The Gamma's Heart
The Gamma’s Heart – Chapter 66

After she left both Wyatt and I rounded up as many warriors as we could spare without leaving the pack unguarded. We asked people to stay away from the northern borders with no questions asked.

Once everyone was in their wolf form we all took off for the treeline. Hank and Wyatt beside me as we ran, it’s been atleast 2 hours and the sun has gone down.

When we were about 5 miles from the clearing it started raining.

“Axel is getting antsy!” Wyatt said through the open link we were all sharing, so we coukd hear eachother.

We stopped when a loud scream was heard, we all knew who it was, then a few thuds that made the ground shake.

My dad and aunt Robin walked over to me both of their fur rising because they didn’t know what was happening.

“Son, how bad is this supposed to get?” Dan asked his son, he glanced at all the young wolves then the warriors, Dale was there supporting both his son and daughter in the fight along with their mates.

“Kane, just said it’s gonna get pretty bad. Amara expanded her powers, making them stronger with just about anything.”

Titus took complete control over Samuel, he howled loudly and took off in the direction of his pups scream. He heard several others do the same, then feet running behind him.

When they reached the clearing they seen huge trees snapped in half now laying burnt on the ground. They tried to move closer but there was an invisible force keeping them all back.

“Cupis me? deinde experire et recipe me!” (You want me? Then try and take me!) If it wasn’t for their enhanced hearing then no one would have heard what she said.

Moments later another scream was heard, but with them being closer they soon realized it wasn’t her screaming.

“How did she get here?” Landon yelled over the pouring rain and harsh winds, he glanced at his siblings for answers.

“She was still in the cells when we left.” Ophelia said just as confused.

When they all seen Vivian break free of her cuffs and begin chanting Samuel shifted and turned to the 3 “You jave to stop her!”

“We can try and take this barrier down..” Marco said.

“NO!” Clara yelled overhearing him, momentarily getting distracted from defending herself from both Vivian and Amara.

Amara had taken over for a split second and teleported Vivian here. She didn’t even have to leave for her to bring her here, that’s how expanded she made her powers.

Feeling a blade enter her leg she g*****d and turned her attention back to Vivian.

Her wolf couldnt help her, she was lucky to get what she got from her earlier but after that Amara locked her back down.

Pulling the knife out, that’s when she felt it, the sheer panic coursing through her made her look over to Wyatt and Noah.

Oh Goddess they are gonna feel everything.

“That blade was your grandmother’s. She used it on wolves who wouldn’t follow her. She told me where to locate it. It has silver, wolfsbane and oleander in it, when I stabbed you it released all 3 into your system.”

I can handle the silver and the wolfsbane, but oleander? This stuff killed off the Lycans I can only imagine what it can do to a simple werewolf like myself.

“I should have killed you when I got the chance…” I muttered, a cold sweat appearing on my skin now from the mixture of toxins.

My heart rate was no longer beating as fast as it was and it made me tired. I felt sleepy suddenly.

When the rain stopped I looked up at Vivian who seemed to be enjoying what she was seeing.

“Vivian nondum perii.” (I’m not dead yet, Vivian.) I said standing back up as best I could. My left leg felt like dead weight now.

“Ostende mihi quid tunc haedum acceperis.” (Show me what you got then kid.) Vivian taunted motioning me to come at her with her hands.

I didn’t move though, I looked down and seen the blade at my feet. Thinking quickly I let myself fall to the ground on top of it and screamed.

I wasn’t so sure if it was fake or not because of how horrible I felt.

I could hear her laughing, my eyes were tightly closed as I held off from actually screaming again, I gripped the handle of the blade tightly underneath me.

Suddenly my body was flung about 30-40 feet away from her as I hit the wall of the barrier I put up.

I was a bit dazzed when I opened my eyes, there were atleast 100 wolves standing on the other side.

She’s taunting them now. “Take it down, Clara. Let’s have some fun with those wolves out there.” Vivian yelled at me as I sat up my back against the barrier.

“Amara will be angry if she can’t leave this clearing.” She suddenly apperened in front of me I jumped because I wasn’t expecting it.

“That’s the point you i***t!” I sneered at her through gritted teeth.

“Has anyone told you what oleander does, not just to the person who is poisoned by it but to their family members?” I shook my head.

“It will slowly eat at them too if your the head of the family. Your the packs Luna, so I’m guessing that makes you above them all.” she’s lying, that’s not true.

“You realize that my children are stronger than even I am?” I tried getting up but both my legs now were affected, I couldn’t feel them anymlre.

“My daughter has the potential to kill everyone here, imagine what her brothers could do? Because they each come from 2 powerful bloodlines, adding my bloodline in there made them stronger.”

I heard wolves behind me but I couldn’t turn, last time I got distracted she stabbed me.

“You won’t take the barrier down then you can watch them burn…” her eyes went from brown to black faster than I could blink and suddenly I heard howling behind me.

Turning my head I seen flames engulf a few dozen warriors, I cried as I felt their tether to the pack break.

When I seen my friends and suddenly Kelly was on fire I yelled out.

“Okay…okay I’ll drop it. Just stop it please?”

My eyes never left Kelly as her wolf laid on the ground. Keith had shifted back and was looking her over.

Closing my eyes I silently lifted the barrier, when it was gone I fell back onto my elbows on the wet ground.

“My, my, my…” Vivian smirked seeing the angry looks of all the warriors and my family. “Seems even my kids have chosen the wrong side.”

Amara laughed in my head making me close my eyes. My chest was hurting even more now.

With all the strength I had, I sat back up and pulled the blade from my side, when she seen it her eyes widened, I thrusted it at her and I swear that power I felt just then wasn’t mine.

It landed in her chest making her stumble backwards. I felt several people come near me hands grabbing me, but I couldn’t tell who was who.

They laid me back on the ground, as a flash of deja vu hit me…this is what I seen in my vision.

Hands cupped my cheeks and I smiled faintly at the sparks that I felt. “You promised you would fight.” This was exactly what I seen, now I’m just playing out the scene.

Wyatt was on my other side but his hands were on the wound on my leg, he was trying to stop the bleeding. I looked around frantically when I heard a beautiful and soft voice.

Looking to my right I seen a white light, only I expected to see myself not Selene.

Wyatt turned to see what she was looking at, and his mouth dropped open. Everyone followed our gaze and turned around, almost parting as she walked closer.

Axel told me who it was but I couldn’t believe it. How was she here? She lived with the wolves in The Spirit Realm.

“I can’t fight her, I tried.. the oleander is to strong.” I glanced back at Clara who was crying now, did I hear her right?

“Yes it is sweet child, but not for a witch!” Selene told her softly. “I told you that Clary would die right? This is why! I’m sorry for not preparing you better for this part.”

Clara wanted to know what she was refering to then her entire body felt like it was being ripped apart. A pained scream left her as she placed her hands on her heart. She could feel her dying, and boy did it hurt.

When she heard the dying howls of Clary, Clara cried harder. I just wanted to give up right there, the only one who has ever understood me and never judged me was Clary, and in just a few more seconds she’ll be gone forever.

Noah and Wyatt heard through the link they had open from the pack the howls of their mates wolf. Everyone in their pack could hear it, but only she could feel it.

When a light appeared over her both boys moved back, and watched as Clary stepped out of her human. Her white fur was messy and looked like it was loosing it’s shine.

She walked over to The Moon Goddess and stood beside her whimpering. “She turns 18 in August, expect to be reunited.” she told us with a smile, then it hit me, Clary shifted early.

Clara wasn’t making anymore noises now, I suspect she was still hurting from loosing Clary. “You made a promise young lady, I expect you to keep it.” Selene said as she looked down at Clara.

“Before or after Amara takes over?” Clara asked her, her breathing heavy. But she no longer felt the effects of the 3 poisons that she felt earlier.

“Your boys will help you with the extra power you need.” I opened my eyes and glared at her. She knew all of this and didn’t say a word to me about it.

She knew I was pregnant, knew I was carrying twins, and knew how Clary would die.

But she only smiled at me as she and Clary both began to disappear. Before I could say anything to Noah or Wyatt Amara spoke making me cringe at what she said.

“Misera res, occubuitne catulus tuus? Esne paratus iungere illi?” (Poor thing, did your puppy die? Are you ready to join her?) The unhappy tone she used told me that she wasn’t prepared to be without a powerful wolf like Clary.

I slowly sat up, I could feel my legs again thankfully, I didn’t respond back to her which seemed to piss her off as she yelled in my head, hearing everyone around me wince or hiss made me look up at them.

“Boy did you piss her off kiddo!” Samuel said rubbing his head.

“Wait you heard her?” I asked looking around as not just him but at everyone nodding their head.

They may not understand what she said like some of us did but they could hear it in her angry scream.

My body may not hurt like it did a dew moments ago, but my heart and soul felt empty. I no longer had the ablity to mind-link, I could still feel the bond with Noah and Wyatt but that was because I was able to mark them, if they didn’t have my mark then I would feel nothing.

I had nothing to interact with them anymore if something went wrong, I couldn’t protect them from feeling anything, because I wasn’t a wolf anymore, I had no ablity to block them out from feeling what I felt.

Being a Luna with no wolf is bullshit.

Feeling a sharp pain radiate in my cheat made me take in a sharp breath. It felt like it was moving deeper into me and it hurt so bad.

Wyatt grabbed my shoulders, because he felt it too. He then gripped the top of my shirt and ripped it open at the top but I honestly didn’t care to look at who was standing around.

Looking down I seen the mark moving up on my chest, my breathijg became quick as I began to panic.

Her mark had moved from my side to the center of my chest and the vines had spread accordingly.
