The Lycan Series -
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 29
Axel's POV
"The results on Savannah and Thalia are ready. He wants to speak to you himself," Greg's voice boomed in my body, pulling me out of my thoughts.
I raised my eyes lazily off the papers I hadn't even been reading and looked at him. "Why didn't he just come here instead?"
"He will need to run some tests on you in his office. Coming over here will defeat that purpose," Greg replied.
I clicked my tongue and pushed myself out of my chair. "Okay, let's get it over with."
Greg nodded and started leading the way out of my office. I followed behind him but my eyes looked back down the corridor, where I knew Violet was -in my room.
I had instructed Hilda to bring her over to work on my chambers when I noticed she had locked her up in the cell.
I knew Hilda was only trying to protect her but keeping her there wasn't the solution. I had her bring Violet to me.
Yes, the idea was to keep an eye on her to prevent any future disaster from repeating itself but I also brought her close to heal the t*****e my wolf was putting me through.
My regular drug was a bottle of alcohol and the warm folds of Savannah or Thalia but lately, even that was starting to fail me.
I was hoping if Violet was close, my head would get used to her and I wouldn't yearn for her anymore. But the more time I spent watching her work, the more I found myself attracted to her.
As much as the more rational part of me knew I couldn't have her. She was human. I couldn't be with her after everything her kind... her parents had done to me and my entire race.
She was no good for me. I could never be with her. I couldn't bring myself to do it.
But the other half of me had a mind of its own. It was the exact opposite of what the other half thought. It refused to get her out of my head. It wanted her. It yearned for her.
It was slowly starting to drive me crazy. She was truly my dilemma.
"Is everything alright?" Greg's voice once again overshadowed the chaos in my head.
"Yes, everything is just fine..." I said and kept a straight face as we moved through the corridors, down to the south wing of the mansion where the clinic was.
Greg took the lead once again and pulled the door to the doctor's office open for me.
"Your High-ness," the doctor stammered, bowing as we stepped in.
I pulled out a chair for myself and sat down. "Doctor Jasper. What news do you have for me?"
Jasper was a scrawny man who had learned the job from Sara -my mother's doctor. Sara had tried to teach her daughter Hilda the job but Hilda never really wanted it. When Jasper showed interest, I made sure the old woman taught him everything she knew before she died.
"The tests for the women are out but I will need a little sample of your blood for a final con-confirmation," he managed to say.
I rolled my eyes and placed my right hand on his table, the poor guy jumped at the impact, causing a cruel smile to cover my lips.
"Take as much as you want Jasper, all I want is an heir..." I said, narrowing my eyes at him.
Usually, I liked making him feel as comfortable as possible but for some reason, there was a bitter feeling down my throat the moment we stepped into his office and I was almost certain I wasn't going to like what he would tell me.
I watched as his hands trembled as he left the table and moved to get whatever instrument he was going to use.
When he returned he held a small syringe and brought it to my arm.
"I am sorry, your highness... My king... This w-will hurt a b-b-bit," he stammered in fear.
I clicked my tongue and grabbed the syringe from him and pricked my hand on my own. When I had gotten enough blood, I passed it to him.
"Here, hurry. I don't have all day."
I could feel Greg's disapproving glare behind me but I cared less. The sooner I found out what was making Jasper extra shaky today the better.
Jasper fumbled with his instruments for a couple of minutes, scattering several metal things to the floor at frequent time gaps before he finally returned to the table once again.
He adjusted his glasses and looked up at Greg before turning to look at me with dread in his eyes.
"We have a problem, my king," he managed to say without stammering.
My brows rose and I stared hard at him. "What is wrong with me?"
"Your concubines are fine but you-you have a low spa-s***m count..."
My eyes darkened at once and all I could see for the next seconds that followed was darkness. "What do you mean I have a low sperm count?" I roared.
"Your sperm count has nothing to do with your performance in bed, Axel." Greg joined in, seeing the helpless situation Jasper was put in.
"So what the fuck does it have to do with?" I turned my attention to Greg now since Jasper could barely look me in the face.
"From the test Jasper conducted, you can't get any of the women pregnant-"
"For-forgive me Beta Greg but he can get them pregnant... The cha-chances are just very low," Jasper corrected.
"Oh yes, the chances of getting any of them pregnant are very low. It might never happen, Axel."
My heart tore into two as I glared at Greg. If I couldn't impregnate them, it meant I couldn't have an heir. And if I couldn't give the kingdom an heir it meant, my hold on the throne was weak. Anyone strong enough lays claim to it and no one would stand against him. No. I couldn't let this happen.
"Jasper," I growled, turning my darkened eyes to him. "There has to be a solution! Anything!"
I had to hold the throne for my family. I had to keep the kingdom under my rule.
"There has to be something. Right, Greg?"
Greg and Jasper exchanged looks and Jasper nodded, signaling to Greg to tell me whatever they had discussed.
"The only solution will be to replace a Lycan female. One with your strength and abilities. It's the only way you can breed Axel," he said.
My heart dropped lower and began to race.
I got on my feet and started heading to the door. I would not give up. At least there was a chance the women could get pregnant. If not, then I had to be prepared.
"I want a troop of soldiers deployed to every pack and province. There has to be a Lycan female somewhere!" I roared as I marched out of the office.
My head had become crowded as my problems only increased by each day. I just moved aimlessly through the corridors, letting my legs lead me to wherever they wanted.
I found myself heading to the concubines' wing. I walked to their general room and got it open. Out of curiosity, I moved closer and stopped right by the door to see what they were up to.
Hoping their faces would ease the chaos in my body but my anger increased as my eyes landed on what was happening.
Violet was on the ground on all fours mopping the floor clean and Savannah sat with a sly smile on her face pouring even more liquid from her glass onto the floor where Violet was cleaning. My anger got redirected to the troubles in my mind and moved toward Savannah.
My hands tightened as Savannah went even further to pour the liquid into Violet's hair as she moved closer.
"Violet!" I roared and Savannah shrieked out of the chair at once.
"My King?" Savannah shrieked, running to my side. "Did you come looking for me?"
The words coming out of her mouth were like white sounds with no meaning at all.
My focus was only on Violet who remained on the floor with her blue eyes glued to mine.
I walked to where she was and raised her by the arm.
"Who asked you to come work here?" I growled.
Her beautiful blonde hair was stained with the red wine Savannah had poured on it.
"My King, I needed help with the wet floor and I called her," Savannah quickly butted in with a burst of awkward laughter.
The anger my wolf was feeling suddenly returned and I turned my burning gaze to her.
"She is my maid. Not yours! Next time you call her to clean for you, I will take out your fingers Savannah!"
Then I turned to Violet. "Get up and return to my chambers now!"
