Chapter 95: Trial Verdict

Isabella POV

A few days had gone by, since we received the official DNA results.

Today, we are holding trials for both, Alpha Theo and Jill. I am anxious to replace out the verdicts, specially for Jill’s case.

Since both Drake and I, were directly involved in the crimes, we won’t be making any rulings in these trials. It will be up to the elders, to make all the decisions.

I headed to Drake’s office, so we could attend court together. I was feeling nervous about the day and having him close by, really helps to calm me down.

When I reached his office, the door was slightly ajar, so I didn’t bother to knock and just walked it.

Drake was sitting behind his desk and his eyes lifted, when he heard me walk in.

“Goddess, I’m happy to see you. Going through all this paper work, has been complete torture.” Alpha Drake said, while pushing his chair away from his desk. I walked around and sat on his lap.

“I can help you with some of that work, after the trials today, if you want.” I offered, while leaning in and kissing his lips.

“Don’t you have a doctors appointment?” Drake asked, with a frown.

“Oh ya, I almost forgot. I’ve been so preoccupied with these trials, that it almost slipped my mind.” I replied. I had totally forgotten about my appointment. Doctor Erickson, wants to do a checkup, of my general health and fertility.

“Do you want me to come with you?” Drake asked.

“No, you have a lot of work to do. I’ll be fine.” I replied and offered him a small smile.

“Ok.” Drake said, as he kissed my cheek.

“We should head out. The trials will begin shortly.” I said, as I stood from his lap. Drake let out a heavy sigh.

“Ya, let’s go get this over with.” Drake replied, while standing from his chair.

We walked down to the main floor of the pack house, in silence. I knew Drake was just as nervous as I was about the trials.

Once we reached the main floor, people were gathered everywhere, waiting for the first trial to begin.

The dinner hall had been rearranged, to accommodate the trials. It’s the biggest room in the pack house and most of the pack members, want to be present and hear the verdicts.

Drake and I walked into the hall and I noticed that three of the elders, were already seated at the front.

We took our seats, at the front. After only a few minutes, one of the elders spoke.

“Everyone, take a seat. We will begin, with Alpha Theo’s trial.” The elder said and the room went quiet, as everyone sat down.

Two guards walked in, escorting a restrained Alpha Theo and sat him down in a chair, at the front of the room.

“Alpha Theo, you’re accused of aiding and abetting, someone wanted on multiple charges. After conducting our investigation and interviewing several of your pack members. You are also being charged, with failure to provide necessities to your pack. How do you plead?” The elder asked.

“That’s ridiculous, I did no such thing. Jill is pregnant with Alpha Drake’s baby, he’s the one who should be on trial. And what pack member did you interview? I provide my pack with everything that they need, those charges are ridiculous.” Alpha Theo spat out, angrily.

“I asked, how do you plead, Alpha?” The elder one again asked.

“Not guilty, damn it!” Alpha Theo shouted.

“Very well, let’s bring up the first witness.” The elder announced.

I watched, as several people provide evidence. Including, Doctor Hall, Clair, Drake and several of Alpha Theo’s pack members. When I looked over at Alpha Theo, his face was pale and I could tell his confidence was gone.

“We have heard enough. We’re going to deliberate and will be back with a verdict shortly.” The elder announced, as all three of them stood and left the room.

The room erupted in chattered, as everyone waited for a verdict.

“How are you holding up?” Drake asked, while wrapping his arm around my shoulders.

“I’m ok, what do you think they’re going to do with him? Doesn’t sound, like his pack is very fond of him.” I said and glanced up at Alpha Drake.

“I honestly don’t know.” Drake replied, while shrugging his shoulders.

We waited a half an hour, before the elders came back into the room. Everyone immediately went silent.

“We have reached a verdict. Alpha Theo, we replace you guilty of both counts. As a punishment, you will be stripped of your title and you’re now considered a rogue.” The elder announced and several gasps were heard In crowd, as people started to whisper amongst themselves.

“You can’t do that. I’m an Alpha.” Theo spat out.

“Silence.” The elder shouted and the room went quiet, again.

“We can and we have. If you don’t comply with the punishment, you will be imprisoned indefinitely. Guards, escort Theo off the territory.” The elder instructed. I watched, as the guards each grabbed one of Theo’s arms and escorted him out of the room.

Once he was gone, two more guards entered the room with Jill. She was restrained, by her wrists and ankles. The guards sat her in the same chair, that Theo had been seated in.

My eyes locked with Jill and if looks could kill, I’d be dead. All I could see, was pure hatred in her eyes.

I was feeling nervous, the anticipation was killing me. I couldn’t stop wiggling my legs anxiously. That’s when, Drake put his hand on my thigh and started to rub it gently. It instantly relaxed me. I looked up at him and smiled, I was grateful for the small act.

“We will begin Jill’s trial. Jill, you are charged with Treason, drugging Clair and attempt murder of Luna Isabella. How do you plead?” The elder asked.

“She deserves to die, she took everything from me. I should be Alpha Drakes Luna!” Jill spat out, with so much venom in her words.

“How do you plead?” The elder asked, again.

“Not guilty.” Jill barked, but her eyes remained locked on me.

“Very well. Let’s call up the first witness.” The elder announced.

Once again, the same process was repeated. Several witnesses provided evidence, including me.

The elders, deliberated for nearly an hour this time, before reaching a verdict.

“We have reached a verdict. We replace Jill guilty of all three counts. We believe, that if Jill was ever set free, she wouldn’t be able to let go of her deep hatred for Luna Isabella. She would always be a threat. Therefor, Jill will be put to death, after her baby is born.” The elder announced and the crowds erupted in gasps and whispers. Even I was shocked at the verdict.

“No! You can’t do that.” Jill shouted and I could see the panic in her faces.

“Jill, throughout this trial, you’ve shown us just how much hatred you hold for Luna Isabella. If you had shown, even a bit of remorse, this may have ended differently. However, the decision is final. Guards, bring her back to cells.” The elder instructed.

I watched as two guards dragged Jill out, kicking and screaming.

“You’ll pay for this!” Jill shouted, her eyes remained locked on me.

“That ends the trials for today, you are all dismissed.” The elder announced and the room started to clear out. I let out a breath of relief. This was finally over, Jill will never be a problem for us again.

Drake and I, left the room together.

“Well that went better then I expected.” Drake said and glanced down at me.

“Ya, I wish it didn’t have to be like that. Her poor baby won’t have a mother or father. If only, Jill could of gotten over her obsession with you, things would of ended differently.” I replied, with a frown.

I mean, I hate the women, but death is a harsh punishment. Having said that, the elders were right. She would always be a threat to me and my family, if she was set free.

“We will make sure, that her baby is probably cared of.” Alpha Drake said, in a reassuring tone.

“Ok, I need to head over to the hospital. I’ll come see you in your office, afterwards.”I said, as I got on my tip toes and kissed Drake on the lips.

“I’ll see you in a bit.” Drake replied and we went our separate ways.

I got to the hospital and walked in. The receptionist greeted me, before guiding me into one of the examination rooms.

I waited a few minutes, before Doctor Erickson came in.

“Good afternoon Luna.” He greeted, with a nod and I smiled at him.

“I’m going to do a general checkup, as well as a fertility assessment today.” The Doctor said.

“Sounds good.” I replied.

Once he was done, we headed to his office to discuss the results.

“You’re in great shape Isabella, I can’t see anything wrong with you, or your fertility.” The doctor announced and I let out a breath of relief.

“We haven’t used any protection, is it normal that I haven’t gotten pregnant yet?” I asked curiously.

“You two have been through a lot, stress can affect fertility drastically. Give it a bit more time, if nothing happens, then come back and we can look at other options.” The Doctor replied.

“Thank you Doctor.” I said, with a small smile, as I stood from my chair.

“You’re welcome Luna. Have a wonderful day.” The Doctor replied, while smiling back at me.

“You as well, Doctor.” I said and left the office.

I made my way to Drakes office, I knew he was anxious about this appointment and would want to know how it went.

I reached his door and knocked.

“Come in” I heard, before I opened the door and walked in.

“How did it go?” Alpha Drake asked curiously.

“Good. I’m healthy and fertile. Doctor figures, all the stress we have been through, could be affecting my fertility.” I replied, while shrugging my shoulders.

“That’s good news.” Drake said, as he stood from his chair and walked over to the door, before locking it. My eyebrow raised with curiosity, what is he up to?
