Ji’lahni POV:

Who the hell is banging on the door so loudly. I frowned because the guard knew I was sleeping that’s why I told him that he didn’t have to knock on the door. “Come in.” I said sitting up in my bad. The door burst open and Razz came barreling in like a big black round ball of fur. I smiled because I missed him it has been a few days since I last saw him. My smile slipped when I see who brought him. His aunt and her flunky. She had a too sweet smile, she obviously has an agenda she usually allows Razz’s sitter to bring him.

“Hey buddy I missed you looks like you’re getting big. You’re about to be a big boy.” I said rubbing his fur and cuddling him. He let out small bark. Before snuggling up to me. I see Summer scowls impatiently I guess waiting to get my attention. Sighing I looked up at the two women standing at the door. “Hello Summer and friend. I feel like you have something you need to get off you’re chest.” I said raising my eye brow like I’m the Rock’s sister.

They smiled at each other, I feel for my knife that my cousins left for me, just in case it was a situation that involved somebody cutting up. “You really thought you could come here and no one would replace out about you and your cousin’s agenda.” “Agenda? Listen. please stop with the foolery just say what you have to say and be done with it. Because I don’t have the time nor energy to waste on irrelevant folks.” I said Rolling my eyes shaking my head. “Oh trust me you won’t have to waste no more of your time here. As we speak someone is coming to remove you from our community. You and your cousins came here thinking you could wipe our kind out.” Summer sneered at me. I’m looking, Confused and thought she was losing her mind at this point.

“Our kind? Wipe out? What the f**k are you talking about and lastly no one is removing me from no where without my permission and without my cousins. I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about and frankly I’m tired of talking to you and your flunky.” I said to the foolishness they got going on. My hand was firmly on my knife handle and Razz was trembling tucking himself further under my arm he was causing some pain but I wasn’t about to make him move just in case these chick’s were feeling froggy.

“You fat bitches, came here trying to kill us all. When Kahi gets back and I tell him what you and your cousins were trying to do, he will not even think twice about you or your cousins and believe me my uncle will get a confession out of you one way or the other it really won’t matter to me or Kahi what happens to you after that.” She sneered loudly.

And I Laughed because I real life believe she was losing her damn mind. Me laughing must has pushed her over the edge because home girl charge right at me. I had to act quick so I pulled my knife and aimed it right at her f*****g throat she stopped as the tip of my blade nicked her skin. Getting up slowly with my blade still to her throat looking at her friend who’s looking like she wanted to do something. The doc just cleared me to do some short walks very slowly. But I’m not about to let these broads see me weak. Getting up slowly didn’t help the wave of dizziness I felt it took everything in me to stay upright. Razz was still cuffed in my arm which was screaming at me at this point.

“Now I need you and your goon to get the f**k out my room, now back the f**k up, you too dumber. Just then there was another knock on the door . I rolled my eyes like what the hell is happening when did my room become the meeting spot for everybody. Before I could say anything. It swung open with a bang. A tall big man stepped in with a bad a*s navy pinstripe suit he had a fresh cut with dark brown eyes that looked like he had no problem killing somebody with little reason. I got a little worried but I didnt let them see me afraid. Smiling at me stepping next to Summer looking between us.

“So little niece is this the human you called me about. She seems to have you at an disadvantage.” He said turning toward me. “Hello ma’am I’m Alpha Zane McKnight.” He said with a charming smile with his hand extended to shake, I look at his hand then him then my blade then back at him like you really think I’m going to lower my blade to shake your hand. Understanding my silence he chuckled and lowered his hand. “Has my niece explained the situation to you?” He asked putting his hand in his pocket walking back towards the door grabbing his niece by the arm pulling her away from my blade.

I relaxed a little and turned slightly to allow Razz to jump down on the bad which he promptly took a stand beside me growling clearly taking a side. I smiled as Summer gasped in shock when her pup growled at her when she reached for him. The older man glanced at Razz and his eyes soften a little looking at him before he turned back to me. “It seems that you and your cousins have been accused of something very disturbing. It seems as though your b***d has traces of something that is very lethal to my kind.”

“Hold up what the hell is happening this is the second time I’ve heard “our kind” What the hell does that even mean.” I said getting really nervous. He looks at me in surprise. He looks at Summer frowns and asks. “She doesn’t know?” Waving my blade to get his attention. “What dont I know? And what is me and my cousins being accused of exactly?” I said losing my patience. Turning back towards me with a smile on his face and then I see his eyes turning a golden honey. I take a step back as he steps towards me until my back hits the wall behind me. ” We are werewolves of course.” He said that s**t like it was normal.

“What the hell! Are yall crazy or some kind of cult.” I said looking around noticing that more men had come into the room looking like a football team, the room all of a sudden felt really small. “My dear we’re werewolves I’m the Alpha of the Nighthawk pack. You have been living amongst werewolves the whole time. I’m sure you have notice that there was something different about us?” Looking at me questioningly.

That made me think about all the strange and weird things that I have seen from the growling, eye color change, the way the people reacted when Kahi spoke. It all made sense but not really because there is no such thing as f*****g werewolves damn it. Seeing me doubt even my own thoughts. The man seems to be tired of trying to convince me turns and looks at Razz “Shift little pup.” Razz whines and backs up afraid. I step over to protect him. But the man never moved, his eyes changed color again “I said shift!” He sneered. All of a sudden Razz whined even louder and right before my eyes in what felt like minutes but it was less then 10 seconds Razz went from wolf to a tiny little boy.

“WHAT IN THE ENTIRE HELL!” I said without thinking. Razz looks at me with sadness in his eyes. Me still in open mouth shock he reaches for my hand and I snatched it away from him and then yelling in pain because I completely forgot my arm was f****d up and I’m sure that I just ripped a couple of stitches. Looking at me crying. “I sorwry LaLa please dont hate me.” Razz said through tears. I came out of my stupor looking at his face and gave him a small smile.

“It’s ok sweetie I was just shocked that’s all. I never seen a boy turn into a wolf before. I could never hate you sweet boy.” I said meaning every word. Although I’m still freaked the f**k out. I know Razz was just a baby. I see relief spread across his face at my words. Out the corner of my eyes I see movement and I’m back on high alert my grip on my blade tightens. Although I know I can’t win I know somebody getting sliced before I go down. Seeing me focus and scan the room. “Miss Nelson we don’t want to hurt you we just need you to come with us so we can have a little chat about why your b***d seems to contain something that can harm us.” he shrugged.

“Look I don’t know what you’re talking about, therefore we have nothing to chat about and I damn sure know I’m not going anywhere with you. That makes absolutely no kind of sense.” I said as I got into a ready position to defend any attack. My head is f*****g spinning and I feel like I’m about to vomit again. I have not been feeling well at all. I’m sure it’s because I may have been sneaking trying to walk on my own when no one was looking.

Look I hate being a burden so I wanted to get back to my old self and I couldn’t do that sitting in bed. I had the army crawl thing down pack. Focusing back on the men in the room. Trying to figure out how many of them I can hurt bad before they take my a*s out. Looking back at the Alpha he’s still smiling which is pissing me off werewolf or not he not about to think I’m just gone let him take me. “Funny your cousins said the same thing when we picked them up earlier.” He said with a smile. “What the hell did you just say?” I asked stepping towards the alpha pointing my blade to his chest.

His men instantly stepped forward but a wave of his hands stops them. “Oh maybe I should have lead with that huh? Yea I paid a visit to the hotel to pick them up before coming here.” My heart started beating fast I was starting to panic. “Where is my cousins what did you do to them.” “I haven’t done anything to them. I’m no animal. Oh well that’s not true I am an animal but I’m civilized. They did put up a hell of a fight I must say. I hope we can do this without any more bloodshed. You can just come with me and no one has to get hurt.”

He said like that was a good offer. Looking at Summer and her goon smiling enjoying the f*****g show. I know they’re responsible for whatever is going on. Sad part is you doing this only proves that you don’t think he loves you as much as you love him and you’re willing to mate him knowing all this.” I said laughing when she again tries to come at me I was really hoping she broke loose because I promise I would make sure she bled out. Turning back to the Alpha. Who was eyeing me with interest and something that look like desire. Giving him a disgusted look so he understands I am not interested at all.

He ignores the look and steps towards me again. “I must say you do interest me Miss Nelson I can see why the Alpha was interested in you.” He said reaching out to touch my braids but I pull my head back avoiding his touch. “Uncle can you please just get her out of here already. I’m tired of looking at her fat a*s.” Summer said right before she screamed when I sent my blade flying in her direction so close to her head that it nicked her cheek and cut some of her hair before it landed in the door frame. I smiled even though I was aiming for her mouth. I shrugged I hadn’t trained in 2 weeks so my aim was off.

Turning back to the Alpha I had no choice but to go with him since he had my cousins. “I’ll go with you. Just take me to my cousins.” I said as I walked slowly in order to keep my balance I had no idea how I was walking at all without looking drunk it must be adrenaline. Feeling a tug on my shirt I looked down to see Razz crying pulling me back. “Don’t go with the bad man LaLa you’re sick you can’t go.” Razz cried.

“Sweetie don’t worry about me I’ll be ok. I’m just going to talk with the alpha. Once everything is all cleared up. I’ll be back ok.” I said removing his hand from my shirt. Luckily he just nodded and cried silently. I walked slowly out of the bedroom door and out the front door there was a crowd forming outside as I walked pass some growled at me and some looked like they feared me. But I didnt dare show how scared I was. I just needed to make sure my cousins were safe. Before I broke down and freaked out.

Makahi POV:

“What’s the ETA Montago?” I asked for the 100th time I knew I was acting crazy but me and my wolf was going crazy needing to be near Ji’lahni. It had taken 3 days for the rogues to retreat the leader managed to escape leaving his rogue wolves to fend for themselves. We did found out that there was a inside person feeding them information on different packs. We needed go replace out who the trader was. We decided we have to limit the information between Alphas and their betas. Until we replace the trader we had to keep the circle of knowledge limited. “We’re 2 minutes out.” Montago responded. My wolf was pacing in my subconscious. I’ve decided to postpone the mating ceremony until I can figure stuff out with Ji’lahni. Regardless if it’s real or not I can’t mate Summer until I know for sure.

First I would talk to Summer, she deserved an explanation. As soon as we pass the gate my phone rung it was my mother she left to pick up Ji’lahni’s cousins. Answering the phone “yes mother?” “THEY’RE GONE KAHI THE GIRLS ARE GONE!” My mother yelled in a state of panic. “Calm down mother I’m sure they aren’t gone they may have just went to get something to eat or go shopping.”

“Kahi I’m telling you they’re gone. The locals said a bunch of mafia looking men came and took them.” My mother cried and I start to get nervous as we come to a complete stop. “Mother come back to the pack house and we will send some guards out to trace them.” I said ending the call not bothering to wait for an answer. Hopping out of the truck I headed towards my mother’s house. Before I could take 5 steps. Summer comes running out of the packhouse throwing herself in my arms. I unwound her arms not really hearing what she said because my main focus was to checking on Ji’lahni to see if she’s OK.

“ALPHA!” Montago yelled getting my attention I turned to see him standing next to Bruin with papers in his hand. “You need to see this.” He said holding the papers out to me. Grabbing the papers from him seeing Ji’lahni’s name on the top of what appears to be her lab work which I already know about frowning I look at Montago. “What’s going on the doc has already spoken to me about this. He wasn’t able to replace anything wrong or out of the ordinary.” I said frowning.

“Alpha there was another test that came back after you spoke with him.” Bruin said looking nervous. Reading the results from the lab. I couldn’t believe what the result said. “This has to be a mistake. That’s impossible. Montago with me we’re going to question her.” I said turning to leave Summer stepped in front of me with her hands out looking distraught. “You can’t question her because she isn’t here.” She said nervously.

“WHAT!” I turn back looking at Bruin who now looked like he was about to passout. I was barely keeping My wolf at bay stalking up to Bruin. “Where the hell is she?” “Alpha when Summer informed me of the result I thought it was best to remove the threat from the premises. I couldn’t reach you and I couldn’t have the guards remove her because we were already stretched thin.

Summer informed me that her uncle was in route to the counsel compound and said he wouldn’t mind removing the human women to the compound for questioning.” Before he could finish his explanation I lift him in the air by the throat. “Please tell me you didn’t send the humans with Zane McKnight.” I ask I was half shifted my control was slipping at the thought of Zane being with Ji’lahni.

Struggling to breathe I let Bruin drop to the ground. “First you make a major decision about the humans without my approval then you sent them with that lunatic Zane?” “Alpha please I thought I was doing the right thing miss Summer was wrecked with fear and crying uncontrollable at the thought of what those humans were capable of doing. She’s our future Luna and I wanted to protect her and the women and children in our pack.” He said nervously.

I turned to Summer who looked more nervous. “So you suggested that your uncle should remove the humans who were under my protection?” I asked her stalking to stand in her face barely keeping it together. I saw her go from nervousness to anger. “Those human bitches has been nothing but trouble since they arrived. I have been telling you that it wasn’t a good idea.

One of them attack me your mate and once I learned of the result I wanted them gone and my uncle was happy to make sure I was safe and took away the threat. You should be thanking him for protecting your mate.” She sneered loudly with tears in her eyes. “You know as well as I do what your uncle is capable of. They could have been locked in my cellars until I returned not handed to your uncle.” I sneered sending a little of my alpha aura out of me which had Summer whimpering. Still staring at Summer.

“Get Zane McKnight on the phone now. Found out where he took Ji’lahni.” I said walking around Summer ignoring her pleads to talk I didn’t trust myself around Summer nor Bruin at the moment. I needed to think I can’t believe Ji’lahni and her cousin were planning to harm anyone. Heading into the direction of my mother’s house to check Ji’lahni room and to wait for my mother. I was barley able to control my wolf. My mother may very well kill Summer and Shadow will lose control it was clear that he cared for Shawna. How could I not know or suspect they had agenda.

What the hell did they have in their b***d and what was their plans. There was so many unanswered questions and I have no way of replaceing out because Ji’lahni wasn’t here. Stepping into my mother’s house I was immediately hit the the stink of Zane and he pack members. But even with all the different scent I can smell Ji’lahni as clear as if she was standing next to me. My wolf wanted b***d he wanted to hurt the men who took our woman.

Going into her room I immediately see her blade embedded into the door frame her room didn’t seem like there was a struggle which I’m sure it wasn’t because of her weaken state. I see her medication still on the night stand so I know she is in alot of pain which only made the l**t for b***d worsen. Hearing the door open thinking it was my mother but instead it was Razor. Squatting down I scooped him up. “He buddy how’s it going? You can’t see Ji’lahni right now she’s not here.” I sad gently. “No! The bad man took her and he made me shift in front of her. I didn’t want to do it because you told me not to. But the bad man made me do it and it hurted me alot I tried to protect her but the bad man was really scary.”

“What! They told her were werewolves?” I asked Razor which he nodding sadly. “Please don’t punish me for disobeying you. I really tried not to shift be I couldn’t hold it.” Razor cried. “Hey your not in trouble. This wasn’t your fault you didn’t do anything wrong. I promise I will replace her now go back to your house to wait for your aunt” I said putting him down.he was heading for the door just as my mother slung the door open with a bang her I can see the anger and worry along with her wolf Shera in her eyes along with my father and Shadow who looks equally as mad but he looked deadlier.

“Did you replace them? Did you replace my girls?” My mother asked through tears as she hugs me. I lead her to the couch because she needs to be sitting to hear this. As I tell her what happened she is in disbelief and Shadow is now pacing like a changed animal. His claws are extended, his black eyes were front and center, and he’s growling. “These are all lies I know they aren’t trying to kill us. I don’t care what those labs say. We need to get them from Zane we can questioned them here. Zane is a ruthless bastard.” My mother said crying silently. “We’ll get to the bottom of this but we can’t rule out what the result are showing us.”

“Kahi I’m telling you they wouldn’t do this you need to get them back.” She said. “I’m about to return to the pack house Montago is calling Zane now to arrange a pick up. I will keep you posted whenever I replace out anything.” I said getting up walking out the front door. I’m trembling with rage. Reading the lab report it’s telling me in black and white that their b***d contains a substance which can harm us. I can’t understand how it’s even possible unless they were trying to kill our kind. I can’t believe I ever thought that Ji’lahni could be my mate. Was this their plan all along? I need answers now.

Walking into the pack house heading directly to my office I see Montago, Shadow, Bruin, and Summer. Montago was on the line with Zane he switched it to speaker phone once I entered. Hearing his voice had my wolf going crazy with the thought of Ji’lahni anywhere near him. Even though I no longer believe Ji’lahni was my mate my wolf wasn’t convinced. “Zane.” I said to let him know he is now to speak to me.

“Makahi as I was telling your beta I don’t think it’s wise to release the humans giving the information we retrieved from your lab. It is in the best interest for us all if they remained locked up and interrogated until we can replace out their master plan behind this disturbing replaceing. My niece was deathly afraid of what those human women would do once they were found out she has already suffered at the hands of one of those humans because of your failure to protect her.” He said with authority and arrogance.

“Well Alpha Zane I didn’t bother asking for your opinion on the matter. Now tell me which encampment did you transfer them to and hope that I can defuse the situation you and your niece have caused.” I sneered. I know my wolf cane forward to respond to the other alpha and I allowed him because he had to respond to the disrespect of another alpha. Now I have to go now the injured one is a little spitfire and by far my favorite aside from the other taller one.” He said with a chuckle as he hung up. Causing Shadow to rip the door off its hinges then shifting as soon as he hit the ground. They confessed why would they do that. Unless they really did come here to hurt us how could I be so foolish. I am angry and hurt my wolf has retreated back in my subconscious howling in pain.

“Kahi I forgive you for not listening to me when I said those humans were nothing but trouble. I know I shouldn’t have called my uncle but I just couldn’t sleep or feel safe knowing they were still on our land. But now that they confessed let’s put all this stuff behind us and go ahead with out plans to mate and mark each other. Summer said walking slowly beside me as I try and think and comprehend everything from the moment Ji’lahni got here.

“YOU b***h! YOU DID THIS TO MY GIRLS. I WILL RIP YOUR THROAT OUT! My mother yelled leaping across the chair in my office claws out aiming for Summer’s neck my father was able to grabbed her before she could reach her target. “Mother you have to calm down. They confessed to everything. The counsel was notified and gave Alpha Zane the rights to do as he sees fit. It was all a lie they were playing us all for fools.” I said with anger and defeat.

“That’s a lie it’s impossible they would never do such a thing. Getting up my mother looks at me with disappointment in her eyes.

“Son I never thought a day would come where I would be in a disagreement with your choices as an Alpha I thought me and your father taught you better then to take things at face value and always be mindful of the company you keep. I’m not blind I saw how you treated and looked at Ji’lahni. I thought you wouldn’t bow down to what was considered traditional. But I guess I was wrong. You can mate Summer but you want have my blessing.” With that said my mother left without another word or second glance.
