Chapter 2

Natalie is jolted out of her reverie, the sound of heavy boots thundering towards her room. her omega whimpers inside of her fearfully. Natalie wraps her and around her b*dy in a bid to protect herself when the door is thrown open. Three large and bulky guards burst into the room. Natalie scrambles up, scared and confused.

“W–what’s going on?” She asks but is ignored, the guards grabbing her arms without a shred of courtesy. Their iron grip bruising her skin. Her question went unanswered as the guards continue to restrain her.

Natalie’s heart raced as confusion and fear swallowed her whole. “What’s going on? Let go of me.” She cried out, unable to understand a thing. She’s not kept in the dark for much longer as Luther stepped into the room. The first thing Natalie noticed is his bloodshot eyes, his pale and drained face. His eyes filled with indescribable anger, he looked at her like she was the most worthless scum on earth. Natalie cowered in fear, Luther’s honeysuckle scent had gone sour and bitter, leaving a distaste taste.

“A–Alpha..w–what’s going on?” She stuttered out but If by anything, her voice seemed to anger him the more.

Luther looks at the guards behind him and nods. “Search every nook and cranny of this room, every clothe, book, vase, clothe. Search everywhere and bring it to me.” He ordered them. Natalie watched in fright as the guards began to turn the place upside dow, throwing everything she had on the ground, breaking and pulling things. She looked at Luther with panicked eyes, her voice trembling.

“Alpha, w–what’s going on?” She asked again but is met with silence, the guards still holding her in place like she would run away. Natalie had no idea what was happening exactly. It’s been exactly one day after her confrontation with Eleanor and she’s been mustering a way to tell Luther of her pregnancy, except he’s been everywhere with Eleanor and Natalie has barely been able to see him until now.

“I’ve found it.” One of the guard voiced out. Natalie’s eyes drop to the box in his hands, her eyes widening as soon as she recognizes what it was.

“W–what? Wait! That’s mine.” She says, panicking as she watched the guard give Luther the box. Luther stared at her deathly, his eyes filled with anger and disbelief, he grabs the box quickly, pulling the cover open.

“Alpha.”

Luther discarded the content on the floor, singling out just one thing. A letter. The sight of the letter sent a shiver down Natalie’s spine. A letter Natalie had written months

ago. She knew what the letter contained. Her heart beat rapidly increased, her b*dy went stiff with fear as she watched Luther look at the letter and back at her. He could feel every emotion running through her veins. He felt crazed at the thoughts running through his head. He didn’t want to believe it. He knew her more than this. She wouldn’t. She would never. Yet, the panic, the deep rooted fear going through her veins scared him terribly.

Luther swallowed harshly, his hands shaking slightly, he looks at Natalie whose eyes was stuck on the letter and prayed with everything inside of him for this to be some sick f**king prank. He slowly pulled the letter open, his eyes running through the inked words on the paper.

Natalie watched the single bit of trust in Luther’s eyes vanish, his hand falling to his side. He looked at her, his eyes blood shot red, the veins in his n*eck rising with nothing but a whistling sound ringing heavily in his ears. Natalie was crippled with fear, it was

overwhelming. The anger she could feel emitting from the mate bond. She’s never felt something this horrifying.

“You..” he starts slowly, his voice was low and laced with venom that sent a shiver down Natalie’s spine. She’s quick to shake her head.

Luther could feel it, the terror coursing throughly her vein. Eleanor was right. Natalie has been..

“You weren’t supposed to read it. You weren’t.” She starts, her voice shaking incredibly much. Desperately trying to salvage any semblance of trust.

Luther scoffed bitterly, throwing the letter at her.

“I wasn’t meant to read you writing in full descriptive detail every entrance to the pack, every corner where the guards are stationed at. I wasn’t meant to read you betraying the pack? Betraying me?” His voice dropped with venom, his words hung in the air, a damning indictment. his b*dy trembling with anger.

Natalie’s eyes widen at the accusation, her b*dy freezing up at his words, shoulders hunched in fright. Betray the pack?

“What? I wouldn’t. I would never.” She clutched at the shreds of her shattered world. She shook her head, desperate. From the corner of her eyes she saw them walk in, their eyes filled with disappointment, anger and rage at her. Eleanor stood beside the three sisters and the few pack members that had no gathered.

“You would never? Then explain to me what this damn letter contained. Explain to me why there was a f**king letter that was addressed to you by them?” Luther chuckled, it’s dry, empty and bitter. He raked his hair backwards, his thoughts running wildly.

“You’ve been the one selling the pack out. You’ve been the mole we have all been searching for. You’ve stayed in this pack for years. I’ve given you everything you have ever asked for. I took you as my mate, the Luna of this pack and what do you give me in return? What do you give us in return? You betray the pack.” He chuckles bitterly again.

Natalie’s face run pale, her b*dy growing weak as his words echo in her head, tears has begun to stream down her cheeks. What was he saying? She betrayed the pack? Letters exchanged? She thrashed in the hold of the guards, desperately trying to get to Luther. The letter only contained her confessing her feelings. She had stupidly thought she was in a romantic story and penned her feelings down to him. She had opened and emptied her heart out to him but couldn’t pass it to him. She couldn’t give it to him and instead the letter ended up in the box where she kept it safe in hopes of the day she would grow a pair and actually give it to him, except the day had now turned black for her.

“I didn’t. I–I didn’t.” Natalie stammered, her head spinning in different directions at the same time. She was grasping for anything at this point.

“You have to believe me. I don’t know what you’re talking about. I- I have been in here all day. The letter only contains.” She stalls, looks at Luther’s eyes but not even a layer of trust was there. Natalie thrashed in the guards hold, managing to free herself for a second. She falls to the ground, scampering for the letter Luther read and concluded on. There had to be a mistake.

Everyone watched as she scrambled for the letter desperately yet pitifully. Her hands land on the letter and she’s quick to grab the paper, lifting it to her eyes and reads the content. Her eyes widen dramatically as she read the letter. The paper falls from her eyes, her face drained and pale, a tear falls to her cheeks. She’s once again grabbed by the guards

“No, no, no. I didn’t write that. It’s not me. This is a misunderstanding.” She hurriedly and desperately tries to prove herself but it’s futile. The deed has been done.

“A misunderstanding?” Luther’s tone was icy, devoid of any sympathy. “You think I’d believe that? This letter, these detailed descriptions… you’ve been feeding our rival pack information, endangering every life in this pack and you call yourself the Luna of the pack.” Luther jaw clenched, his eyes filed with rage Natalie has never seen.

He steps closer to her, his eyes on hers, unmoving and emotionless. It felt like time had slowed down and even before he did it, Natalie had already seen it coming. It was something she would never forget for as long as she lived. She shut her eyes close, a tear

falling to her cheeks.

“I, Alpha Luther Blackwood of the Sliver–rain pack break of my mating bond to you, Omega Natalie Sinclair. I reject you as my mate and break off any existing bond between

us”

Horror courses through her veins as he uttered those words. Her knees grew weak, it felt like something was break inside of her, heck! It was. Eleanor’s words coming back to her again. She was right. It didn’t last.

“Take her to the dungeons and lock her up. You are a traitor and you will be treated like every worthless traitor has ever been treated.”
