Chapter 87: Who invited you?

Isabella POV

We woke up early the next morning and skipped training, so we could finish all the last minute arrangements for the Alpha meeting.

I went around and checked all the guest rooms to make sure they were ready. I also went to check on the kitchen staff, to ensure they had everything they required for the dinner menu.

I brought the discussion sheets, that Alpha Drake prepared and placed them in front of all the chairs, in the conference room.

I really wasn’t looking forward to this meeting. It’s just going to be a room full of hot headed, arrogant men, who think they are better than everyone else. There’s usually a lot of head butting amongst themselves, in these kind of meetings.

Usually Luna’s don’t attend the meetings, but Alpha Drake insists that I be present with him, he wants to hear my opinions, as much if not more than the other Alpha’s.

I love how far he’s come, from when I first met him. I’m back on the patrol schedule and he hasn’t tried to stop me once, he treats me the same as the other warriors.

I don’t think anything could come between us at this point, our relationship is strong and we work so well together, I thought to myself.

It was now late afternoon and the Alpha’s were about to arrive. I decided to head to my room and freshen up, before the meeting.

I had a quick shower, before getting dressed in a black pencil skirt, that a slit in the middle of the back, a sky blue blouse, that I tucked in to the waist of the skirt and black stilettos. I tied my hair up in a high bun and applied simple makeup.

Once I was dressed, I headed downstairs and met Alpha Drake at the front door. He was wearing black dress pants and a navy blue button up shirt, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Goddess he looked sexy, his biceps were so big, that they strained the material of his shirt.

“Wow Isabella, you look gorgeous.” Alpha Drake said, as he leaned down and kissed my lips gently.

“Thank you. You’re looking not to shabby yourself.” I teased, while winking at him.

“I want nothing more, than to rip that sexy little outfit off your body and f**k you senseless.” Alpha Drake whispered seductively into my ear. I instantly got excited, at the images that popped into my head. I liked where his heads at, maybe when this meeting’s over, we can bring those images to life.

I was brought back to reality, when the first SUV pulled up in front of the pack house.

Alpha Thomas, stepped out of the vehicle, with his beta and a few of his pack warriors.

He climbed the stairs and met us by the entrance.

“Alpha Drake, Luna Isabella, it’s nice to see you again.” Alpha Thomas greeted us, his eyes lingered on me a little to long for Alpha Drake’s liking, because all of a sudden, he growled possessively. Alpha Thomas threw his hands up in the air, in a mock surrender and chuckled.

“Sorry Alpha Drake, I meant no disrespect.” Alpha Thomas said, still holding his hands up.

“It’s nice to see you again, Alpha Thomas.” I replied, with a smiled, changing the subject.

“If you head inside, someone will escort you and your men to your rooms.” Alpha Drake added, in a serious but short tone. He was probably still bothered, that Alpha Thomas had showed interest in me, months ago on my old territory.

Alpha Thomas and his men went inside, as the next vehicle pulled up. We repeated the same greeting, with all 6 of the Alpha’s that had confirmed their attendance.

Once all the expected guests were inside, Alpha Drake and I, were about to go in as well, when another vehicle pulled up in front of the pack house.

I glanced over at Alpha Drake, who looked surprised to see another vehicle. I thought there were only suppose to be six other Alpha’s at the meeting and by the look on Alpha Drake’s face, he wasn’t expecting anyone else either.

I saw a man step out of the passenger seat. He was around 27 years old, 6’3 with blonde hair and blue eyes. He had a muscular build and was wearing navy blue dress pants and a light grey button up shirt. He had a smirk on his face, as he looked our way.

I looked over at Alpha Drake and he had a murderous look on his face, as he clenched his jaw tightly.

The new arrival, climbed the stairs with his men and stopped to greet us, in front of the main doors.

“Alpha Drake, it’s nice to see you again. Who might this beauty be?” The guy said, while looking at me with smirk on his face. Before Alpha Drake could respond, I did.

“You can call this beauty, Luna Isabella from now on and you are?” I replied, distaste clear in my tone. I kept my head held high and never took my eyes away from his. Showing him, that I’m not some submissive mate, that will tolerate disrespect.

“A yes, Luna Isabella, I heard about Alpha Drake’s feisty mate. I am Alpha Theodore, of the High Mountain pack. Please call me Theo.” He replied and bowed his head, his tone had an almost mocking tone to it, it caused anger to rush through my body.

“Show my Luna respect, while you’re on my territory, or leave.” Alpha Drake spat out angrily and I saw Alpha Theo flinch ever so slightly, at his tone.

“I mean no disrespect, Alpha Drake, Luna Isabella. I sincerely apologize, if that’s how it sounded.” Alpha Theo said, trying to sound believable, but I could see right through his act.

“Who invited you?” Alpha Drake growled out.

“Now, now Alpha Drake, no need for hostility, this meeting is suppose to bring us all together. I should of been invited in the first place, but my invitation must of gotten lost in the mail.” Alpha Theo replied. I could see a very slight smirk on his face, he was enjoying himself.

“How did you get on my territory?” Alpha Drake asked angrily.

“Your guards were kind enough to let me in, I am an Alpha after all and I should be included in the ‘Alpha’ meeting.” Alpha Theo said, emphasizing the word, Alpha.

“Alpha Theo, if you cause any problems on my territory, while you’re here. I won’t hesitate to kill you.” Alpha Drake warned, in a low threatening tone. Something about Alpha Theo, rubbed me the wrong way, he seemed even more arrogant and cocky than the others. I wonder what his history is with Alpha Drake.

“I’m here for the same reasons as the other Alpha’s. I have my own concerns that I would like to bring up at the meeting.” Alpha Theo replied, sounding more serious this time. I glanced over and I could see curiosity in Alpha Drake’s eyes. He wanted to figure out, what this a*****e was up to and so did I.

“Very well, let’s go and get this meeting started, you will have to leave after the meeting, we have no extra rooms for you and your men.” Alpha Drake said. It was a lie, we had plenty of available rooms, but I knew Alpha Drake didn’t want Alpha Theo, staying any longer then needed. The tension between the two of them, was strong.

“That’a fine.” Alpha Theo replied, before he followed Alpha Drake and I inside.

We walked into the meeting room and I could see the shocked looked on everyone’s faces, when they saw Alpha Theo enter. I wonder what the deal is with this guy. I knew he wasn’t here for the meeting, he had a hidden agenda, I could feel it.

“Everyone take your seats, let’s start the meeting.” Alpha Drake announced and everyone took a seat.

The meeting had been going on for hours, it was pretty boring for the most part. Some packs were having problems with ongoing rogue attacks, while others had issued getting enough supplies to their isolated territories. We came up with solutions and strategies, trying to help all the other packs as best as we could.

Alpha Theo stayed quiet up until this point, yet I could tell something was coming. He didn’t just come here to listen. A guy like him wants to stir the pot, I could see it in his eyes.

“Let’s take a fifteen minute break, the washrooms are down the hall on the left and make sure to help yourselves to the coffee and snacks over there.” Alpha Drake announced, pointing to the table where the snacks were laid out.

‘My office’ Alpha Drake mind-linked me.

I knew it was important by the tone is his voice. I didn’t replied, I simply left the room and headed towards his office. I knew he was trying to be discreet, that’s the only reason he spoke through mind-link, instead of out loud.

I only had to wait a minute, before Alpha Drake walked in to the room and closed the door behind him. He let out a frustrated sigh, before he turned to look at me.

“He came here for something, he’s a snake. Whatever it is, it’s not going to be good.” Alpha Drake said, with a thoughtful frown, while pacing around his office.

“Who is he?” I asked curiously. Alpha Drake stopped in his tracts and looked me in the eyes. I could see pain and sadness within them. He hesitated for a moment, before answering me.

“I never told you, how my parents died.” Alpha Drake started and paused before continuing.

“It was eight years ago, I was 17 at the time. They had been called to a meeting at the High Mountain Pack. Alpha Theo’s father, Loyd, who was the Alpha at the time, asked my parents to attend, so they could discuss a truths between packs, there had been an ongoing dispute. My parents really wanted the dispute to end and agreed to the meeting. They were travelling by vehicle, with my father’s Beta, Jared’s father, when they were ambushed by rogues and killed. We all suspected that Alpha Loyd was responsible for the attack, but could never prove it. All the other packs were loyal to my father and stayed loyal to me after the incident, making Alpha Theo’s pack, somewhat of an outcast.” Alpha Drake finished and I could see so many emotions swirling in his eyes, he looked, sad, angry, concerned, irritated, it was clear that talking about his parents brought up a storm of emotions.

“I’m so sorry, I had no idea.” I replied softly, while wrapping my arms around him. I wanted nothing more than to comfort him, I hated seeing him this upset.

“Let’s go get this meeting over with, so we can get that a*****e off our territory.” Alpha Drake said and I nodded my head. We left his office and walked back towards the meeting.

We got to the conference room and everyone was chatting amongst themselves, except for Alpha Theo, who was sitting by himself at the table. His eyes were glued on us, as we entered the room.

Jared stood not far off from him and his eyes where glued on Alpha Theo. Alpha Drake must of tasked Jared with watching him, while we were in his office talking.

“Alright everyone, take a seat, we have a few more matters to discuss.” Alpha Drake announced and everyone sat down.

“Who’s would like to go next?” Alpha Drake asked.

“I would.” Alpha Theo replied, with a sinister look in his eyes.

A shiver ran down my spine. I knew something bad was going to come out of his mouth. He had an evil look in his eyes and whatever he was going to say, would certainly cause waves. I was starting to get concerned.
