The man Rowena laid eyes on was like a blast of cold air, his aura sharp and piercing. That was her first impression of him. She glanced at him awkwardly, his striking features expressionless, an intimidating vibe radiating from him.

She could not help but gulp and take a step back, forcing a nervous chuckle. "Uh... Who are you? Where's your husband, Noelle?" She had a sinking feeling she had walked in on something, so she quickly spun around to grab Noelle's hand. "What's up? Why isn't your husband here? Who's this guy in the kitchen?" Noelle clamped a hand over Rowena's mouth, her eyes meeting Peter's icy gaze. "Peter, this is my friend. Sorry, she thought you were Charles!" Noelle rushed to explain, having seen Peter's formidable presence, which was honestly quite intimidating.

Noelle sensed that Peter had been much warmer toward her than he had been with Rowena, who had almost blurted out something that could have made things really awkward.

Peter squinted and gave a quick nod. "Got it," he said. "I'll take care of the dishes. Noelle, you go hang out with your friends, okay?"

Feeling a bit awkward, Noelle nodded. "Thanks, Peter. I owe you one!"

She quickly grabbed Rowena's arm and started to leave, not without a playful jab. "Seriously, how do you move so fast? You're totally fearless!"

Rowena was actually kind of scared, which was new for her. She was usually pretty brave, but lately, two guys had gotten under her skin-Charles and now Peter.

Noelle nodded. "Yeah. He and Sean are Charles' friends." She explained, "Charles isn't around today, so Peter and Sean sent me home. We thought we could eat dinner together. You guys don't mind, right?"

"Wait, that's Peter?" she asked.

"Of course not!" Rowena chuckled. "Seriously, though. All of you are the Four Young Masters of Brookville, yet Peter has such a... distinctive aura!" Rowena stole a glance at Sean.

Sean arched an eyebrow, a playful grin spreading across his face. "Are you saying I look like a normal guy, Ms. Scott?"

"Nope, I'm saying you're a little

weird!" Rowena was not one to back down from Sean. Maybe it was his

laid-back attitude or that

ever-present grin that made it Kard

to see when he was being serious.

Sean's smile turned into a sly smirk. "I'll take that as a compliment to my charm!"

Rowena's lips quivered with a mix of annoyance and concern. She was not in the mood to chat with Sean, so she turned to Noelle and spilled the latest gossip. "Teresa and I were left off the invite list, so we skipped the event. I was betting Winter would stir up drama again, so I was kinda worried about you. Then I remembered you've got your husband to back you up so we didn't have to worry! I can't believe Winter played herself. It totally backfired on her! So, what's the scoop on Suzy?"

Noelle just shook her head. "No clue. After the hit she took, I doubt she'll team up with Winter to target me again."

"You're not seeing the big picture.

Those two are nasty, and they won't just drop it.bet Suzy's going to pin this whole mess on you. You'd better watch your back," Teresa piped up with timely advice, and Rowena nodded vigorously. "Totally. They're probably cooking up their next scheme as we speak!"
