Chapter 30: Let’s go home

Isabella POV

I woke up the following morning and was ready to face another day. I stretched out in bed and rolled over in bed only to lock eyes with another set of eyes.

I jumped in surprise to a sitting position and brought to blanket up to cover my chest. I was only wearing a white tank top, no bra and a pair of white cheeky underwear.

Alpha Drake was sitting next to me in bed just watching me.

“What are you doing in here?” I asked annoyed.

“I want to talk to you.” He said with a hopeful glint in his eyes.

“Could it not wait until I was up?” I replied with a short tone.

“No.” He answered.

“Fine, talk.” I said. He didn’t speak for a minute, I could tell he was working up some courage.

“I’m sorry Isabella, I don’t say it often, but I was wrong for keeping it a secret from you.” He said with so much sincerity in his words, It melted my heart, my face softened and I believe he meant it.

“Thank you.” I practically whispered, still surprised at his words. He’s always so proud, it caught me off guard seeing him so vulnerable.

“We have to go back to my territory Isabella, but I promise you won’t be locked in your room.” He said.

“Ok.” Is all I could say, I was completely at a loss for words.

“Take the day to spend with your brother and friends, we will leave in the morning ok? Jared is sending a couple SUV’s to pick us up.”

“Ok.” I replied. I’ve never been this quiet, I literally can’t think of any words to say.

Alpha Drake reached over and cupped my cheek with his big rough hand, it felt so good I couldn’t help myself when I leaned into his touch and closed my eyes. I felt his rough thumb stroke my cheek and before I opened my eyes I felt his soft lips on my forehead. My whole body broke out with goosebumps from his touch and butterflies invaded my stomach. I didn’t want him to let go.

“I don’t know what I would of done if anything had happened to you.” He whispered to me and I opened my eyes. He looked so sad. I didn’t say anything, I didn’t understand what he was thinking. Why does he care so much? I wanted to ask, but the words wouldn’t come out.

Bri was purring in my head like a cat at his touch. I’m not going to lie, I accidentally let out a little whimper when he let go of me.

Alpha Drake stood from the bed and walked out of my room closing the door behind him.

I sat in bed in a complete haze running my hand over the spot on my cheek that he was stroking with his thumb. I already missed his touch.

The Alpha that just left my room was a different man than the arrogant and dominant Alpha I first met. This new Alpha was able to shut me up, something no one has been able to achieve before. I was completely at a loss for words.

I got out of bed and hopped in the shower, once I was done and dried off, I got dressed in a pair of black tights and a grey crop top. I tied my hair up in a messy bun and slipped on my white runners before leaving my bedroom.

The cut on my forehead had already healed thanks to my werewolf fast healing abilities and my body wasn’t as sore as the day prior. I was kinda feeling good, maybe it was thanks to my little moment with Alpha Drake that had me feeling chipper.

I walked down to the main floor of the pack house and decided to go and get some lunch. I had slept in past breakfast, I guess my body needed to catch up on sleep, I usually don’t sleep that late in the day.

I went and sat at a table where Declan, Jet and Jason were seated.

They all looked at me with surprise on their faces, like they didn’t expect to see me today.

“Good morning.” I greeted with a small smile.

They all greeted me back.

“How are you feeling Isabella?” Declan asked with concern.

“Better, thank you.” I replied.

“I’ll be heading back to Crescent Moon Pack tomorrow with Alpha Drake and his men.” I told them.

“Is that what you want? I can’t talk to him if you want to stay here.” Declan asked.

“No i’m going with him, I can’t handle being the cause of another attack to our pack, at least his pack is bigger, it will be harder for the rogues to attack me there.” I told him with a serious tone. He nodded his understanding.

“I love you Isabella and I’m so sorry for keeping such an important secrets from you.” He said with sadness in his tone. I could see the regret in his eyes.

“I know, and I love you too.” I said offering him a small smile.

We ate the rest of our meal in comfortable silence. After I was done eating I went for a walk in the garden, I always loved it in the garden, it instantly relaxed me and cleared my mind.

The rest of day went by fast, I spent it chatting with pack members and getting caught up on the gossip I missed while I’ve been away. It felt really nice being around the people I grew up with, but for some reason though it didn’t feel like home anymore. Where is my home now, I thought to myself?

After dinner with my pack I decided to call it a night, I knew the drive to the Crescent Moon pack territory would be a long one, I wanted to be well rested.

It didn’t take me long when I hit the bed to fall asleep.

Alpha Drake POV

I went to talk with Isabella in the morning but she was still sleeping.

I couldn’t help myself, I sat next to her on her bed and watched her for a few minutes. She looked so perfect while she slept, the little snores that came out of her mouth were the cutest. Man, how did this happen? One minute I was so sure I didn’t need her and now I can’t picture my life without her in it.

After a few minutes of watching her, she started to stir, she slowly opened her eyes and stretched her body, I couldn’t help but glance at her tight white tank top she had on with no bra, it hugged her breasts so perfectly and I could see her small pink n*****s through the material. Goddess how I want to touch her body. My c**k was already twitching to life in my pants.

I have to look elsewhere, as much as I want to f**k her right here, that’s not why I came to talk with her.

She looked surprised to see me in her room but quickly changed her expression to irritated as she sat in bed and covered herself with a blanket.

I don’t like to apologize and I don’t like admitting that I’m wrong, but I knew I had to or I could lose her. She looked so hurt when we told her the truth, like we betrayed her in the worst way.

So, I sucked up my pride and apologized to her with so much sincerity in my voice, I saw her face soften and I knew she believed my words. I also promised that she will no longer be locked In her room when we return to my territory. It killed me to make that promise, knowing she could leave if she wanted to but I knew If I didn’t make it, she wouldn’t come voluntarily with me.

I put my hand on her cheek and I felt sparks shoot up my arm, I was so happy when she leaned her face into my hand and closed her eyes while I brushed her cheek with my thumb. While her eyes were closed I decided to to lean in and k**s her forehead, gosh I love having my lips on her skin.

I didn’t want to push my luck, knowing how vulnerable she still is, so I pulled away.

I told her that we would be heading back to my territory the next morning and to my surprise she didn’t argue.

I left her alone in her room, knowing she would want some time with her brother and friends before we left in the morning.

I kept to myself for most of the day giving her space. I was trying to avoid any conflict that would make her change her mind about coming back with me.

I laid in bed that night thinking of Isabella. I have no clue how I’m suppose to act now, do I make it clear that I want her, or do I wait till her birthday and let her realize I’m her mate? I’ve never felt like this before and it’s messing with my head, I don’t even know how to act anymore. I’m always confident, but now I’m like a lost pup.

I fell asleep that night, but it wasn’t a good sleep, I tossed and turned and had a lot of dreams about my little minx.

The next morning I was up at 6:00am ready to go and to my pleasant surprise so was my little stubborn mate. It brought a smile to my face to see that she didn’t fight me on coming back to my territory. Maybe deep down she wants to be with me. I thought hopefully.

I watched her hug her brother good bye and I couldn’t help the growl that left my lips when she hugged his gamma and beta.

I know they are just friends, but my possessive side and wolf definitely don’t like seeing other men touching her, gosh it’s even hard when her brother hugs her for some stupid reason. She glared at me and the guys all took a step back putting their hands up in a mock surrender.

“What is your problem.” She asked me with irritation in her tone before she turned her back to me and continued saying her good bye’s. I just shrugged my shoulders and waited for her to finish.

After she was done and ready to leave, we loaded up into the waiting SUV’s. I hoped into the backseat beside Isabella and it felt so good knowing I would be sitting this close to her for several hours. I wish I could pulled her onto my lap and hold her the entire way, but I think that might be to much, so I’ll stay on my side and just enjoy her close to me.

The ride was quiet, but a comfortable silence. I think we all had a lot on our minds and it was a good time to process everything.

After a few hours of driving I couldn’t help myself from breaking the silence.

“How are you holding up?” I asked Isabella.

“I’m ok, I guess. Just a lot to process over the past two days and it all feels a little surreal.” She replied but offered me a small smile.

“Well Isabella, if you need help processing all those emotions, you can come to me. I mean I’m not a good talker, but I can take a punch like no one’s business and I’ll be your punching bag any day. “ I told her with a wink and a small chuckle trying to cheer her up. It worked, she chuckled and shook her head at me.

“I might just take you up on that. I think I owe you a couple of good shots for keeping the secret in the first place.” She said with a joking tone.

“I’ll go easy on you, let you get those shots in this time.” I told her with a teasing tone.

“Hmmmm, Let me eh? You think so highly of yourself, let’s be honest I can kick your a*s with one arm tied behind my back.” She spat back at me with her own teasing tone.

“Oh, your gonna throw down some trash talk eh? I’d like to see that.” I replied.

The rest of ride was good, we were joking and teasing each other, it was easy and comfortable. I was in complete heaven.
