The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) -
Chapter 450
The moment Winter saw Noelle standing unharmed before her, she already felt on the verge of breaking down.
Now, seeing Simon's attitude while recalling Suzy's earlier state, Winter's resolve crumbled even further. She clenched her teeth, her fists tightening. "Mr. York, what are you doing here? I thought I saw you leave to rest after getting drunk." "Yes, I did feel a bit tipsy. Your good friend was kind enough to help me over," Simon replied, his sly fox-like eyes glinting with amusement.
He gave Winter a once-over. "Ms. Shaw, are you sure you don't need a doctor? You shouldn't be looking so pale at your own birthday party!"
Winter wavered, nearly losing her balance.
There were rumors about Simon in the circles-that he was a cold and unprincipled man, the most ruthless of them all. It was also said that those who crossed him never met a good end.
No matter how much Winter had schemed, she had not expected Simon to be this unyielding. It seemed he knew everything. "Mr. York, you're right. I'm not feeling well. I'll take my leave first." Simon smirked as he watched Winter flee in panic. His eyes gleamed with amusement before he turned to Noelle. "Ms. Noelle, it seems we really are fated to cross paths!" Noelle narrowed her eyes. "Is that so?"
"Indeed. Look, I've saved you three times now," Simon said with a chuckle, his fox-like eyes now focused intently on Noelle. "Seeing that you're safe puts my mind at ease." "Really?" Noelle met Simon's gaze head-on. "You saved me three times, Mr. York? When did that happen? Even if we were to count today, that makes it just one time." Simon clicked his tongue at Noelle's response. "It seems you're quite heartless, forgetting your savior so easily."
Noelle pressed her lips together, frowning slightly. "I appreciate your help today truly. But I think you acted as much to protect yourself as to save me. Besides, even without your intervention, I would've been fine."
Noelle's message was clear-she understood Simon's actions were more self-serving than altruistic. While she was relieved that she had not been the one harmed, Simon's approach had been ruthless, especially given that Suzy was just an innocent woman caught in the crossfire.

Simon raised an eyebrow. He was about to respond when Noelle's phone rang.
She glanced at the screen, and a gentle smile softened her expression. "Hello?"
"Are you done?" Charles' deep, warm voice came through the line, instantly dispelling the gloom that had settled in Noelle's heart. "Yes, it's all over." "I'm outside. Come out when you're ready."
"You came to pick me up?" Noelle's eyes brightened, but she noticed that Simon was watching her. She stepped away slightly and replied with a smile, "Alright, I'll be out in a moment."
Pocketing her phone, Noelle turned back to Simon. "Sorry, Mr. York. It's getting late, and I must get going."
Simon's eyes were full of intrigue. They followed Noelle's retreating figure before he decided to follow her himself.
When Noelle stepped outside, she immediately noticed a car waiting by the entrance.
However, it was not Charles' car. The vehicle looked familiar, and she was trying to place it when the door swung open and Sean stepped out.
