"What does that mean?" she said, her tone cautious. "What nonsense are you sprouting?"

"I will send you the document read though it," Mercy said.

"No, tell me. Tell me now," Vivian said.

Mathew watched as Vivian's expression shifted from confusion to surprise, before turning fierce.

"You father had something that belonged to the organization. When he died, he kept it hidden. We found a safe of your father's that has been transferred to you. So, I have made a deal. You and over the safe and you are free," Mercy said and Vivian paused and looked lost.

"How do I know you are not messing with me?" She asked.

"Come over tomorrow and sign it over,"

"Tomorrow?" Vivian repeated.

"This your only chance. Take it or not, it is up to you," Mercy said and ended the call.

Seeing her standing there slightly lost, Mathew came over.

"What was that about?" he asked, his tone guarded. He saw the look on her face. Something was wrong.

Vivian turned to face him, her frown fading slightly as she met his gaze. "That was Mercy," she said.

"She wants to meet tomorrow morning," Vivian said.

"Why?" He asked.

"To hand over an account. If I hand it over, something my foster father had, they will let me go..." the moment Vivian answered, she regretted it. She did not trust Mathew. What if he wanted this safe instead. After all, it is something the Organization want. Mathew's heart sank at the mention of Mercy's name, his demeanor turned cold as he watched her.

"Foster father? I thought you were raised in the orphanage."

"When I was young, someone else raised me. Then he died and the orphanage took me in," she answered.

"And are you going to go?" he asked, unable to keep the coldness from creeping into his voice.

He already knew about her father. He had researched her. He knew that they were looking for something he had, but had not found it. He knew more about Mercy than she did. Something about Vivian did not add up.

He knew that if he revealed what he knew about Mercy, there was a chance she would not believe him, but he was going to have to talk to her about this soon.

Vivian hesitated, a frown adorned her face as she thought of Mercy. "I... Yes, I will," she admitted.

"I don't need what ever he had left anyways. Not if it would cost my life." she said and turned away into her room.

She was not sure what would happen if she met Mercy again, but she was going to try. If they let her be, why would Mathew still need her? Maybe he would let her go.

Mathew nodded, his mind racing with a thousand thoughts and emotions. He knew that winning Vivian back wouldn't be easy, that it would take time and effort on his part.

But he was patient. Vivian was his. Nothing could change that. He took the second master room next to her room, that way they were close to each other.

He slowly put away his things, wondering how he should approach this matter with Vivian. How does he make her trust him again?

The clock on the bedside table ticked away the seconds as Mathew sat on the edge of his bed, his phone pressed to his ear.

The darkness of the room covered him as he waited for Jerry to answer. He had thought it through. He might need to play dirty. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Jerry's voice crackled through the line, the sound distorted slightly as he spoke. "Mathew?" Jerry asked.

"Yeah, it's me," Mathew answered, the darkness in his voice spilling into the phone. "You said you have someone on the inside?."

Mathew had been keeping track of the Organization. They definitely have been keeping track of a safe lately. He knew it was probably what Vivian was talking about. Mercy. There were things he could replace out about her that Vivian could not and it did not look good.

Jerry's tone grew serious, his voice lowering dangerously at Mathew's words. "What else do you want on her? Do you want more? I am sure I could make it happen."

Mathew hesitated for a moment, "I need you to send me all the documents you have on Vivian's deal with Mercy. I am going to tell her tonight."

There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line as Jerry processed Mathew's request. "Sure thing, Mathew. I'll send them over right away."

Mathew ran his hand through his hair. "Vivian will be signing tomorrow, so do you have a copy of the deal?" he asked. "She needs to see for herself that she cannot trust them."

Jerry's voice was filled with concern. "That doesn't sound good, Mathew. Have you hinted anything to Vivian about it? She might not believe you. Maybe if you created suspicion in her mind first."

Mathew shook his head, even

though Jerry couldn't see him. “That

would have been an option, But I don't have much time. I just can't understand why she is rushing They have had the safe for a while, why are they suddenly rushing to open it?

Jerry sighed heavily on the other end of the line, the sound echoing through the silence of the room. "The document she is going to sign tomorrow, Mathew. It's bad. They have clauses there that could take away her freedom. She might not take it well. They are going too far,"

"What does it say?" Mathew asked darkly

"There is a hidden clause to transfer to have Mercy be the executor of her estate and person. The kind they do for those people who are old or mentally ill." Jerry said. Mathew felt angry just at the thought of it. He was her husband. Why would

even think they could fight this in court?

"They have lost their minds. It seems I have left that Mercy to do as she likes too long," Mathew said.

"What are you going to do?" Jerry asked, "I know it looks like they are targeting your wife, but you and I both know who they truly want is you. They are trying to rope you and your family into something,"

"You are right, but it is not easy to drag me into things," he said darkly.

"But you still want to go ahead and tell her? Will she believe you?" Jerry asked.

"She will have to. If not now, when she sees the document tomorrow," Mathew said darkly and Jerry went silent on the other end.

"You want to use this to regain her trust?" Jerry asked.

"It would be a waste if I did not," Mathew said.

"You really are not afraid something will happen tomorrow and she could get hurt by going?," Jerry informed him, "But, what if your wife still trusts them?"

To this, Mathew scoffed as his eyes narrowed dangerously. "Then it would seem as though Mercy looks down on the Shaw family. She will be going as my wife. If they want an entire turf war, they will have one." Mathew said darkly. "As long as she goes openly with your men, if they move, you will have cause to react. So, you should probably not let her go alone," Jerry advised.

"Why would I let her go alone?" Mathew asked.

"I don't know, you are prone to making mistakes with her. Don't mess this up." Jerry answered. Immediately these words were spoken, Mathew's eyes flashed with realization.

"She is going as my wife, Jerry. Instead of Vivian meeting Mercy, it is Mrs. Shaw meeting the Organization. They will not openly attack," he said. "Beside, it is a chance for Vivian to understand what it means to be my wife," "You really want to milk this situation as much as you can, don't you?" Jerry asked.

"Yes, yes I do," Mathew said nonchalantly.
