The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) -
Chapter 298
Chapter 298
"It wouldn't have been nice to ask this of you when you were surrounded by so many people just now."
“Sure. It's just an autographed picture. I'll have to comply when it's the request of our class representative. "Winter took out a piece of paper from her bag and looked at Mindy a little apologetically. "I don't have any pictures of me right now. You'll have to make do with just my autograph. I'll make sure to give an autographed picture the next time!"
Winter signed her autograph and looked at Mindy. "Mindy, I need to see Annie and Suzy about something...
"Sure, go ahead!"
Winter narrowed her eyes and left with her chest puffed up.
Mindy glanced at the autograph Winter gave her without much care and stuffed it into a back. There was an unknown look in her eye.
Annie quickly grabbed Winter's hand when Winter came over. "What did Mindy want with you?"
"What else could it be? She just wanted my autograph," Winter replied nonchalantly. She quickly looked around and her gaze fell onto a figure far away. A cunning look flashed in her eye.
Annie saw that person too. Her hands clenched into fists. She could not hide the anger on her face.
Winter noticed Annie's reaction and smiled. However, she put on a worried look and grabbed Annie's hand. "It's been years, Annie. Stop thinking about him. Yevgen, he... He wasn't interested in you back them. We shouldn't make things difficult for him."
Annie looked even more upset to hear Winter's words. She clenched her teeth. "Do you think I still like him? 1 just can't let this go of what happened back then..." Whatever transpired back then had hurt Annie a lot.
The man she liked had rejected her in public, and she later witnessed him confess his love to Noelle, the woman she hated the most. The worst thing about this was that Noelle rejected him in the end. That was
an insult to Annie.
Annie could not forget this and it was the reason why she hated Noelle more and more.
The man she had treated with love and care was discarded by Noelle and Annie could not let this go.
She looked at Noelle and saw her chatting happily with Rowena and Teresa. Annie turned back to look at Yevgen, only to see his eyes following Noelle wherever she went. This only fueled Annie's anger. She clenched her fists as she stared at Noelle and Yevgen,
"I'm going to the bathroom." Noelle
had chatted for quite a while with Rowena and Teresa, and a few
classmates had come by mid-wat
to talk to them as well. Noelle had quite a bit to drink, and she was
feeling tipsy. When she st was
up,
Rowena immediately grabbed her hand. "Are you alright?"
Noelle shook her head. "I'm fine. I'm just feeling a little dizzy. I'm going to the bathroom. You should continue chatting with them." Noelle gave Rowena a look to tell her she would be okay but Rowena was still worried. "Be careful, alright?"
"Alright." Someone blocked Noelle's way when she left the hall. She looked at the person and smiled. “Is
there anything you need?"
Yevgen scratched his head
awkwardly. He had not stopped
looking at Noelle since his arrival. It had been years, and Yevgen had never forgotten Noelle. He found himself falling for her even more. All it took was a glance at her from afar témake Yevgen realize that he could never give her up.
"It's been a while, old friend." Yevgen smiled as he tried to look as normal as possible.
Noelle smiled. “Yes, it's been a while." She glanced at Yevgen and did not miss the passionate look in his eyes. However, Noelle did not feel the same way about him. "Is there anything else you need? If there isn't, I need to leave for a while."
