The Alpha King's Rebellious Queen
The Alpha King’s Rebellious Queen Chapter 95

Jemma’s POV

I stood in front of the mirror in my old room. I had finished getting ready for my little sister’s birthday party. I was wearing a lavender dress that hung to my ankles. It wasn’t fancy, but it was comfortable and fit my body nicely and not too tight around my belly. Cassius stepped out of the bathroom wearing a pair of dark blue jeans and a dark red button-up shirt. His brown hair was slicked back, and I couldn’t help but stare.

He smiled at me and walked over to me. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my lips. “You are drooling, love.”

“That’s because you are delicious, my King.”

He laughed and kissed me again. “Eww!” We were interrupted by Nicky standing a few feet away watching us. He had been playing with his cars while I was getting dressed.

Cassius released me and stalked over to Nicky and picked him up, and my son giggled while kicking his little legs. “What are you doing, you little rascal?”

Nicky just kept giggling wildly while his father tickled him. “Stop it, Daddy.” He laughed.

“Or what?” Cassius laughed along with him and blew raspberries on Nicky’s belly. My son was having a great time. There was a knock on the door.

I answered it, and my brother was standing there with Esther. “Come on, Sis. The party is starting, and Mom wants us all there now.” Iain explained.

“Okay, Iain, we’ll be right down,” I replied to my brother. “You look nice, Esther,” I told my brother’s mate.

She was wearing black jeans and a flowery blouse, and her brown hair was braided and slung on her shoulder. Her brown eyes sparkled as she held onto my brother. “Thank you, Jemma. You look nice too,” She smiled as she and my brother walked away.

I looked back at Cassius, and he had Nicky on his shoulders. “Are you two clowns ready to go?”

“After you, babe.” He smirked.

I picked up Tiffany’s gifts, and we walked out of my old room and down the hall. Cassius kept having to duck the ceiling to keep Nicky from hitting his head. My son was still giggling his little head off when we reached the ground floor of the packhouse. The common room was quiet as we entered. We walked out of the packhouse and went to the garden. My parents and siblings were waiting beside the stage that had been set up.

“Don’t you look elegant, Jemma,” My mother smiled at me.

I hugged her. “Thanks, Mom.”

“Put the gifts over there on the table,” She pointed to a table stacked with gifts for Tiffany.

I smiled at my sister. She was wearing a short pink baby doll dress. Her blonde hair was in a tight slick ponytail. Today she no longer looked like my little sister but an elegant woman. I set her gifts on the table and waddled back towards my family.

My father took a deep breath and clapped his hands. “Let’s get this shindig started,” He said and walked onto the stage with my mother at his side. The assembled pack members immediately quieted down and looked at their alpha and luna. “Good evening Zephyr Moon Pack. It makes me happy to see you all here to help us celebrate the eighteenth birthday of my youngest child,” He gestured to Tiffany, and she walked onto the stage and clasped our father’s hand. “Tiffany Nicole MacKenzie. You have grown into a beautiful, graceful woman. You make me proud to be your father.” My sister smiled at him, and he looked at the pack. “Let us rejoice and enjoy this beautiful party your Luna has planned.” The pack clapped, and they walked off the stage, and the DJ started up the music.

I had to refrain from cringing at the pop music that poured out of the speakers. I hugged my sister again then she disappeared into the crowd to greet her friends. I smelled the delicious food set up buffet style. Cassius and I found a table, and he waited with Nicky while I went to get plates. There were lots of kid-friendly finger foods for Nicky. While I got myself some steak tips and potatoes with some fried chicken and other things for myself. After I sat down, Cassius went to get his food. I dug in. A moment later, Iain and Esther stood in front of the table. “Can we sit with you guys?” Esther asked.

“Of course you can,” I replied, and she and Iain sat. Esther only had a few things on her plate while Iain mainly had meat on his.

Esther looked at my large amount of food. “Wow, that’s a lot of food.”

I nodded. “Yeah, growing twin royal alphas take a lot of food.”

She laughed and looked at Iain. “I can’t wait till Iain, and I have pups of our own.” My brother stiffened.

“There is no rush for that, dear.” He said to her.

Cassius returned to the table with a big plate and a bottle of beer. “Hey, Iain, Esther.” He nodded at them.

“Iain, do you not want pups of your own?” I asked my brother.

“It’s not that, Jemma. It’s just I don’t see the need to rush into it. I am only twenty, and I already have an heir,” He nodded at Nicky, and he looked at Esther with loving eyes. “I think I want to settle into being alpha first before we start trying for our pups,” Iain eyed me. “Not all of us feel the need to rush right into having pups.”

I glared at him. “I wanted to wait too, but-” I trailed off and looked at Cassius. I didn’t know if I could tell my brother why we had to have pups right away.

Cassius nodded at me seeming to get what I was thinking. “There is a little known law that says I have to have an heir by the time I turn twenty-five, or I lose the crown,” He explained.

Iain’s eyes widened. “How come we have never heard that?”

“It’s not knowledge that is commonly known outside the royal family,” Cassius said while sipping his beer.

“And you just told us,” Esther chuckled nervously. “Won’t you get in trouble for that?”

Cassius snorted, “Sweetheart, I am the king. There is no one I answer to.”

“Except the elders.”

“I can still override their decisions,” Cassius retorted.

“Who would the crown pass to if you lost it?” Esther asked.

I looked at Cassius as he thought for a second. “Well, before I ripped his head off, it would have gone to my cousin Felix. But now I honestly don’t know.” He shrugged. “Perhaps his son that he supposedly has. But he is an infant.”

“But we don’t worry have to worry about that,” I interjected. “We have two heirs on the way.” I smiled as Cassius touched my belly, causing the twins to start kicking. I winced. “Ugh, they sure love kicking when you touch my belly.”

He pulled his hand away. “Sorry, love.”

“They just recognize their father already,” I smiled at him.

I sighed as I now had to run to the ladies’ room to empty my bladder. “I’ll be right back, guys. Cassius’s pups are using my bladder for a plaything.” I struggled to get up. Cassius helped me to my feet, and then I waddled away.

I went into the packhouse and the common room bathroom. After relieving myself, I walked out into the common room, thinking it was empty, but there was Rosalind and her slut posse. They were talking in hushed tones and stopped when they spied me.

“Hello, ladies,” I said to them with a fake smirk. “Enjoying the party.”

Rosalind flicked her hair. “It’s boring,” She sneered. “It would be better if Paul wasn’t locked up.”

“Why would you care anyway? He said you two broke up.”

She folded her arms, “Whatever. If you hadn’t tricked him, then he would be with me tonight, not locked up in the dungeon.”

I rolled my eyes at her. “Yes, I tricked him. That was entirely my plan to have him try to k**s me so I could have him locked up.” I snorted and started to walk away. “You are even more deluded than I thought, Rosalind.”

“f**k you, Jemma.” She shouted after me.

I turned to her and smirked. “That’s Queen Jemma to you,” I said in my Queen tone, causing Rosalind to stiffen and bare her neck to me. I then walked away, leaving her fuming while her friends snickered.

Outside I found Cassius standing by the dance floor with Iain. “Where is Nicky?”

“Oh, he is off playing with a cute little girl pup.”

I smirked. “Oh really? I think our son has a little crush.” I laughed and looked around for my son. I saw him sitting by a flower bed with the same little girl from earlier. Another she-wolf was standing nearby. I recognized her as an omega named Linda that worked in the kitchen.

She bowed her head to me. “Is that your little girl?” I asked her.

“Yes, your majesty.” She replied.

“Linda, we grew up together. You can just call me Jemma.”

“Sorry. Its habit being an omega and all,” She sighed. “My daughter seems to have taken a liking to your little boy. I hope that is alright?”

I shrugged. “It’s perfectly alright. I want my son to grow up treating everyone right. No matter their status. What is your daughter’s name?”

“April. Her father is out on border patrol right now.”

“Oh, cool. Who is her father, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“He is Erick Walters.”

I laughed. “Ah yes. I beat him up a few times in training. He is a good fighter, though.”

“I don’t mind watching your pup while you enjoy the party,” Linda offered.

“Oh, I hope that won’t be too much trouble,” I said to her. “I’ll be over there by Cassius if you need me.” I pointed to my mate, who was still talking to my brother.

She nodded. “Enjoy yourself.”

I shuffled back to my mate and looked out at the dance floor. My sister was dancing with her friends Ashley and Rachel. A few of the unmated warriors were eager to join them, but their alpha was on the opposite side of the dance floor, glaring at them with his arms folded.

A slow song came on, and Cassius clasped my hand. “Shall we dance, love?”

It wasn’t a song I liked, but I shrugged. “Sure,” I said to my mate. I saw Tiffany dancing with Lewis while my brother was with Esther. I leaned my head on Cassius’s shoulder as we moved slowly to the music. I relished the sparks I felt when our hands touched. “Do the sparks ever fade?” I mused.

“Not when the mates are madly in love with each other,” He replied next to my ear. “Or at least that’s what my dad told me.”

“Well, I am madly in love with you, Cassius Fury.”

He laughed softly. “And I am madly in love with you, Jemma Fury.” He touched his forehead to mine, and our eyes peered into each other.

The song ended, and we just stood there looking at each other, forgetting we were in the middle of the dance floor. The world disappeared as Cassius kissed me. My legs felt weak as he held me up. Our k**s deepened for a moment, and then I heard a throat clearing.

“Would the King and Queen mind getting off the dance floor so Tiffany can open her gifts?” My father said through the microphone.

Cassius growled lowly and looked at my father. I rolled my eyes. “Sorry, Daddy.”

We walked off the dance floor hand in hand as my mother placed a chair in the middle of the floor, and Tiffany sat down as several pack members carried the table with her gifts to the center. Tiffany squealed happily as she began to open her presents. I sat on Cassius’s lap on a chair on the edge of the dance floor. He held me tight as the omega Linda brought Nicky over to us.

“Thank you, Linda,” I said to her.

She bowed to Cassius and I. Nicky sat on the ground with April. “Is that your new friend, Nick?” Cassius asked him.

“She’s my girlfriend, Daddy.” Nicky proclaimed.

Linda was standing behind the pups and laughed. I indicated an empty chair beside Cassius and me. “You can sit down with us,” I told her.

She shook her head. “That wouldn’t be proper.”

“Linda, it’s okay. No need to be formal at a party.”

She sighed and sat on the chair. Cassius smiled at her. “My boy sure likes your little girl.”

Linda trembled slightly hearing the king talk to her. “Y-yes, your majesty.”

“No need to be nervous,” He said to her gently.

“S-sorry, I have never been this close to royalty before.”

He laughed. “We are just like everyone else.”

“I am just an omega. Basically, a nobody compared to the king.”

Cassius looked her over. “Nobody is nobody, omega.”

“Linda,” I said quietly in his ear.

“Linda,” He said to her. “Omegas are valued members of our society. I know you may not see it. But I see all of your efforts. That’s why I don’t tolerate the mistreatment of omegas. I don’t tolerate any of your being treated like slaves. Does Alpha MacKenzie treat you guys well?”

“Yes, your majesty,” Linda replied.

“Good to hear. I would hate to have to beat his a*s if he mistreated any of you,” He winked at Linda.

She blushed slightly and looked away from him.

I elbowed him. “You just like beating my father’s a*s no matter what.”

My sister was calling me from the floor. She held up the autographed photo of her favorite singer I had gotten for her. “Oh my Goddess, Jemma. How did you get Alicia to sign this?” She ran over to me.

Her favorite pop singer Alicia Ivy turned out to be a werewolf, so it didn’t take much to persuade her to autograph a picture for my sister. “She is a wolf, and Ainsley knows her, so I called her and asked for an autographed photo.”

Tiffany’s eyes lit up. “How does Ainsley know her?”

“They went to school together,” Cassius interjected.

“Wait, you know her too?” Tiffany said to him. “Oh my goddess, I need to meet her. She is my absolute favorite after Taylor Swift, of course.”

Cassius chuckled. “I’ll ask Ainsley about it. They still keep in touch as far as I know.”

Tiffany leaned down to k**s Cassius’s cheek. “You are the best brother-in-law.” She clapped and ran back to her seat.

“That didn’t bother you?” He asked me while rubbing his cheek.

“Nah. I’m not threatened by my sister kissing your cheek, Cass,” I told him and looked back out at my sister. She had opened the gift that Nicky had made for her at pupcare. It looked like a rock made of clay, but Nicky insisted that it was a pony.

“Nicky, this is such a pretty rock.”

Nicky ran over to his aunt. “It’s a pony, Auntie Tiffy.” He told her with a slight frown.

Tiffany leaned down to hug him. She had gotten a lot of jewelry and candy with some stuffed animals. Cassius had gotten her a cute stuffed rabbit. When she was done, she stood up. “Thank you, everyone, for my gifts. They are all great. I love you all.”

I stood up from Cassius’s lap and walked over to help my mother clean up the floor while the music started up again. The music then stopped abruptly as we heard howls coming from the woods. “Rogues!” My father warned in the microphone. “Melinda, get everyone to the safe room.” He told my mother.

There was quiet chaos as my mother stood up straight and started barking orders. My father ran over to Cassius with my brother. I was standing next to my sister and son when Cass came over. “There is a huge group of rogues heading this way. They have already taken out some of your father’s guards.”

I gulped, hoping that Erick wasn’t one of them. “Are you going to help my father?”

Cassius smirked. “Of course I am. Get in the safe room.” He leaned down to k**s me. I wanted to be out fighting for my pack, but I was not in any condition to do so. So my job was to help my mother keep those that couldn’t fight safe.

“Please be careful,” I said to him.

“I’ll be fine, love.” He said as he started unbuttoning his shirt. He ran over to my father, and then they ran off into the woods towards the howling.

I sighed and started helping my mother gather the omegas, pups, and other non-fighters. We got into a safe room, an underground bunker large enough to hold hundreds of people. I helped my mother close the door, and then we sat and waited for the all-clear. I prayed to the moon goddess that Cassius and everyone else would be alright. Nicky sat beside me, playing with his little friend April. Linda sat close to us while my sister was next to our mother. Then I cried out as I felt a sharp pain in my chest. There was a flash of the battlefield as Cassius fell to the ground. Leonora howled in my head. “Cassius is hurt.” I gasped out and stood to try and open the door.

My mother had to stop me. “Jemma, you can’t go out there yet.”

“But Mom,” I cried. “Cassius needs me.”

She grabbed my arms and glared into my eyes. “Cassius needs you to be safe. Now you have to stay here.”

I sniffled as tears fell down my cheeks. I felt more pain coursing through my body, and I fell to my knees and clutched my chest. ‘He’s been poisoned in the heart with silver.’ Leonora whimpered, and my heart shattered. I sobbed from the pain as I felt my mate’s life draining from him. “I have to get out there!” I screamed as more pain coursed through me.

My mother was beside me, trying to console me as my vision became blurry. ‘I love you, Jemma,’ Cassius’s voice said in my head weakly.

‘Hold on, Cassius,’ I replied to him. ‘Please, Goddess, don’t take my Cassius from me.’ I pleaded with her right before blacking out.
