The Hybrid’s Second Chance -
Chapter 67
Julianna's POV
Waking up the next morning, I had plans to go meet Cornelia in the clearing by the lake so she could start helping me with my magic and bringing it back out of me. Last night at dinner, she had told me it could take some time, but she was confident she would be able to do it. I, on the other hand, was nervous. What if my abilities had gone away after fifteen years of no use? Growing up, I had always dreamed of being able to do magic.
I used to have a reoccurring dream of myself lifting things off the ground using nothing but my hand. It seemed so real each time, and it was the only dream I remember from when I was younger. Rolling over, I placed my head on Alex's chest, kissing him lightly. He took in a lung full of air, as his blue eyes opened slowly.
"Good morning, sweets," he said.
"Good morning." I leaned up as he leaned down for a quick kiss.
"Are you excited about meeting with Cornelia today and working on some magic?"
"|
I am, I'm a little nervous, but mostly excited."
"It's gonna be great, I can't wait until we can do what she does! Can you imagine just teleporting anywhere we wanna go?" "Sofia's excited," I told Alex.
"When you're done, we should let Sofia and my Lycan go for a run together. They haven't been able to do that in a while." "Yes please!" she shouted.
"Now that you've said that, I think she would take control if I said no," I laughed.
"I'll go make us something to eat," Alex said, giving me one more kiss before getting out of bed. He was only wearing some old shorts, and nothing else. I eyed him hungerly as I watched his very muscular torso, the tattoo on his arm on full display. "If he's not the hottest Lycan, I don't know who is," Sofia drooled.
"Hey," I called before he could walk out of the room. "Why doesn't your Lycan have a name?" He looked at me and tilted his head to the side, slightly confused. I could tell no one had ever asked him this question before.
"I don't know, it's just something that isn't given to them like wolves."
"Can we name him ourselves?"
"Sofia wants to know if we can name your Lycan?" He flashed me my favorite dimpled smile.
"I don't see why not."
"Okay, this is so exciting! What should we call him?"
"I don't know. You talk to him the most. What seems like a fitting name for him?" Sofia thought for a moment, pacing back and forth in my mind. She stopped pacing and a wide smile spread across her snout. "I've got it!" She sang. "I think we should call him lan."
"Why lan?" I asked.
"It just seems like a strong, fitting name for a strong Lycan King."
"Sofia wants to call him lan." Alex came and sat on the edge of the bed next to me.
"lan, I like that." Alex's eyes turned from their beautiful blue to black quickly.
"Mine, lan!" his Lycan's voice radiated from Alex's mouth, in a guttural growl. Sofia pushed her way forward, and I was now watching their interaction from the back of my mind.
"What the he**!" I yelled, fighting to take back control.
"Sorry," she shrugged. With lan now in control of Alex's body and Sofia controlling mine, I watched as lan kissed Sofia hard like it was the first and last time he was ever going to. It had an animalistic need to it, and Sofia leaned in, accepting every moment. I was a little annoyed because I didn't want to keep Cornelia waiting for me while they used our bodies as their own personal s*x dolls. Ian and Sofia were now rolling together on the bed, stripping each other of what little clothes we had been wearing. "Are you able to get control back?" Alex asked.
"No, you?"
"Nope, it seems like us marking each other made their ability to take control stronger or something."
"Hopefully they're done quickly because Cornelia is going to be waiting." I decided to retreat into the back of our mind to give them some privacy, not that I wasn't enjoying every rough touch lan gave us.
An hour later, lan and Sofia were lying on the bed exhausted from everything they had done. Sofia finally gave me back control and I tried to move my body but found it difficult.
"Did you really need to do that when we have someone waiting for us?" I asked, irritated.
"If you would have let us do it earlier it wouldn't have been a problem." She gave me a smug look and turned away from me.
"Alex?" I asked, seeing if he was back in control.
"Hmm," he mumbled, as tired as I was.
"We have to get up. We have sh*t to do." He sighed out next to me, and instead of getting up, rolled over to capture me in his arms. Alex began peppering my face and neck with tiny kisses. "Alex!" I laughed, trying to squirm out of his tight grip.
"Do you know how much I love you?" he asked, rolling me on top of him.
"Hopefully just as much as I love you," I told him. "What time is it?"
"Um, 10:30," he replied, looking at the clock.
"Sh*t, I have to meet Cornelia in thirty minutes." Using all my strength and resolve, I pulled myself from Alex's grip and ran to the bathroom.
"I'll make us something to eat," he yelled from the bedroom. I took a quick shower, deciding not to wash my hair since it would take too long, and throwing it up into a ponytail instead. After drying myself off, I ran into the closet, throwing on a sports bra and shorts. Pairing it with a pair of black sneakers. It was hot in Oregon in the summer, and since we were going to be outside, I wanted to try and be slightly comfortable. When I got out into the kitchen, the smell of blueberry pancakes filled my senses. Alex was standing at the stove flipping some onto a plate.
"Perfect timing," he said when he heard me walk in. He spun around and slid a plate towards me on the island that contained two perfectly round pancakes.
"You're amazing!" I said, taking one in my hand and shoveling it into my face. "Thank you," I said thickly through a full mouth.
"You're welcome," he laughed, watching me eat like a starving man.
"I wish I had a way to contact Cornelia other than her just sensing where I am," I told him once I had swallowed.
"I can see about getting her a phone today."
"That would be great!" Then I thought for a moment. "Wait, then I'll need one too." It just occurred to me I didn't have a phone. They didn't let me have one in October Moon, not that I needed one because I could mind link people. Alex laughed at my confused expression.
"I'll get you one too." I glanced at the clock on the stove, and saw I only had five minutes to be in the clearing.
"I
I gotta go," I said, grabbing the last pancake, kissing Alex on the cheek, and running out of the door.
"I love you!" Alex shouted after me before the door banged shut.
"I love you too!" Taking off for the forest at top speed, I thought about shifting to get us there faster. Unfortunately, Sofia was dead asleep in my mind after having fun with lan a little while ago. My running was just going to have to do for now. I came skidding to a halt in the clearing, seeing that Cornelia was already there and waiting for me.
"I'm here!" I yelled.
"I know, I heard you coming," she said.
"Sorry I was a little late, I lost track of time."
"That's okay, I was enjoying being out in nature again," she said, closing her eyes and taking in a lung full of air.
"We can build your house more out in the woods if you'd like," I told her.
"I'd like that, just as long as there's room for a large garden. Potions require a lot of herbs."
"I think we can manage that. So, what exactly are we doing?"
"I thought we could start with some meditation. Focus on trying to bring your magic back to the surface. It's been dormant for so long; I don't think trying to use it right away is going to be effective." "Okay, what do I have to do?"
"Let's have a seat here facing each other." Cornelia took a seat, crossing her legs in front of her. I wasn't sure how she was able to cope in this heat with her long dark blue ropes.
"You know, we can take you shopping for more clothes," I told her, sitting down facing her.
"Maybe eventually, I'm just so used to my robes it's gonna be hard not wearing anything else."
"Are those required of the High Priestess?"
"Generally. We have a lot of long-standing traditions we follow."
"I'm sorry, I know this is going to be an adjustment for you."
"It's okay, I think this is going to be a good thing. I already broke so many rules, it should be easy for me to fall into a different life. Now, enough about me. Let's focus on you and bringing back half of who you are."
