Shawna’s POV:

I couldn’t stop the tears from falling which is why I got the hell out of the living room. I refused to show him how his actions really affected me. These damn hormones got me super emotional. I will not intentionally break my own heart. Shadow is still mated to that crazy b***h, and by his actions he is still in love with her, so there is no need to try and win a losing battle. I refuse to try and make him choose me that is something he will need to do on his own, with no help from me begging him to stay. I won’t keep him away from his baby, but there is nothing else between us. There was a knock on the door, and I already know who’s on the other side. “Just come in I’m surprised it took yall this long.” I said chuckling. “Yea, we had to give Shadow a piece of our minds. You already know we would have beat you up here, any other time.” Mina said smiling, I loved my cousins, they always try and lift your spirits no matter what the cause is. We replace laughing along with crying through the pain always helped us from breaking completely down.

“What did you say to him because there is nothing else to talk about. His wife is still alive, and he is trying to get her back so he can fix whatever is broken in her. I’m not trying to compete with a dead woman who came back to life and wants her man back especially when he was never truly over her to begin with. He always said he sometimes felt the bond, but he knew she was dead. But it turns out he was dead a*s wrong. I was thinking of going back to Uncle Felix’s pack, once we get the twins back. I don’t want to have to always deal with the heartache every time I see Shadow especially If he does get his mate back.” I said as stupid tears fell from my eyes. “Well, if you go so will I, that way Lynn will be here with Lahni and the girls, and I will be with you and the baby.” Mina said already changing her plans. I already knew she would say that because I would have said the same thing if I were in her shoes. “So, what happened while I was out? I already know that b***h tried to kidnap me, but what I don’t know is why?” I asked frowning trying to think of a reason I was targeted.

“Hell, we don’t know either, we could only guess is that Shadows mate wanted to get rid of you, because Shadow cares about you and you’re having his baby.” Lynn said, shrugging. “So, what is this about me being healed by a damn dragon and will I turn into a dragon at some point because nothing about being a dragon says I’m going to be cute.” I said and we all burst out laughing. “Shut up dummy you are not turning into a damn dragon. But I had to call my family in to heal you with one of their dragons because apparently the zombie b***h stabbed you with a blade that belonged to my brother and when some one cuts you with it you will bleed out no matter how small the cut is it is a magical blade that is infused with dragons b***d to help a rider protect it’s dragon during a time of war and only dragons breath can heal a wound done with a dragons blade. When he healed you he said that you will have some of his essence in your body until you give birth and that your baby will carry dragon essence forever, but not in a bad way he may inherit some of a dragon’s traits, but we won’t know if or when it will happen. ” Lynn said and I try and process what she just told me.

“So, you’re telling me that my baby will have dragon traits as well as being half werewolf.” I said, in a panic what would that mean for my baby will it survive will it be accepted? “Calm down the dragon assured me that the baby will be fine and even with his essence it won’t harm the baby in any way. We made sure that the baby would be fine. But that was the only option we had to save you and the baby, and we just couldn’t lose you and the baby.” Mina said as tears fell from her eyes. I already know what she was thinking because I was thinking the same thing when is was Ji’lahni who was hurt and when I thought Shadow’s mate killed the only family I had left. “Hey, I’m fine, you already know I wasn’t going anywhere I’m sure Ji’lahni would have found a way to bring me back just so I can finally replace that fur jacket I burned shooting fireworks at her when we were kids.” I said, thinking about old memories before we lost our family. “OMG! She said that s**t to when we were waiting for the doc too tell us how you were doing.” Lynn said , laughing. “I swear she will not let that s**t go. I don’t care what happens she’s not letting me go nowhere without me buying her a damn fur jacket and the b***h wants a real fur jacket. I’m absolutely not buying her a real fur jacket. That jacket I ruined was everything but real.” I said, as we all laughed.

There was a light knock on the door before Ji’lahni stepped into the room. “What are yall laughing about?” Lahni asked as she sat on the bed. “They were telling me what happened while I was out and that you brought up that damn fur jacket again, Like a b***h can’t be in a comma without you talking about that damn jacket.” I said throwing my pillow at her head. “Hell, no you not going no where until you get me another damn coat. Anyway, the doc is here to check on you and the baby do you want him in here or in the living room.” “No, I’ll come down it’s more space downstairs and I already know yall asses want to see and hear everything.” I said getting up heading to the bathroom to freshen up. “Ok we will be downstairs waiting on you, hurry up so we can see our baby.” Ji’lahni said as they headed out the door. I know lahni was trying to do any and everything to not think about the babies, hell we all were doing. If we didn’t we would be all ugly crying, which I’m sure we will be doing at some point very soon. But we will stop at nothing to get our babies back. I didn’t say anything in front of them, but I kind of wish they had let me be taken, then at lease I would have probably been with the twins to protect them and make sure they were ok. I thought to myself as I cried in the shower. Because I could no longer hold back the tears.

Downstairs from the outside looking in POV:

Ji’lahni, Lynn, and Mina came downstairs.

“Hey Doc Shawna, said she will be down in a minute, you can set up down here.” Ji’lahni said as she went to sit on The Alpha’s lap as he pulled her in his embrace. Everyone can tell they are barely holding it together and trying to remain strong for everyone else. No one can imagine what they must be going through. “My mother says that her and Lynn’s grandmother will want us to meet before the meeting begins so once we are done here we will shower and head over to the pack house.” The alpha said as everyone nodded. “Makahi have you tried reaching out to your pups like you did when we were searching for Ji’lahni?” Mina asked jumping up, thinking of that just now. “No! I didn’t think of it, they had only reached out to me when they were in distress or upset.” The alpha said closing his eyes trying to focus on his pups. After a few minutes he opened his eyes with disappointment, shaking his head and Ji’lahni hugged him tightly.

“Hey, Doc, I heard you were here to see me.” Shawna said trying to sound cheerful and failing. She was trying super hard not to look in the direction of shadow who was looking so hard trying to will her to at least look at him. “Yes Miss Nelson, the commander here asked that I come check on you while we were at the clinic earlier.” He said escorting Shawna to one of the chairs at the dining room table. “Well, we will go while upstairs and get showered and changed for the meeting while you get checked out.” The alpha said getting up from his chair kissing Ji’lahni before heading upstairs with Montego doing the same to Lynn. The girls notice Shadow still sitting across the room. They looked at Shawna and silently asked what she wanted them to do, because they would kick his a*s right out if that was what she wanted.

Closing her eyes taking a deep breath. She looked over at Shadow who looked afraid that she would ask him to leave. She simply lifted her hand and reached out to him because she just couldn’t form the words to say anything without getting choked up. He damn near tripped over his own feet getting to Shawna grabbing her hand and pulling a chair next to her. The girls stepped back and allowed them their moment.
