The Lycan Series
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 50

Violet's

POV

As we got back to the castle, we could notice the commotion before we even got down from the vehicle. More guards were moving around the area, patrolling like they had found a bomb on one of the walls of the mansion and now it was their sole duty to replace the next one before it detonated.

"Violet, go to your room and stay there. I need to f*****g replace who dared to do this!" Emily hissed as she got down from the vehicle and started walking in the direction of the throne room.

As I headed inside, I noticed the slaves moving in a long file with bags in their hands. My brows furrowed as I became confused. I recognized Ash in the queue but I couldn't ask her anything. What exactly was going on?

Yes, Hilda had been kidnapped-which I wasn't very bothered about because I knew she would probably glare at her captors until they let her go- but what was happening around me, seemed more like we were under siege. My heart immediately jumped to my throat as my thoughts went to my parents. If they were moving the slaves to the main building, what about the prisoners? What would happen to them?

Quickly, I changed direction, and rather than go toward Axel's wing, I took the stairs that led to the lower levels where the dungeons were situated.

Thankfully, the guards were too busy preparing for the end of the world to even notice me.

I slipped past them and went to my parents' cell.

"Mom!" I called as I held tightly to the bars.

They were sitting on the bed and as soon as they saw me, I noticed their expressions changed at once.

My dad turned away from me and it took my mom a longer time to get up from the bed and come join me by the bars.

Confusion danced before my eyes. I was completely in the dark;

"Mom, what's going on?" I asked, my eyes moving over to my dad.

She heaved a heavy sigh and my eyes snapped back up at her. Now she was starting to scare me and my heart was thumping hard against my chest.

"Did they say something to you? Please, Mom, tell me. What's going on? Why did Dad turn away from me?"

"You have put us to shame, Violet," she said and my mouth didn't know if it should stay open or closed.

Her voice was harsh and bitter slicing through my heart till it was broken in two.

"Mom, what did I do?" I managed to croak out as emotions pushed through me.

"We have a daughter like you. Beautiful, yet stupid. How can you be called the Lycan's mistress and till today, nothing is being done about our condition? Why hasn't he released us yet? Why haven't you tried to make him do it?" Her questions only increased the panic and confusion I was already feeling.

"But Mom, I told you to give me time. I am trying to work towards it," I whispered with pain lacing my voice.

"You are trying?" She repeated, staring at me like I had grown two heads. "How are you trying? Because ever since you promised, I haven't seen any change!"

My throat went dry and I lacked the words to explain myself to her. It was true that I hadn't done anything physically but I was planning and waiting for the perfect opportunity.

"Mom please, give-"

"Violet," she called me, her stern voice twisting the air around us till it became hot and unbearable to breathe in. "Are you in love with him? Have you resumed your silly games with him?"

"No," I cried out, disputing it at once. "No, mom. I am not in love with him."

"Then why can't you kill him?" She asked and I felt my heart drop.

Even the Widow as twisted as she was, didn't ask me to kill Axel.

"Mom, I can't just kill a man without motives," I said and her eyes seemed to increase in size as she slapped my hands off the bars and stepped away from me. "What he is doing to your parents isn't enough! What more do you want? Is it until he kills us first?" She yelled not even caring that the guards could hear her.

"Use those brains of yours for the first time Violet! Safe your parents or stop showing your face here and let us die knowing we never had a daughter!" At this point, I felt a huge part of my heart sink.

I couldn't even speak. As she said those words, I just wiped the stray tears that had managed to drop from my eyes and I walked out of the dungeon.

The guards were surprised to see me but since I had been coming more regularly, they figured Greg would have granted me access. I walked under that pretext till I got to my room but just as I made to step in, Emily's voice stopped me. "Fuck me. I thought I told you to head to your room a long time ago?"

I froze on the tiles not knowing what to do.

The sound of her boots echoed around me, filling my heart with even more fear. Then she came to stand before me

"Violet, you smell of shit..." She said as she got in front of me. Her eyes raised and settled into mine.

"Be fucking careful, Violet. As much as I like you, I will not tolerate nonsense. If I replace out that you fucking did something funny or is planning something funny... It will not fucking end well for you," she said and I took that as my cue to run. I bowed to her and quickly ran into my room. I opened the door, stepped in, and closed it back as fast as I could. I slapped my back against it and tried to catch my breath.

"Violet!" Sky shrieked, making my already tender heart flip as she saw me.

She wrapped her arms around me and pulled me close to her. "Where have you been? I saw the King's sister in the throne room but I didn't see you there. Everyone has been trying to replace a place to settle in. It has been crazy!" She exclaimed. "What's going on, are we under attack?" I asked Sky.

She let go of me and pulled me to the bed. "I heard that there is a new King in the south and he is the one who stole Hilda! That's why they are moving everyone well everyone except Sam," she said with a sad look on her face. My brows met at once as I tried to understand what she meant. "I saw most of the slaves move into the main house. Even Ash, why would Sam not move with them?"

Her eyes dropped to her fingers and the excitement she had a while ago disappeared at once.

"Sky, what aren't you telling me?" I asked, shaking her.

"It's the king," she finally blurted out, her voice shaking as tears filled her eyes. "He found us in his office the other day and he broke his fingers... He also commanded that he should never step foot here because of you," she cried. It felt like a thunder went off in my head and all I wanted to do was scream at the multiple things that triggered my anger.

I got off the bed at once. "Why would Axel break his fingers? And then ask him not to step foot here because of me?! Does that make sense to you?" I cried out as I marched toward the door.

Sky ran to me and held the door. "Violet please, don't do anything. He is already angry with what is going on... If you-"

"No, Sky! You said it yourself, they are moving everyone, why won't Sam be allowed to move too?" I yelled, my anger blinding every rational thought within me.

"Because he thinks Sam is hitting on you!" Sky cried out.

Her body suddenly slumped and her shoulders shook as she began to cry. "Sam and I are in love with each other. He only sees you as a friend... But the King doesn't believe him..."

Her tears felt like cold water splashing through the heat of anger bubbling within me.

I drew closer to where she knelt on the floor and I gently held her arms.

"Sky, don't cry. I am not going to cause trouble. I'll go speak to his aunt. Okay, she'll definitely understand."

"Oh thank you so much, Violet, thank you..." She cried and I pulled her into a hug till she calmed down.

"I have to go now," I whispered to her before pulling away.

As I stepped out of my room, my heart clenched as I remembered Emily's eyes when she caught me just a minute ago. But I swallowed the lump of fear and decided to go to her. Sam couldn't remain in that place when everyone else was in the safety of the mansion.
