chapter 12

Lila POV

Jackson has to text me constantly about the breeders. I should've justgone myself. I have got three says to get another breeder ready for Mr.Craig's auction on Saturday night. I wonder how he plans to explainthat to Tatina. She will hate him when she replaces out. As soon as shedecides she is done with him, I will auction her off.

I believe I can still get a pretty penny for her. He just had to take hervirginity, but considering the tribe, she is from I can still get a lot ofmoney for her. There are not many left from the aurora tribe. My phoneis dinging again. I check my phone. Jackson. Damn him. He doesn'thave enough sense to even walk around.

“Got three. Adeline, Adomele, and Aurora *

Well, finally the boy did something right. We have to keep them in thebasement far away from Tatina. I cannot have her feeling sorry for themand letting them go. I will let Mr. Craig enjoy her for a while then I willmake sure she knows everything he is up to.

Tatina POV

I am exhausted. I lay down in my bed. I have cried until I don't think Ican cry anymore. I don't understand why he is mad at himself over me. Ienjoyed being with him. It was nice to have someone touch me. I wantto know why he was upset. I am going to ask him tomorrow. I probablyshouldn't but I need to know.

Enough feeling sorry for myself. I am in a beautiful home full ofeverything my heart could possibly desire. I could text Jayne and ask forher help. Lila said Jayne's number is saved in my new phone. I get outmy phone and scroll for Jayne's number. I select her name from thecontact list.

*Jayne. It is me Tatina. Mr. Craig got me a phone. I want to talk whenyou have time*

Hopefully, she will get back to me soon. I wait patiently for herresponse. I take the phone with me to bed. I want to sleep. The phonedings.

*Hey Love. I am working the vampire authority auction close by. I willbe home tomorrow. I will come by at noon to take you to lunch andshow you the city. I will let Craig know. *

I text back. * See you then*

Great. I can get some answers tomorrow. I curl up and close my eyes.Craig POV

I have to apologize to her tomorrow. I know she is heartbroken. Myphone dings.

*1 will be home tomorrow. I will be picking Tatina up at noon for lunch. Ihope to see you too*

Jayne, she always knows when she is needed. I don't want to see heryet. I will make sure Tatina is ready for Jayne tomorrow. I will go up andapologize to her.

I go up the stairs slowly. I have no idea what to say to her when I get upthere. I come to her door and knock lightly.

"Tatina can I come in?" I ask.

She doesn't answer. I turn the door and it is locked. A good girl shelistens. I take the key to her room out of my pocket. I insert the key andunlock the door.

When I go into her room she is curled up in the bed asleep. Her face ispuffy. She has been crying. I hate that I upset her so much. I brush herhair from her face. I kiss her on the forehead. She opens her eyes andlooks at me. She is not scared.

"Hi," she says softly.

I smile at her. "Can I lay with you?" I ask.

She moves over to make room for me in the bed with her. I gently lay inthe bed with her. I wrap my arm around her. I snuggle her. I could layhere next to her forever.

"Can I stay here with you all night?" I ask her softly.

"Yes," she says.

"Jayne is coming for you tomorrow. She is taking you to lunch,” I say toher.

She snuggles in closer to me. "Okay," she says.

She drifts off to sleep. I watch her sleep for a while. She is beautiful. Iwill give her everything. I will give her more than I ever was able to giveJulie.
