towards him as our beds were nearly touching but the movement caused the machines I was hooked up to, to start beeping. Angela and a couple of nurses rushed into the room.

She sighed. “Oh thank the Goddess you are both awake.” She stood at the end of our beds. “You two gave us all quite a scare.”

A moment later my parents and his parents rushed into the room. My parents rushed to my side. My mother was kissing my cheek as my father clasped my other hand. “Oh, Jemma. We were so scared we lost you.”

Izzy was doing the same thing to Cassius as his father just patted his shoulder.

“Hi Mom, Dad. I missed you guys.” I said to them as my brother walked in. He looked tired. “How long were we out?” I asked as the memories of the prior events flooded into my mind.

“Five days,” Terry replied from Cassius’s side.

I glanced at Cassius. “Five days.”

“Well, you two were both severely injured. Your wolves had to work overtime to heal you both. Though Jemma had a boost from her brother’s presence.” Angela explained.

“Iain, you were here with us?” I asked my twin.

He nodded. “Leopold wouldn’t let me leave Leonora for long.”

“My dear sweet brother. How can I ever thank you?”

He shrugged. “I don’t know. But I’ll think of something.”

We all laughed. I looked at my mother. “Where is Nicky?”

“With Liz. She has been taking care of him.” She replied. “Poor Liz. She is so distraught from losing both her son and mate in the same week.” My mother shook her head. “Taking care of Nick seems to be helping her cope.”

“Jeremy is dead?” I asked. I hadn’t seen him die. The last I had seen him he was fighting off rogues as I ran into the woods with Nicky in my arms.

Cassius squeezed my hand and I glanced at him. “Jeremy pushed me out of the way when Felix shot silver bullets at me. He got shot in the chest and I was with him when he died.”

“Are you sure he died?” My father asked Cassius.

Cassius snorted. “Oh yeah, Phil. I stood there and watched him take his last breath. Why?”

“Because when we went back to clean up. I looked for his body because my beta female wants to bury her son. We didn’t replace his body.”

Cassius’s eyes narrowed. “Really?”

My father nodded. “Yeah.”

A chill went down my spine. “So either scavengers made off with his body or he somehow lived,” I said.

“No, I’m telling you he was dead,” Cassius responded. “There was no way he could have lived through getting shot with silver bullets.”

“We believe you, son,” Terry interjected.

I squeezed his hand and he calmed down. “I don’t think Jeremy will be a problem anymore, Cass.”

He sighed. “I hope you are right Jemma.”

Angela clapped her hands. “Alright. Everyone needs to leave so I can examine these two.”

There were g****s from our families as they all filed out. I looked at Angela as she and her nurses gave us each quick exam. “You two are both fine. The pups appear to be doing fine also. I’ll let you both out tomorrow morning.” She smiled at us.

“Thanks, Ange. Can we maybe get the big bed so I can hold my mate?” Cassius asked her.

She rolled her eyes. “If you insist.” She smirked and patted his arm. “I’ll get right on it. Hold tight.”

Ten minutes later the machines had been unhooked and we were lying in a large hospital bed in each other’s arms. My head rested on Cassius’s chest. One of his hands was resting on my belly. “I can’t believe you are here in my arms.” He said quietly. “I nearly gave up hope.”

“So did I,” I responded to him. “I can’t believe the Goddess awoke our children’s wolves like that.”

“She only does things like that in extreme situations for her favorite children.” Cassius smiled at me as he placed a light k**s on the top of my head.

“She said we and our pups were very important to her. I wonder what she means by it.”

He held me tighter to him. “Who knows that the future holds, Jemma. I just thank her every single day that you are my future. I could not ask for a better mate. You are everything I ever wanted and more.”

Tears flooded my eyes as he spoke. In the beginning, I had resisted being his mate. But he was everything I wanted. “The Goddess must have known how deep our bond would be when she paired us together.” I looked up at him. “I know I’m not the easiest woman to love. But I couldn’t love anyone more than I love you, Cassius.”

He smiled as he slid his hand down my cheek wiping away the tears. He kissed my lips and our eyes closed. We held the k**s for a minute before pulling back to just look each other in the eyes. He leaned his forehead against mine. “What is it you wanted to name our daughter?”

I c****d my head. “What?”

“In the dream. You said you knew what you wanted to name our daughter.”

“Wait you were there. I mean you were there but you had the same dream?”

He chuckled lightly. “Yes. Now tell me the name because I have a feeling I am thinking of the same one.”

“Then let’s say it together.”

He nodded. “Okay.”

“Daisy.” We said at the same time and laughed.

I patted my belly and felt the presence of my pups. “Daisy,” I repeated. His deep blue eyes met with my violet ones.

“Our son needs a name too. But I can’t think of one.”

I held his hand on my belly. “We have time for that. I hope he doesn’t mind that we figured out his sister’s name already.”

There was a knock on the door as my mother poked her head in the door. “I know the doctor told us that you two needed rest. But there is someone here that is insisting on seeing-” She didn’t finish as Nicky ran into the room and jumped onto the foot of the bed.

“Mommy, Daddy.” He squealed.

“Hi, Baby,” I said to him. Cassius and I parted slightly so he could lay between us. He snuggled against Cassius’s chest as I stroked his arm. “Thanks, Mom.”

“I’ll leave you guys for a few moments of family time.” She smiled and walked out of the room.

“How are you doing baby?” I asked my son.

He shrugged and didn’t say anything.

“Daddy and I will be getting out of here tomorrow and then we’ll have a big family only day. Alright?”

“Like a big picnic in the park with the carousel,” Cassius added. “I think my father can handle the kingdom at least one more day.”

I laughed. “What and miss his beloved golf?”

“I want to go to the zoo.” Nicky smiled at me.

“We’ll see about that. We are all recovering and need to take it slow.”

He nodded as his little eyes began to close. “I’m tired.”

Cassius held him tight. “Then sleep, my son.” He kissed the top of Nicky’s head.

Nicky sighed and looked at him. “You are my Daddy from now on. Since my first Daddy died.”

Cassius c****d his head to the side. “You know your real Dad died?”

Nicky nodded. “Yes. Rex came to say goodbye to Lasher and me.”

“Your father Jeremy loved you, Nick,” Cassius explained to my son. “And for now on I am your father. You are my son.”

“I love you, Daddy,” Nicky said as tears fell from my eyes. Cassius hugged Nick and kissed the top of his head again.

“I love you too, Nicholas.”

Nicky’s little eyes fluttered in fatigue and he was soon sleeping soundly on Cassius’s chest. I snuggled closer to them. I couldn’t be happier at this moment than I was now. It wasn’t long before Cassius and I fell asleep.
