Hestia sighed, "No, that's not it."

Twila, fueled by disbelief, insisted, "It has to be that woman filling dad's head with lies. Why else would he dislike you so much?"

She had warned Brittany not to meddle in their family. Yet, here they were.

Hestia looked at Twila, noticing how much she had changed lately. Just as she was about to offer some comfort, Twila hugged her tightly, "Mom, don't worry. I'll make dad like you again." Twila was up early, had her breakfast, and was chauffeured to Star Elementary School.

After Twila's identity was revealed, it attracted quite a bit of attention.

Being the first daughter of Eltham, even as an illegitimate child, she was of royal blood!

Many kids were eager to befriend Twila.

"Good morning, Twila."

The children greeted Twila, who wasn't in a hurry to enter the classroom, instead, she waited at the door.

"Waiting for Daniel again, Twila?"

A boy stepped out of a car, spotting Twila and hurried over, "Stop waiting for him. Daniel doesn't even like hanging out with you!"

He had a crush on Twila and wanted to be her best friend.

Twila was unimpressed, "Get lost!"

The boy was pushed away, feeling a bit resentful.

Right then, a dark Maserati stopped in front of the school gate.

"It's Daniel's mom!"

Some kids recognized Brittany's car.

Since her enrollment, Twila hadn't seen any of Daniel's family members, so her interest was piqued.

The car door opened, and Daniel, with his backpack and a box of cupcakes along with a bottle of apple juice, got out.

Brittany emerged from the back seat, crouched down, and kissed his cheek, "Have a good day at school. Mommy will be off to work but I'll pick you up in the evening."

Daniel nodded obediently, "Take care of yourself, mom. Your health is important."

Brittany pinched his cheek, her heart melting, "We'll go to that diner you've been wanting to try tonight."

"Yay!"

Daniel beamed, watching his mom leave.

"Daniel, your mom is so pretty!"

A kid struck up a conversation with Daniel.

He smiled, "My mom is the prettiest woman in the world!"

"I think so too."

The duo headed into the classroom, setting off a good start.

Twila, upon realizing Brittany was the woman causing strife, clenched her fists. No wonder Daniel was so disagreeable - it ran in the family!

Marching into the classroom, Twila confronted Daniel who was

going

his apple juice, "Is your mo my dad?" Content longs

to marry

Daniel set down his bottle, his cherubic face briefly clouded with displeasure, "It's your dad who wants to marry my mom."

Mom would never like someone from Eltham!

Twila refused to believe it, "Your mom is a homewrecker. She split me and my dad up. She's shameless!"

Hearing this, Daniel's temper flared, "Say that again!"

"Your mom is a homewrecker, a mistress-"

Twila, not yet satisfied, pushed Daniel hard, "You and your mom, both annoying!"

The push caused Daniel to stumble into a desk corner, blood flowing instantly.

Daniel, seemingly oblivious to the

pain, stood up, his usual compliance

replaced with fierce denet

staring straight at Twila.

"My mom is not a mistress!"

Twila was scared but defiant, "Yes, she is. Your mom's a mistress..."

Enraged, Daniel lunged at Twila, his face a mask of anger, "Don't you dare slander my mom!"
