The Lycan Series
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 67

Violet's

POV

The heavy boots of the soldiers got closer, and my heart started shaking harder in my chest. I finally understood what Emily was trying to do. Just like the time she protected me from Axel replaceing me in the slave quarters with Sam, she was doing the same thing now. sealed my lips and held my breath as long as I could, praying that the men went somewhere else, but the boots continued heading in our way.

My heart clenched and I started reciting all the prayers I could remember as a child in my head, praying that an angel could be assigned to help me.

The look in Emily's eyes only increased the panic in mine. If Emily who was a wolf and could defend herself looked scared, what more could I do?

I closed my eyes and said one last prayer. If an angel couldn't respond to it, then I wouldn't mind getting rescued by a demon. I would pay for the consequences later.

Right now, I needed to be protected from these men."

The hair on my skin rose in alert as the boots got to the door and I watched in horror as the knob started moving. It happened in slow motion and as we both watched, we knew that our doom was coming. Suddenly, a deafening roar filled the air and the movement at the door stopped.

"What's that?" we heard the voices outside ask themselves.

I strained my ears, trying to pick out what was happening and then I heard it. The noise on the battlefield had somehow increased and I prayed that it was our soldiers who were winning this.

"He is here," another voice said outside, and my thoughts returned to it.

My heart skipped a beat as if it understood what they spoke about.

"He shouldn't have been here by now..."

"The boss says we should do all that we can to apprehend him..."

"Every soldier is to return to the war front..."

The voices kept going amongst themselves and i listened with keen interest as I understood that the person, they were getting worked up about, couldn't be another.

It was Axel. I could feel it.

"All, of you, outside. Now! Get the wolfsbane!" A voice yelled at the top of their lungs and a small gasp escaped Emily's lips.

I feared that the men outside would hear us but thankful, they were already far away from the door.

Silence filled the space and even though, we both knew that the men were gone, neither of us moved immediately. We remained in the room, waiting until we were certain that they were far gone.

Emily stepped away from my body and bent over so that her back was arched, and, her hands were resting on her knees.

"Holy fucking goddess!" she breathed, and I just remained on the wall watching her.

If it was possible, she looked even more shaken up than before and it made no sense in my head. How could she be worried when Axel was back?

"We have enough soldiers to repel them, right?" I blurted out before I could stop myself.

Emily straightened up at once as if my question had zapped her back to reality. She held my shoulders and looked deeply into my eyes.

"I know that you are fucking stubborn Violet, but I need you to stay in here

I must

go out there and help as much as I can, okay?" Her eyes swirled with emotions, further confusing me.

"But he is back with all our soldiers... you don't need to why do you look worried?

Did they say something in the wolf's tongue about Axel? Did something happen to him?" I asked her instead.

Her darkened eyes seemed to soften as she raised her hand and placed it on my right shoulder.

"It is lovely that you already consider them as your soldiers. But I am going to need you to stay here. These people will want to use you to f*****g harm Axel," she said, and I was stuck between agreeing blindly and asking more questions.

I stilt couldn't see the problem if Axel was back with the soldiers, in a matter of seconds they should annihitate the enemies, and everything would be back to normal. We don't have to worry about the enemy coming to get me... "Are we fucking clear?" she asked, and I decided to just agree blindly to her and replace out about it myself.

"Good. I will come back for you as soon as I get information and everywhere is clear," Emily said as she turned away from where I was and headed out of the room.

Just like the soldiers that had come for us, I let the echoes of her boots as she marched down the corridor disappear before I pulled the door open.

The corridor was completely empty, save for the bodies that lined the occasional spots.

The sound of the battle outside had intensified more than it was a while ago and I held my heart with my hand, as I prayed for our soldiers to keep fighting till the enemy was out. And while they were fighting, my goal was just like Emily's, I wanted to help too.

I completely stepped out of the room and started placing my feet over the sprawled bodies to get to the entrance where I could finally see what Axel and his men were doing.

But as I got there, my mouth dropped to the ground.

"Oh my God!" I whimpered as I watched the field before me.

The soldiers on our end were not as much as I had thought. The only addition to the guards that were desperately trying to protect the mansion now was a large dark wolf with green eyes that seemed to glow. Shit.

"Where the hell is Axel?" I wondered from my corner. He was supposed to be here helping the guards or... wait a second...

Was the dark wolf with glowing eyes Axel?

My eyes almost popped out of their sockets as I watched the huge wolf as it fought fiercely, tearing through the enemies.

It was strong and fast, but it wasn't enough. There were just too many people coming at him. I had to help somehow.

I started looking around for a weapon, anything to help me attack some of these men too. I wasn't some damsel in distress to wait out the trouble. I would join in the fight too.

My eyes finally landed on a stranded sword on the floor. It was just a couple of feet away from the body of its owner and it was just too perfect.

I didn't know how to use a sword, but I have watched a lot of practices from my window, Back when I wasn't a little child, it couldn't be that difficult to just put a sword through someone.

Quickly, I scurried out of my hiding place and went to where the sword was. The moment I touched the handle, I realized my first mistake. I didn't consider its weight. Damn, this thing was heavy.

But I couldn't give up. It was the only weapon around and I had to have one, summoned all my strength and raised the sword with both of my hands.

"You!" I heard a deep baritone voice call and my heart fell. They have found me.

I tightened my hold on the sword and turned to glare at him as fiercely as I could.

It was a well-built soldier with muscles everywhere around him. He didn't carry a weapon, but I noticed claws had replaced his fingers as he approached me.

"Come to me slowly and this wouldn't end badly.." he trailed, and I spat on the floor in disgust.

"I'd rather be carried around like a chicken than for me to surrender to you. Come get me," I said, balancing the heavy sword on one hand, like I had seen soldiers do both at my father's castle and with Axel. The man stopped, intimated by my stance for a second before his claws grew even longer and his advances continued.

The weight of the sword was starting to cause a strain on my hand, but I refused to let it fall and as the man got closer, I added an extra hand to it and swung in his direction with all my might. "Yah!" I groaned hoping to sever all his important organs.

But the man slapped the sword out of my hand in an instant. The shattering sound of the metal echoed within the walls of my soul.

Shit.

"I told you to come gently but you only want to play princess," he said with an evil grin in his eyes.

The hand where he slapped the sword away from, was hurting but I swallowed my pain and decided to put an end to this. I took a deep breath preparing my lungs for the war cry I was about to release.

But before I could make my move, the man in front of me moved at an impossible speed, and the next thing I knew, his sharp claws were wrapped around my neck, killing not just the sound I was about to produce but my air supply as well.
