Chapter 384 I Miss You, Amanda

After getting into the car, Aiden asked, "Mr. Miller, who's that man back there? Do you know him?"

"Nope, I don't. I haven't even seen him before."

"In that case, I think I did the right thing by not talking to him. After all, Mommy once said I shouldn't talk to strangers."

Yacob chuckled upon hearing the child's innocent response. "Well, you did the right thing. When your dad gets back, I'm sure he is going to reward you handsomely."

However, Aiden didn't seem happy with that as he replied with a grunt, "I don't need a reward from him. I don't understand what's taking him so long to come back. I hate him." "Your dad is busy, but he'll be back soon."

"No! No! No, I don't want to hear that..." Aiden covered his ears, feeling annoyed. Watching the kid's adamant attitude, Yacob shook his head as he began to notice the resemblance between the boy's temper and his father's.

As the days went on, Amanda only spent her time staying in the Allegra Villa to avoid unwanted trouble. Whenever she had to leave home, she would only do so with Yacob's company. Deep down, she couldn' wait for Elias to return to her side despite knowing he had to take a few days off to take care of some important business in Esmos.

Amanda was idling around in the rattan chair in her garden, where she was enjoying the peace and harmony that nature was bringing her. Nevertheless, the strange words that Symeon once said kept looping in her mind at the same time until she heard Aiden's voice. "Mommy!" When she turned around, she immediately greeted her son with open arms,

"Hello, my little darling, I see that you're finished with your school."

"Yes, Mommy. Let me tell you something. I saw a strange man today, and he asked me some questions, but I didn't answer them. I'm a good boy, aren't I?" Aiden bragged about himself, expecting a compliment. from his mother.

Amanda reacted by pecking the boy's cheek. "That's very smart of you, my good boy! What strange man are you talking about, though?"

"He looked somewhat biracial, but I haven't seen his face before," Yacob came closer and added.

Upon hearing Yacob's words, Amanda widened her eyes. Could it have been Mr. Lawrence? How did he manage to replace Aiden's kindergarten? Amanda then looked at Aiden and asked, "What did that man ask you, Baby?"

"He asked me how old I was."

Amanda's face darkened, for she knew Lawrence had made his move. "Aiden, I want you to stay away from that man from now on. Do you get me? No matter what kind of question he asks, you should never answer him. If you see him, just ignore him. Okay?"

"Alright, Mommy, I heard you. Now, I'd like to use the bathroom."

"Sure, go and look for Miss Selina. She'll take you to the bathroom." Amanda let go of her son.

While Aiden turned around and hurried toward the house, Yacob knitted his eyebrows upon noticing the darkened look on Amanda's face. "Do you know that man?"

"No. I don't. Keep an eye on Aiden and make sure no one gets close to him!" Amanda said with a pair of furrowed eyebrows.

"Of course, but this man we met this afternoon seemed different. He looked like some kind of rich and powerful individual." Yacob recalled the bodyguards and luxury cars around the man whom he and Aiden. met earlier that day.

"I don't care who he is. No strangers should be allowed to be anywhere near Aiden. Amanda walked away. in frustration as soon as she finished her sentence.

Yacob, who was left behind, stood still and kept his eyes fixed on Amanda's silhouette. Deep down, he had. a feeling that Amanda knew that man, or she wouldn't have reacted so dramatically.

Upon returning to the room, Amanda reached out for her phone and dialed Symeon's number. The phone call connected, and the man's magnetic voice sounded. "So, you've made up your mind, haven't you?" "Screw you! Who do you think you are, getting so close to my son?! How many times do I have to tell that he isn't your son?! What's wrong with you? Do you really like raising someone else's kid?"

Despite Amanda's mean attitude, the man on the other side of the phone wasn't piqued at all. Instead, he responded to her words with patience, saying, "You must be waiting for Elias to come back, right? Let me tell you something-he is busy taking care of the issues I left him over there, so he is not going to be back. anytime soon."

"What? What have you done?"

"Nothing. I just stirred up a little trouble with his projects to keep him occupied. By the time he is done. dealing with those issues, I'll be gone with the kid."

"How dare you?!" Amanda hung up the call as she refused to waste more time talking to Symeon. What should I do now? After a brief contemplation, she quickly decided to give Elias a call. However, the phone.

without anyone picking up the call for a while, but just as Amanda was about to end the call, someone answered the phone.

rang

"Hey, Amanda. Is everything alright?" The noise in the background suggested that Elias was in the middle. of a meeting.

"Are you in the middle of something now? If you are, I'll call you back later. I can wait," Amanda didn't want to worsen Elias' mood with some bad news, knowing he was busy with work. Thus, she was thinking of telling him about it after he returned.

"It's alright. Just tell me what it is. I won't be done so soon anyway." Elias sounded tired from the other side. of the phone.

"Have you been up all night?" Amanda was sympathetic, believing Elias hadn't slept the night before after calculating the difference in time zones. It should be morning over there in Esmos.

"Yeah, something came up, and I had to attend to it. I didn't have time to sleep. The man could be heard. typing in the background while talking to Amanda.

In the end, Amanda's pity got the better of her, and it dissuaded her from telling Elias the truth. "Well, it's nothing. I just missed you, but since you're so busy, I guess I shall leave you to it. Call me back when you're free."

"Yeah, I miss you too, but I'm really busy at the moment. Maybe I'll call you back later." Elias chuckled as his voice indicated just how happy he was to hear Amanda say that to him.

"Sure. Take good care of yourself, and take your meals punctually."

"I really miss you, Amanda. I'll call you back later, okay? I can't listen to your voice anymore. If I keep doing that, I'm going to lose focus at work."

"We'll talk later, then." Amanda laughed softly and hung up the call before letting out a sigh. Knowing how busy Elias was with his work, she couldn't bring herself to add to his pressure by unknowingly creating a distraction.

Lawrence is like a demon that hides in the dark. There is no telling when he will show up again. Moreover, I can't believe he actually found Aiden's kindergarten. Now, it looks like there is no safer place than home for us both. Aiden must never go to school. It's safer for him to stay at home with me.

For the next few days, Amanda and Aiden stayed home without going anywhere, which made Yacob, along with Jack and Edith, bewildered when they noticed this.

"Amanda, why haven't you headed down to your office? Also, why hasn't Aiden gone to school?" Jack gave in to his curiosity and asked when everyone settled down at the dining table.

While serving Aiden's dish, Amanda replied, "Oh, I've been planning to take a break, actually. Furthermore, I can afford to take a few days off work, knowing our family can keep me fed anyway. Don't you think so? As for Aiden, he's caught a cold for the past few days, so I'd like to take good care of him. while I'm around."
