The Alpha’s Feisty Mate -
Chapter 52: I won’t let you go
Isabella POV
I was making my way through the forest carefully, trying to avoid any warriors on patrol.
I knew that Alpha Drake was sending a team to search beyond the border, so I would have to be extra carefully, even after I cross it.
As I was about to reach the border, I heard a twig snap behind me.
I turned around quickly and in the distance, I saw Alpha Drake walking towards me.
When he got closer, his scent had become 100% more prominent, It hit my senses, like a tidal wave almost knocking me over.
No, this can’t be, my eyes flew wide open when the realizing hit me. Bri was going mental in my head, repeated the same word over and over again.
“Mate!”
“That’s Mate!“
“We found Mate!”
I growled out loud, when the realization hit me, Alpha Drake was my mate.
He knew all along and didn’t bother telling me. That’s how little I mean to him. How dare he keep that from me.
He got closer, the rage started to bubbling inside me. I internally reminded myself that whatever was happened here, it wasn’t the time, I need to replace Clair.
“Isabella- – -.” Alpha Drake started to say, but I cut him off.
“No, don’t you dare! You need to go back to the pack house, now!” I spat at him, while tears started filling my eyes.
“I can’t let you go after her alone.” He said with a low stern voice, as he slowly walked closer.
“Like hell your going to stop me.” I shouted, as I slid my dagger out of the leg holster and pointed it at him. He threw his hands up in surrender and his his eyes grew wide.
I couldn’t control the emotions running through my body. I was about to have a melt down, this was way more than I could handle.
“Isabella, you won’t hurt me, I’m your mate.” He said, while getting closer.
“I would do anything for Clair, I won’t let you or anyone else for that matter, stop me.” I said as I jabbed the dagger towards him. I wanted him to know that I wasn’t messing around, It worked, he jumped back at the action.
“Isabella, we will get her back, I promise.” He tried to reassure me, but he didn’t know about the note I had received. I knew what I needed to do and he couldn’t help me.
“You don’t understand, if I don’t go, she dies.” I said with desperation in my voice.
“What do you mean?” He asked concerned.
“Nothing, I need to go.” I said, regretting my previous words. I’ve already said to much.
“I know you won’t hurt me, Isabella.” He said, as he again tried approaching me.
“You underestimate me, Alpha.” I said with a dry chuckle.
“I know you won’t, because I love you and I know you love me.” He said with sincerity and I froze, completely shocked by his words. He didn’t sound like he was lying. He loves me?
His words sent a whirlwind of emotions through my body.
My shock state was enough of a distraction for him to grab the dagger out of my hand, he quickly spun me around and wrapped his arms around my body pinning my arms to my sides.
Even through my shirt, I felt bolts of electricity radiating through me at his touch. It was so distracting and it caused so much confusing in my head and my heart.
Why is this happened? goddess why would you do this to me? He can’t be my mate.
I started to thrash my body in an attempt to break free from his hold, but he wouldn’t let me go.
“I won’t let you go Isabella, you can hate me forever, but I won’t do it.” He said sternly, as he threw me over his shoulder, like a sack of potatoes.
“Don’t, please don’t. You don’t understand, if I don’t get to her by morning, she’ll be dead.” I cried out in desperation.
“What do you know, that I don’t, Isabella?” Alpha Drake growled out the question, as he started walking towards the pack house carrying me over his shoulder.
“Nothing, just let me go or I swear to the goddess, I’ll kill you.” I spat, while tears filled my eyes.
I was beating my fists as hard as could against his back, he didn’t even react, just kept walking.
“No.” He said shortly, anger now lacing his words.
We got to the pack house and he threw the door open with so much force and he wasted no time carrying me up the stairs, while I continued to scream and hit him.
“Stop Isabella.” Alpha Drake said sternly, as people started coming out of their rooms, to see what was happening.
We reached his bedroom door, he forcefully pushed it open, before walking inside and shutting it behind us.
He threw me and the bed and a yelp left my lips on impact.
I glared at him while he stood at the side of the bed, glaring right back at me, his arms were crossed over his chest.
“Isabella, what information do you have, that I don’t? He asked again, with his husky deep voice.
“I can’t tell you. Please trust me, let me go.” I begged in a softer voice, trying to use a different approach, so he would let me go.
“I will never let you go.” He growl angrily, while walking into his closet. I could hear the sound of metal clinking.
After a minute, Alpha Drake walked out, holding a chain in his hands. My eyes flew wide as she started walking towards me.
I couldn’t help the tears of pure panic that started running down my cheeks. He can’t do this. I need to go and save Clair.
“Please don’t do this.” I begged while sobbing. I couldn’t control my emotions any longer and the tears started to fall freely. I backed up on the bed as he got closer to me.
He didn’t say anything, as he grabbed my ankle roughly and attached a cuff to it before locking it with a key. He then attached the other end of the chain to the foot of the bed, before placing the key in his pocket.
I could feel the silver burning my ankle and I knew I wouldn’t be able to shift, he used silver to suppress my wolf and made sure I couldn’t break free.
I was starting to feel desperate, like a caged animal, my vision was blurring as I fought to remain in control of my body.
I lunged at him and knocked him onto the bed before I moved quickly to the chain trying to rip it free from the post, but It didn’t budge.
I saw Alpha Drake sitting on the bed, he just watching me with concern and pity, as I thrashed savagely trying to brake the restraints.
Feeling desperate was an understatement, I would kill right now for my freedom. Clair will not die because I couldn’t make it to her in time.
After an hour of thrashing, I sat on the floor feeling defeated. The chain was long enough to give me a bit of space to move, but I realized I wouldn’t be able to break free, not without the key.
“Isabella, I’m doing this for your own good.” He said with sadness in his voice. I could feel how guilty this made him feel. Good, he shouldn’t be doing it, I thought to myself.
Alpha Drake stood from the bed letting out a heavy sigh before walking into the bathroom.
I tried again to break the chain, but failed. Defeat took over and I leaned back against the bed ready to give up, until my eyes landed on my backpack.

Alpha Drake POV
I caught up with Isabella as she reach the border. I saw her turn in my directly when she heard me coming.
I carefully walked closer, she stood watching me with irritation in her eyes.
I knew the exact moment she recognized that I was her mate, the irritation was quickly replaced with shock and disbelief as she remained frozen in her spot.
It didn’t last long, her anger quickly took over all other emotions.
I was shocked when I got closer and she drew her dagger and threatening me. I could see in her eyes that she didn’t really want to hurt me, but to her there was no other options.
When I told her that I loved her, her face went back to complete shock and she froze. I took that opportunity to rip the dagger from her hand and I pinned her body with mine.
She thrashed against me with everything she had. The desperation in her actions and her voice, broke my heart, I could hear her sobbing and I had never seen her so vulnerable, not even when her father died.
I knew I need to get her back to the pack house. She’s strong and I really didn’t know what she would do in this state, I needed to restrain her and fast.
I threw her over my shoulder while she kicked and screamed and I walked back.
She had said something, about Clair dying if she didn’t go replace her tonight and it made my b***d boil. At that moment, I knew Isabella knew something more about Clair’s disappearance and she was keeping it from me.
Why does she have to be so difficult. I could help her, she doesn’t always have to do everything on her own.
I wanted to explain myself to her, but I couldn’t, it wasn’t the right time.
Once back in my room, I threw her on my bed before retrieved a silver laced chain from my walk-in closet.
I secured her ankle with one end, before I attached the other to the leg of the bed.
The only way I could describe her reaction was, savage, she acted like a caged animal desperately trying to break free from her restraints.
It broke me, watching her thrashing around. I didn’t want to hurt her, what I really wanted to do, was hold her in my arms and reassure her that everything would be ok, she wouldn’t let me, not in this state. I was the enemy to her right now and it killed me inside.
I know her intentions are good, I just can’t let her sacrifice herself. Maybe it’s me being selfish, but I won’t give her up, I never will.
We will get Clair back, without me losing Isabella in the process.
