Chapter 6
Christy could hardly believe what she saw in front of her….
Was this girl really her step sister whom she grew up with?
Even if they were not biologically related, her feelings toward Gloria were real!
Christy finally saw the true face of the Osborns.
She never imagined that their affection for over a decade meant nothing to the Osborns.
When she was young, Christy held onto a glimmer of hope for the family, but now the hope had completely vanished…
The Osborns didn’t need her anymore, and she didn’t belong here anymore.
Gloria sneered at Christy with an arrogant expression, and her laughter was unpleasant to the ears. A group of bodyguards stared at Christy as if the Osborn Villa was an impenetrable fortress.
Christy said with disappointment. “When I was a child, I tried my best to earn your recognition. The delusional dream should have ended six years ago. Since you don’t need me, I’ll leave. But I will take everything that belongs to my mother back!”
Her eyes shone with unwavering determination, without a trace of cowardice, causing Gloria to tremble with fear.
At the moment, Christy completely said goodbye to her past self..
She turned around and left, leaving only a stubborn back view for the Osborns.
Christy returned to Victoria’s residence and pretended nothing had happened.
Although she had tidied up her hair and clothes, she couldn’t hide her disheveled appearance and pale complexion, which didn’t escape the notice of
her clever son
Alan pondered, “Victoria said that Mommy went to the Osborn Villa to retrieve Grandma’s stuff, which was supposedly a ring. Mommy didn’t look good. Did something happen to her at the Osborn Villa?”
He overheard Christy’s conversation with Victoria and learned that his mom wasn’t biologically related to the Osborn family, which was why they treated her poorly over the years, especially Shelia and Gloria.
At the moment, Christy’s desolate eyes confirmed his speculation.
After Christy finished taking a shower, Alan winked at Clara.
Clara grinned and immediately understood what Alan meant. She ran into her mother’s arms and said in a sweet voice, “Mommy, we want to see Grandma’s ring-”
Christy replied to her children, “Alan, Clara, I’m sorry. I wasn’t able to get Grandma’s ring. Maybe it was lost.”
Alan wasn’t convinced. His mom couldn’t lose such a precious thing! Could it be done by the Osborns?
Alan doubted it very much.
“Mommy, we really miss Grandma. Can you draw her ring for us?” Alan whispered with his voice soft and sweet.
Christy thought for a moment. Her children never got to meet their grandma, and she even lost the only thing her mother left. It made sense to draw a picture for them.
She picked up the stylus and started to draw on her tablet. With smooth strokes, she soon sketched out a ring. In no time, a stunning ring with a red gem appeared vividly on the screen.
The two kids looked at each other and smiled.
Late at night, after Christy fell asleep, Alan and Clara snuck out of bed and went to the storage room.
Alan opened a box and skillfully assembled a drone.
Clara’s eyes shone brightly as she watched Alan from beginning to end. She was impressed with how talented he was!
“Clara, I suspect Mommy’s ring is still at the Osborn Villa. I need to go there, and you cover me with the drone.” Alan continued, “Do you still remember how to operate the drone? I taught you before.”
“Sure! I’m on it! You must get the ring back,” Clara said with a wink.
The two kids had already planned to do something for their mom, which was why they asked Christy to draw the ring.
Alan handed the drone over to his sister and sneaked out the door.
He had already secretly researched the address of the Osborn Villa online.
After sneaking out, he called a cab on his phone.
The driver was surprised when he saw the young boy get in the car alone. “Little buddy, are you by yourself? Aren’t you scared without your parents?”

“I have navigation and the phone. I can call the police if there’s anything wrong. Are you a bad guy or something?” Alan quipped, showing his phone calmly.
Although Alan acted clingy and innocent in front of his mother, that was just his act to make her happy.
In front of strangers, he remained calm and collected, unlike a child at his age.
The driver was dumbfounded upon hearing that!
He had been a taxi driver for many years and had never been threatened by a passenger before, let alone a five–year–old kid!
The driver could only drive obediently, but to be honest, his experience tonight was unforgettable.
As soon as Alan got out of the car near the Osborn Villa, he received a call from his sister.
“Alan, the drone is ready!”
“Good!” Alan looked up and saw a familiar white dot floating in the dark sky. It was his drone..
“There are no bodyguards in the southeast corner of the yard. You can enter from there,” Clara reminded him.
Alan went to that place as Clara said.
There was a gun–shaped camera there.
Perhaps the guards thought the area was under surveillance, so they didn’t guard it.
Alan gave out a cunning smirk.
Although the camera could capture images from a distance, its shooting angle was only about forty degrees, far less than the wide field of view of a high–speed dome camera.
Based on the position and aiming direction of the camera, Alan soon found a blind spot and climbed over the fence by the tree.
For Alan, the monitoring system here was too primitive and backward, and he couldn’t be bothered to infiltrate their control room to interfere with the video recording. These blind spots were enough for him to come and go as he pleased.
Sitting in front of the computer, Clara cheered for Alan and clapped her hands.
Gloria had no idea that she was being watched by two little kids and was about to be in big trouble.
At this moment, Gloria was sitting in front of her dressing table, holding a ring in her hand.
Alan’s eyes lit up as he looked through the window!
The ring was exactly the same as the one his mom had drawn!
After Christy’s disappearance, Gloria threw away all of her things but accidentally found the ring.
The ring had a red gem, and Gloria knew it was priceless. But its style was too old–fashioned with strange totems engraved on it, so Gloria didn’t like it and hid it away.
Christy’s sudden appearance and threat to take back the ring today reminded her of its existence.
Gloria smirked and muttered, “Christy, you want your ring back, don’t you? Well, I’ll make sure you never get it!”
Gloria put the ring back in the box and then threw it in the trash can with a disgusted look.
Alan, who had been hiding outside the window, was boiling with rage!
The woman not only stole his mom’s ring but threw it away?! That was too much!
