Tatina POV

My entire body hurts. I am so weak from the drugs. Here I am a guestin a vampire's home. He is being kind, but I cannot forget he also hassomeone in his basement. I cannot wait to hear the explanation for allof this

Poor Jayne. She tried to help me and look where it lands her on the run.I bet it was Glenn. Why did Glenn pretend to help me or tell me to dothose things only to text me and set off my own personal hell?

The things he did to me. The way he hit me. The way he raped merepeatedly. I soiled myself over and over. The smell of my bodily fluidsall over me while he was pounding into me. Then beat me for notenjoying it.

Those stories of how he loved his precious Julie. Lies Just all Lies. I hopehe is dead. I hope he can never hurt another woman again. I wonder ifany of it was true. I hope someone kills Glenn too.

I ate everything Draco provided me. I wonder why he is being nice.What does he stand to gain for helping me? Why would Jayne trust himto care for me? These people and this auction business have to stop.The fairies have to be protected.

I am just a nobody how can I think I could ever protect anyone. I amnot anyone important. I am just a young woman in the absolute worstmess. At least I am not in the basement.

“Do you need help back to the bed?” Draco asks me.

He has sat there silently. “I am still very weak. My body hurts and I feeldizzy,” I say.

“I will be gentle,” he says.

He scoops me up easily. He carries me back to the bed. He lays meacross it. “I will send someone to get you clothes,” he says.

“Thank you. I would very much appreciate that,” I say.

“There are a few things that belonged to my sister in the drawers. Youare welcome to any of it. She was tiny like you,” he says.

“Was?” I inquire.

"Yes, was tiny. She died a few years ago. That is a story for another day,”he says.

“Was she a vampire too,” I ask?

“No, she was a fairy. Just like you,” he says.

He turns to leave me to rest.

“Wait,” I say.

He stops. “Are you a hybrid?” I ask.

I can tell he is not ready to talk to me about all of this.

“Tatina I am the bad guy. You need to trust me long enough to be safeand then get far away. There is no need to get to know me,” he says.“Please tell me are you?” I ask again.

"Yes, I am a hybrid. More vampire than fairy but a hybrid nonetheless,”he answers reluctantly.

"Did they take her?” I ask.

"Who?" he says.

“Your sister. Did the vampire authority take her?” I ask.

“Tatina please, not right now. I really need to go down and settle in myother house guest,” he says.

“Please do not hurt her,” I say.

“I have no intentions of hurting her. I never have any intentions ofhurting anyone. I have done nothing but help these poor womenescape,” Draco says.

“I am so confused,” I say.

“I know and I will be happy to explain everything later. I need to gocheck on her and make sure she is comfortable,” he says.

He leaves the room. I am more confused right now than the day I wasdragged out of my home and painted up like a whore to be auctionedoff to the highest bidder. What are these people really doing?

I want to know everything that is going on. First I have to heal my bodyis a mess. I am weak. I am so sleepy. I lay my head down and drift offinto a perfect slumber.

I awake to the smell of the most delicious food. Henry has brought inthree trays. I hear Draco coming up the stairs. He is talking withsomeone. He opens the door. A beautiful young woman enters withhim.

“Tatina this is Aurora,” he says.

She runs into the room and lands on the bed with me.

“Careful,” Draco says.

She wraps her arms around me. “Are you okay?” she asks me.

“I am now. Are you?" I ask.

“I am now. Draco saved me,” she says.

“Me too,” I say.

This man has a lot of explaining to do. The meanest man on the planetis out saving fairies and no one knows it.

“Let me help you so we can all eat together. I am starving,” she says.She gently takes my hand. I am still so weak. Draco rushes over toscoop me up yet again. I have to start walking again soon.

“Will the drugs ever be out of my system?” I ask.

“I have no idea how much he was giving you. Maybe by tomorrow, youcan walk. Aurora can help you bathe until you are steady. I am sure medoing it was embarrassing enough,” Draco says.

“That would be great,” I say.

“I am having a bed moved up here in this room so the two of you canshare a room,” he says.

“Oh. So you do not keep people tied up in the basement,” I ask.

“No, I had to have her delivered like that. I tried talking to her at Craig'sshe wouldn't listen to me. She forced me into putting on a show,”Draco says.

“I am so thankful. You have to know I was terrified there. Lila was awful.She kept taking my clothes and beating me. That creepy guy enmo ormon whatever his name was kept licking my face. It was gross,” Aurorasays.

“Why did you finally trust him?” I ask.

“He drank from me and we connected thoughts. He let me know hewas trying to help. I was still scared. I was so scared he was going torape me when he got me here. Even after I saw how pure his thoughtswere. Lila kept telling me all the way here about the awful things hewould do to me,” she says.

“You are both safe now and Jayne owes me dinner?” Draco saysjokingly.

“What?” I ask.

“I approached Jayne to get you out. Lila was planning to kill you. WhenI found out I approached Jayne. She does not know I bid on thesewomen to help them. I told her I would help as long as she didn'tinterfere with my prize, restored my auction privileges, and had dinnerwith me. I have to be careful of my thoughts. Some of you can readminds,” He says.

“I see. This facade must be draining,” I say.

“It is all worth it,” he says.

“You don't care that people think you are worse than the devil,” I ask?“No. I have something I have to do. It means I have to be what theyneed me to be. Only people that know are the fairies I have helped. Iwant to keep it that way,” he says.

I nod in acknowledgment of his good deeds. “I understand,” I say.

“I am going to leave the two of you to talk. I have to try to replace Jayne. Iwill let you know what I replace out,” Draco says.

We open the third tray left untouched to replace cheesecake. Aurora and Ieat the cheesecake quickly. I have not had something so yummy inages.
