"Heh. I told you, didn't I?"

Luna was smiling smugly, folding her arms before her chest. "There'sno reason to come here at all. Cato's company is perfectly up tostandards.”

She then dispensed with all pretense, turning to Cato and throwing herarms around his neck. "Come on, let's go hang out. It's rare for me tocome to Morhen, and I'd rather not waste time on work. It's boring.""Okay. In that case..."

Helen took out the agreement she kept in her briefcase, ready to stampand sign it.

That was when Frank caught her wrist.

"Eh?" Helen looked up at Frank, puzzled.

"What are you up to now?!"

Luna was bristling since Frank was meddling again, standing akimboas she snapped, "You just want to mess with us, don't you? Get out ofhere, if all you want to do is waste our time!"

"Mr. Lawrence," Cato growled coolly as he strode over. "This is mycompany, and these are my employees. We have all the proper legalcertification and approvals, but here you are, questioning us. What isthis if not deliberate harassment?"

Frank shook his head despite their hostile glares and simply stopped adown-to-earth looking employee.

Pointing at Cato, he asked the man, "Who is he to you?"

"H-He's our boss...? What's wrong?" The man appeared perplexed."Oh!"

Frank nodded in realization but soon smiled. "And when did he becomeyour boss?"

"What?!" Cato panicked right away at Frank's question and keptshooting looks at the man.

The man stammered. "Yesterday... I mean, two days ago? No, I meana month ago..."

It was obvious he was a poor liar and completely let the cat out of thebag.

Frank nodded and allowed him to leave, while giving Cato a meaningfulsmile. "You were saying that your family was involved in engineering forgenerations? Don't you think you should explain yourself?"

Cato's cheeks stiffened.

However, before he could say a word, Luna had already leapt up,shrieking at Frank furiously, "Are you done, Frank?! It doesn't matter ifCato's family is in the business! This is his company, and we can allsee that! He's not a bum like you—the way I see it, you're just jealoushe owns a company! Don't think you can ruin things for others justbecause you don't own one!"

Seeing that she was still defending the conman after all that, Frank didnot hesitate to shoot her a look of disdain, muttering under his breath,“Idiot.”

"What?! Did you just call me an idiot?!" Luna kept screaming like afishwife. “I'll tell Grandpa, believe it! When I do, Helen's candidacy asthe next head of the Lane family will be forfeited! You NorthstreamLanes have been freeloading off us, so you'd better watch it, or I'll tellGrandpa to chase every last one of you out of my house!"

Naturally, her ranting left matters complicated, suddenly involving thefamily when just a few words could have cleared up the entire mess.

It was simply unbelievable.

“That's enough!" Helen bellowed just then, glaring at Luna even as sheleft her stunned.
