The Lycan Series
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 82

Violet's

POV

Sky and other maids came to hold me back as soon as Axel left the place.

I cried so much that my head became a beating drum on my body.

My voice was totally gone and the ohly sounds that left my body were the occasional sniffles.

Ever since the revolution, I had always been alone but I had it in the back of my head that my parents were alive somewhere -now having to lose them both in one day... Right in front of me, cut through my heart so deeply, I thought I would die.

Life was more than meaningless because even tears failed me at a point. All I could hear was the whispers of comforting words Sky was saying but I refused to listen to her. V remained there on the ground for six hours. Everyone started leaving as soon as Axel did and I turned my head to Skylar.

- "Can I... Can I bury their bodies?" I stuttered in a barely audible voice.

Her face was bathed in worry and my question only seemed to add more to it.

"I would have to ask someone..." She said and then got on her feet. "Stay here. I'll be right back," she added before running in the direction of the house.

I couldn't even agree or disagree with her, I just looked on with a long face.

Minutes later she returned with two guards.

"They are over here," I heard Sky say, as she ran past me and pointed to my parents.

The guards started walking in the direction she had pointed and then she returned to my side.

"Violet, we have two large cover clothes, we can use them for them. Come help me spread them on the ground so the guards can place them on it," she said to me.

It was as if my soul was disconnected from the rest of my body, yet I found myself standing and going to do as she said.

I held one end while she held the other and together we spread the white clothes on the ground like picnic mats.

The guards carried their mutilated bodies, one after the other, and placed them on the clothes, one on each, including their falling heads.

Then Sky helped to roll them close before the guards carried them to the pit behind the square. Two other guards were there already and they had dug one large pit for them. stood on the edge and watched as they laid my supposed parents to rest.

One of the guards said a prayer and I was asked to say something as well but as I opened my mouth, I realised that I had nothing to say.

knew them as my parents, but ninety-five percent of the time we had been together, I didn't see them talking to me or taking care of me...

I had a nanny and she had been the one playing the mother role towards me. The other person that significantly took up space in my childhood was Axel..

My face squeezed into a frown and I tried searching once again but all I got were memories of them asking me to stay away from Axel, yet they pushed me to him themselves.

I saw them drinking and laughing on the dining table and when I wanted to join them, they would ask my nanny to take me away.

In the end, I found no memory that proved their love for me, so I just sighed. "May your souls replace rest in the afterlife," was all I could whisper before turning away and returning to Sky's room.

I kept to myself, trying to dig deeper into my head for days but I found nothing to prove anything.

After a week passed, I started believing their words. They were not my parents and this meant my parents

-or at least true family might have been out there

somewhere and I had to replace them.

Determination pumped through me and I started thinking of a plan to escape to the forgotten lands. I had to replace answers.

For the first time in days, I got up from my, corner and went to take a bath in the public area. When I was done, I returned and started packing a little bag.

"Hey..." Sky, trailed off behind me. I heard the excitement in her voice but I also heard it vanish as she saw me packing up.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

I stopped what I was doing and turned to look at her. "I need to replace my family... To y do that, I need to leave," I said.

A frown crept into her face and her eyes remained fixed on me.

"What are you saying?" She whispered harshly. "Your parents died right in front of you, what family are you talking about? Besides, you are not allowed to leave here...

You know that right?" She said in one breath.

But I let out a sigh and took her hands in mine. "I know this might sound crazy but before my parents died, they said I was not their child-"

"Violet, come on, we both know that it was just empty words because they were angry with you!" She retorted but I shook my head and placed her left arm on my growing stomach. "How do you then explain this?" I whispered.

Her eyes moved to my stomach slightly before returning to my face.

"You were there the other day when Axel was screaming at me... This pregnancy is possible because I am a halfling. There is Lycan blood somewhere within me that's how I was able to carry this child," I explained to her. Her frown slowly morphed into confusion as she shook her head slowly from side to side.

"This pregnancy is a miracle... It is not what you think..." She whispered. "You can't just deduce that you are a halfling because of a pregnancy... There has to be other things you can test..." She said and I went quiet. There was sense in what she was saying but I had no idea how I could test this theorem.

"The only way is to replace out if a human had been to the forgotten lands.. I need to confirm their story," I said.

Sky also heaved a sigh and then she tightened her hold on my arm.

"Well, if you insist, I think we need to speak to Hilda. She is the only one who can help you get out of here...

"She said before I could even agree she pulled me to

Hilda's office.

When we reached there, I knocked gently on the door before we went in and as soon as she saw me, she got off her chair and wrapped her arms around me.

"I am sorry about what happened. I should have come to you but the King insisted that 1 stay away from there-" She suddenly stopped talking as if she had remembered something.

"What are you doing here?" She asked as she pulled away and looked deeply into my eyes.

"I want to leave here and I need your help..." I blurted.

A flash of shock passed through her stern eyes but she quickly covered it up.

"I can't do that Violet... But, Aunt Emily can.

The hope I had instantly died. There was no way Emily was going to help me. She had changed towards me in the last few times we met before my parents got killed but I couldn't depend on that. "I know what you are thinking but Aunt Emily really cares about you and if this...

The adventure you seek will prove that you are truly carrying the King's child, I can assure you that she wouldn't refuse to help you..."

"Okay," I whispered reluctantly.

I moved to the door and got out of her office.

In my head, I hoped that Hilda could just sneak me out. I didn't want to get so many people involved but now, it was beginning to look like I didn't have a choice.

I was about to take the first step to Emily when Sky tapped on my shoulder.

"I have to go take care of Sam, can you handle her alone?" She whispered.

"Yes, sure... Of course." I slapped a hand to my head suddenly feeling like the worst friend in the universe. "How is he?"

"Do not worry. Sam is doing great and he sends his greetings to you every day..." She answered with a smile on her face.

"Please pass on my greetings as well..." I replied, tightening my hold on the bag.

Sky's eyes followed the movements of my hands and then she looked into my face.

"Stay away from the main corridors and avoid the king by all means necessary, okay?" "Yes, I am good."

Satisfied, she pulled me into a hug before turning away in the opposite direction.

Now that I was alone in the corridor, my heart started beating.
