The Alpha’s Feisty Mate -
Chapter 77: Let’s go kick some as-s
Isabella POV
We pulled up to the old Rogue Pack house and a chill ran down my spin. I hated the memories, that the place brought back. The only good thing about that whole experience, was saving Lily and helping her replace her mate, my brother.
We stepped out of the vehicle and all three of us just stared, at the now deserted building for a few minutes.
“So, this is where the Rogue Alpha kept you?” Trish asked and glanced at me. I simple nodded my head, as I walked inside. Trish and Clair followed behind.
The house was in the exact same state we left it in, it was clear that no one had returned. We looked around and found nothing inside that would be helpful with out search.
“What now?” Clair asked, once we were done searching inside.
“Let’s search the tree line, it hasn’t rained in a while, we might be able to pickup some tracks, specially if there were several rogue that escaped.” I replied, Clair and Trish nodded and we headed outside.
We searched different areas, but stayed within ear shot of one another.
Almost an hour went by and we still hadn’t found anything. I was starting to feel discouraged. Maybe we won’t replace any tracks, If we don’t, trying to replace the rogues, will be like trying to replace a needle in a hay stack.
All of a sudden, I heard Trish yell that she found something.
Both Clair and I, ran to Trish’s location. She was on the Westside of the property.
“What did you replace?” I asked curiously, as we approached.
“Foot prints, quite a few of them.” Trish replied, I followed her line of sight downward and sure enough, there were foot prints, lots of them, like a group of people had been standing in the same spot for quite sometime.
I’m confident, that my warriors didn’t search this area, so it must of been where the rogues clustered, before taking off.
Excitement started to flood through me, this is it. If we follow these tracks, they should lead me straight to the man I’m looking for, the Rogue Alpha.
“Good job, Trish. This is what we were looking for. I think our best option, is to leave the vehicle here and follow the track in our wolf form.” I said, both Clair and Trish agreed with me.
“Let’s go get our bags out of the vehicle, so we can carry them with us.” I said, as I started walking back, towards the pack house.
We need to hurry, I know we likely only have a couple hour head start on Alpha Drake and the guys, I’m sure they’ve already realized we left the territory. Hopefully, it takes them a while to figure out where to look for us, though.
Once we retrieved our bags, we stripped off our clothes and put them in the bags, before shifting into our wolves.
I took off running towards the tracks and started following them, Trish and Clair where right behind me.
We followed them for an hour and still hadn’t come across anything that would indicate, that the rogues had stopped.
We decided to stop by a creek, for a short break. We all shifted to our human forms, so we could communicate with each other.
“What do you think?” Trish asked curiously, as she splashes water on her face, from the creek.
“I think we’re definitely following the right tracks, the only thing is, goddess knows how far they travelled, before they stopped to setup camp. It could be a while before we replace them, or they might be right up ahead of us.” I replied, while splashing my own face with water. Clair and Trish didn’t say anything further, we sat and had a quick drink, before it was time to go.
“Let’s get going.” I instructed Clair and Trish. They both nodded and we shifted back into our wolves.
We took off running, following the multiple wolf tracks that continued Westbound.
If I were to guess, there were around 25-30 different wolf tracks, that we were following. It’s going to be tough for us three, to take on that many rogues, but hopefully with the element of surprise, we can get the job done.
After another hour, I started to pickup a rotten smell.
I immediately slowdown and was on high alert, so was my wolf, Bri. I glanced over at Trish and Clair and I knew they could also smell what I was smelling, their snoots were pointed upwards and I watched, as they both inhaled deeply.
I shifted into my human form, Trish and Clair did the same.
“I think we are getting close to something.” I whispered to them.
“Ya, that smell is faint, but it’s definitely rogue.” Clair said lowly.
“Let’s get dressed and continue on foot. I think our best bet, will be to try and kill as many as we can discreetly, so that the others won’t know that we are coming. That way, when the fight happens, we won’t be so heavily out numbered.” I said, both Trish and Clair agreed and we started to get dressed.
I got dressed in a pair of black leggings with pockets and a black tank top. I tied my hair up into a bun, so it would be out of my face.
I holstered my daggers on both my thighs. I put the cuffs in one of my pockets and the wolfbane syringe in the other.
I watched, as Trish pulled out a big hunting knife from her backpack and she slid the holster onto her belt. The knife was a skinning type knife. Dang, that girl doesn’t mess around, I like it.
Once we were ready, we slowly kept moving forward, being as quiet as possible. I noticed the rotten smell got stronger and stronger, the further we went.
It really was a shame that we couldn’t Mind-link each other, it’s going to make this attack much more difficult, but I trust that the girls are on the same page as I am, we got this.
After walking for five more minutes, I could hear voices coming from a distance, up ahead. This is it, we found them. My adrenaline started to pump through my veins, as I prepared myself for the fight.
“Clair, you come in from the North, Trish, you go South. Remember, take out as many as you can discreetly while your approaching. If you’re caught, scream out so we can hear you. Let’s go kick some a*s.” I whispered out the instructions. They both nodded, before taking off, towards where I instructed them to go.
I waited a few minutes, giving them time to get into position, before I started moving forward.
I spotted a rogue in human form around fifty feet away, he looked like he was guarding the area. He didn’t see me approach. I got closer, using the trees and bushes as cover, till I was approximately twenty feet away.
I slid out my dagger from the holster quietly and got into position to throw it. I inhaled a deep breath to calm my heart rate and threw it. I hit the rogue dead centre on his forehead and watched, as his limp body fell to the ground, only seconds later.
I slowly approached his body and removed the dagger from his forehead, before continuing forward.
A few minutes later, the voices I could hear were getting louder, I must be getting closer to their camp.
I quickly hid in a bush, when I saw another rogue approaching my location, in human form. I could see him through the branches and he didn’t seem to notice me. I let out a breath of relief, as I prepared myself to kill him.
He was now approximately twenty five feet away. I took in a breath and stepped out of the trees with my dagger in hand, ready to throw it.
I saw his eyes go wide with shock, when he saw me. I didn’t give him time to react, before I threw the dagger and once again, it hit him in the middle of the forehead and his lifeless body fell to the ground.
I let out the breath I was holding and moved towards his body. I took the dagger out of his forehead, before continuing to move forward.
I started to see the outline of a building through the trees. It looked like a wooden cabin of some sort and I could hear the crackling of a fire.
I spotted two rogues, casually talking to one another, around twenty feet from the cabin. They didn’t notice me approaching, I could see the sides of their heads as they faced each other. I couldn’t see anyone else around. This is is perfect, I can take out a few more discreetly.
I slid out my second dagger and slowly raised both of them. I took another deep breath calming my racing heart and threw both daggers, hitting both rogues on their temples. I watched, as both their body’s went limp and fell to the ground.
I let out the breath I was holding and slowly walked towards the dead rogues, to retrieve my daggers.
I heard the sound of a gun c**k behind me and I froze in place. I was only a few feet away from the dead rogues and my daggers.
“Well well well, what do we have here.” I heard a family voice, coming from behind me. It made my b***d boil, what the hell is Jill doing here?
I slowly turned around, with my hands in the air and came face to face with Jill. She was holding a gun, that was pointed at my face.
I glanced at my dagger, wondering if I could reach it in time, before she pulled the trigger of the gun.
“I wouldn’t dare reach for that dagger. I’ve got silver bullets in here and they would kill you instantly.” She said, with an evil smirk on her face.
“So, you betrayed Alpha Drake, to come live in an old run down shack with the rogues? Smart move.” I spat out sarcastically.
“Listen b***h, I’m going to enjoy killing you. You stole what was mine and now your going to pay for it.” She spat out angrily, as she moved her finger onto the trigger and my eyes grew wide, s**t she’s going to shoot me.
I’m not even sure where she came from, but all of sudden, Trish was standing beside Jill. Jill turned her head to look at Trish, she had a shocked expression on her face and kept the gun pointed at me.
“No one threatens my Luna.” Trish growled out, as she c****d her fist back and landed a hard punch on Jill’s face. Jill’s body instantly went limp and she fell to the ground unconscious.
“That was a close one. Thank you.” I whispered to Trish, feeling relieved that she was there.
I reached down and retrieved my daggers, before holstering them.
I grabbed my cuffs and secured Jill’s unconscious body to a tree. I didn’t want her to die a fast death, no, I want to see her pay for her betrayal. I’ll be bringing her back with us, so she can enjoy the luxuries, that our dungeon has to offer.
“Let’s keep moving.” I whispered to Trish and she nodded. We started moving forward, when I heard a twig snap.
I froze, when I spotted the Rogue Alpha, coming into view twenty feet away, holding Clair firmly in a choke hold, against his body.
My heart sank. This is not good. What am I going to do?
