Approaching the pack house felt different. Maka wanted to go back to our pups and Jilahni, and so did I so the quicker I get this done the quicker we could go back to the clinic. Maka huffed and retreated to the back of my mind. As I entered the pack house I was glad the common area was empty. It is always pretty empty a couple of hours before dinner mainly because the guards that worked the day shift were just getting off and they liked to shower and relax before dinner. I headed straight to my office where Montego was at my desk going over paperwork he really did step up to the plate when I needed him most. “Hey new papa how are the twins?” He asked getting up from the desk allowing me to take a seat in my chair. “They’re great I left them with my parents so I could come and handle some business and inform the pack that my dad would be taking over as acting alpha until Ji’lahni wakes up.” I said with no doubt about the last part because she will wake up.

“I’m glad, because your job sucks a*s, no offense.” He said with a shake of his head. I laughed. Thanks for covering for me. I really appreciate it.” I said as I sat at my desk. “Don’t you dare you know we always have each other back. But there is something I want to run by you.” He paused suddenly looking nervous which I found weird. “What is it?” I asked with my brow raised. “Well me and Lynn were talking about it, well mostly me. I want to try and mark her. Diago has been really anxious wanting to mark her. He’s getting aggressive not wanting other males in the same room with her.” He said shaking his head. “Do you think that’s a good idea you’re the beta and you know their b***d is poisonous to wolves.” I said. “I know but Diageo insist that the moon godess wouldn’t give us a mate that would harm us, and being your beta has been my whole life ever since we were pups. But I’m willing to risk it to mark my mate its hard to put into words. She’s my peace she’s my life.” He said with conviction. “I get it, If you’re completely sure you want to do this I want you to take precautions. This is not a normal mating so you will mark her at the clinic and you can complete the mating where ever you want. Is that something you can agree with?” I asked. “Yes, I understand I’ll tell Lynn tonight after dinner.” Montego said relaxing.

After that he helped me finish my work. I would make the announcement about my dad taking over at dinner as well. Glancing at the clock dinner would start in a few minutes. I’ll go down for dinner then grab some clothes and head back to the clinic I’ll shower there I want to get back to my girls as soon as possible. We headed for the dinning hall but stopped by the girls rooms on the way so Montego could escorts Lynn to the dinning hall. They decided to go back with me to the clinic after dinner, because they have to drop off some stuff, but also wanted to see the twins. They loved the nicknames too they were confident that Ji’lahni would love the names as well.

As soon as I entered the dinning hall in the pack house. Everyone stopped talking and looked up. I nodded to everyone as I walked in. Then out of no where I hear a loud scream and it was none other then my mate. st! I just remembered she insisted on moving into the pack house. Looking at the girls behind me I can tell this isn’t about to end well. fk! “Baby you’re back! I missed you so much I have been trying to mindlink you but you mistakenly blocked me. Now that you’re back we can finally start our new life together.” Summer said as she jumped into my arms. I felt our bond stronger now that we were close together. I wrapped my arms around her and inhaled her familiar scent. The need to be closer to her grew the more we stood there. “OMG! can yall take that s**t to your room we’re trying to have dinner and go see my cousin and her babies.” Mina said loudly. Snapping me out of that bonded hase. I instantly released Summer she glared at me I see she’s hurt that I let her go. But that quickly turned into anger when she spotted the girls behind me.

“What the hell are they doing here. Why aren’t they in cages.” Summer said with a disgust. “See Montego this is why we didn’t want to be here.” Lynn said with a calmness that gave me goose bumps. “Well none of us wants you here so maybe yall should take a hint and leave.” Summer sneered. This time Shawna laughed. “You really wanna talk about taking hints? Please take this hint if you feel the need to talk about me and my cousins every time we see you then understand your face isn’t pregnant.” Shawna finished walking by us to take the sit Shadow saved for her. “Can you be civil just once.” I said to Summer. “I don’t understand why they aren’t locked away for trying to attack me.” Summer whined. “Listen we’ll talk about it later. Let’s just get through dinner first.” I said stepping around her walking to the empty seat at the head of the table with Summer on my heels she pulled her chair closer to me.

I stood up wanting to do the announcement before dinner was serve. “OK listen up I have a few things I need to share with you. First I’m sure everyone is aware that…” I paused Maka knowing what I was about to say and came to the surface immediately not wanting to acknowledge that we marked Summer and that she was now the Luna of Crystal moon pack. Clearing my throat pushing Maka back to my subconscious I started again. “I know some of you know by now that I have marked Summer and she is to be our new luna.” I said quickly. There were a lot of shocked faces and quite a few had sad sorrowful looks on their faces most of them, were omegas, they weren’t to fond of Summer because she could be a bit dramatic and hard to deal with so I get it only a few people clapped. Summer immediately stood up bedside me grabbing my hand beaming and glowing. “I want everyone to know that as your luna I will make sure that our pack is ran with class and dignity.” She said which made Mina and Lynn go into a coughing and choking fit, causing others to snicker.

Summer rolled her eyes and continued. “I have already thought of some changes that I will be making immediately. The first will be that all over night guess has to be approved by me or my gamma who I have chosen my best friend Britney.” I could only shake my head looking at the wide eyed shock expression on my pack house members. I knew I needed to cut her off immediately. I cleared my throat to stop her. I didn’t know anything about a damn list and she needs to understand that she’s to come to me about any changes she wants to make. “We’ll put that discussion on the agenda for another time. Now my father will be acting alpha for the next few weeks. As I have to be there for my twin pups while their mother is..” I trailed off this time Maka had nothing to do with it. This pause was due to the lump that formed in my throat at the mention of Ji’lahni. My pack members also felt that emotion because they had the look of sadness as well. Swallowing the lump I continued. “Their mother has had a traumatic pregnancy and her body needs time to heal. The girls are really tiny and need to be near their mother right now to be fed. So I will be there until Ji’lahni has fully recovered.” I finished. Everyone nodded in understanding.

“WHAT?! You can’t be serious Kahi. We’re mated now. How will that look my mate staying with another female and her pups. You could assign someone else to stay there with her and she has her family there too. What about me, your mate and our pup. Are you seriously going to stay there? You still can’t possibly think those pups are yours. Alpha’s only bare males. Mina and Shawna burst out laughing looking at each other as the held up their shoe seeing that they all head the same idea.

Britney shifted in a flash and leaped onto the table ready to attack just as the girls each pulled a weapon out and aimed it at Britney’s wolf. “Yo! Hearing a growl I glanced at Montego I see Lynn also nodding her head in solidarity all three of them were in agreement. “ENOUGH! I will not allow anyone including your gamma to disrespect any member of my pack or their mates. I will be staying at the hospital with MY pups until their mother is healthy enough to care for them. But keep in mind that you and Brittany also commited crimes, luna or not if you want people to pay for their crimes as you say then you should be able to do the same.” I said raising my brows waiting for her answer she lowers her head just like I figured she would.

“Britney I have mindlinked your uncle he will be here shortly.” Turning back to everyone. “Sure dad. You came just in time I just told the pack that you will be acting Alpha until I return. I will let you reach out to our allies to inform them of the change… Montego will also help as well.” I told him. “Sounds good son. No worries I’ve done this before I think I still got it.” He said looking every bit of the Alpha he once was. “Your mother did say for you to make sure you eat and rest a few hours before you head back to the clinic.” He said with a shrug just as the omegas brought the food out. I nodded and walked back to my chair This is about to be the fastest dinner on the planet. I will eat here, but I’ll rest when I get back to the clinic. Maka was clawing and growling to get back to his pups and Ji’lahni and I must admit I felt the same way. I wish I knew what the hell was happening. Why is my connection with Jilahni still there why didn’t it snap when I marked Summer. Why is my and Summer’s bond not as strong as it should be even with only my mark.
