The Lycan Series
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 91

Axel's POV

Asking Violet to sleep at my door was more like killing two birds with one stone. I got to keep an eye on her, and I got to punish her for her crimes each time I passed. She was a cheap whore, and I didn't forget to remind her of it with every chance I got.

As much as I began to enjoy what quickly became a routine, I couldn't deny how dearly I paid for it.

Every night my wolf tormented me. It twisted and rolled in my chest as if it wanted to get separated from my body due to the pain, I was causing Violet. I tried to ignore it but the more time she spent at my door, the stronger the pull became.

Forgiving her seemed like the best thing to do because each time I caused her pain, I saw how much it broke her heart. I saw that innocence I fell for, it had to be love, to hurt the way it did. I slowly started considering calling off the whole cruel treatment and giving in to my wants.

Every day when I woke up, I told myself that I would talk to her and end this t*****e I was putting both of us through but the moment I would set my eyes on her large bump, I would become disgusted and change my mind instantly.

The large bump on her was a constant reminder of what she had done and even if a side of me whispered the possibility of it being mine, I couldn't let my emotions cloud my judgment. She had cheated and I would continue punishing her for it, till that bastard got out of her.

And this morning it wasn't different. I woke up feeling very hopeful and determined to end the pain but as I stepped out of my room, she wasn't at the door. a frown settled on my lips as I looked around the empty corridor wondering if she had run off or something. Just the very thought of her running, brought my anger to the surface because that was a trait she inherited from her sick parents. They always ran when they couldn't manipulate their way into a situation anymore. My hands balled into fists as 1 marched down to the lower floors, determined to laugh at Greg when he got to replace out what that cheap whore had done.

But just as I got to the kitchen corridor, I perceived the sweet scent of food - someone was cooking.

My eyes opened wide as I realized that Violet might have woken up early to do breakfast and maybe she had people helping her without my knowledge. My anger got redirected to whoever would dare help her when I had strictly banned everyone from doing so. I marched in the direction of the kitchen, but I didn't kick the door open as I had planned, I stopped at the door and checked what was going on.

I could hear the excited voice of her maid and another calmer one that belonged to Hilda, but I could only see Violet as she moved around the counter, taking off the pans and casseroles from the heat.

Her beautiful blonde hair was matted to her face from her sweat. There were also particles of white floor on her face as she worked with a pink flush. And then she smiled at something her maid had said...

The effect caused my heart to skip a beat. My wolf whined, begging for me to go to her. She was so beautiful even when she wasn't trying. A complete trap her parents had placed in my life, but it wasn't going to work anymore.

My hands tightened and I walked away from the door with a frown on my face. I wouldn't let those cheap tactics get to me.

I got to the dining and sat down on my chair, waiting for the bell to be rung and the table to be set that was what I wanted to make myself believe but deep down in the deepest part of my dark soul, I was waiting for Violet.

As if my mind had willed her somehow, she appeared with a tray a couple of minutes later and placed it on the floor before bowing her head in greeting.

"Good morning my king.. I didn't know you were here. Is there anything you may need?"

'You, my wolf growled in response, but I repressed it.

"I don't need anything. Just get on with your work and don't piss me off today," I hissed, turning my eyes off her body.

She nodded and continued with her work, placing the different meals from the kitchen and back. As she finished the breakfast bell was rung and everyone started trickling in.

"Today is Sky and Sam's wedding day, don't you think Violet should get a day off considering how close they are?" Greg said the minute he settled into the chair.

"Good morning to you too but I don't need your advice on how to handle my slaves," I growled in response.

1 didn't know if it was just me, but the old man was becoming even more annoying as time passed especially with matters that had to do with Violet and I couldn't stand it. "Axel," a soft voice called pulling me out of my thoughts.

My eyes moved to my sweet little sister and for a second my worries vanished. "Yes, Scarlett?"

. She dropped her head back to the food in front of her and started picking through it. "I think Uncle Greg is right. You should let her attend the party." She raised her head and rather than meet my stormy eyes she looked at Violet, "You want to attend the party, don't you?"

Violet's face turned pale for an instant as she stared back at her. Then her eyes moved to Greg before they got to me and then back at Scarlett again. "I... I don't-" she stuttered.

"You don't have to be scared of anyone," Nathan growled from his corner. "If you want to go to the party, just say it."

"I... I should-"

"It's obvious she wants to go," Greg hissed interrupting the mumbles coming off

Violet's lips.

"Axel, please let her go. For my sake," Scarlett begged and for the love of me, I couldn't refuse my sister anything. I gritted my teeth and waved my hand in Violet's direction.

"You may go but make sure you return early to complete your chores. I am not giving you a full day off," I hissed, losing my appetite at once.

"Thank you," she mumbled, and I could tell she didn't direct it to me as her eyes were on other members of my family and not me. She had already succeeded in making my aunt switch to her corner and now she was aiming for the rest of my family. Great. Just great.

"Axel, where are you going?" Scarlett asked as I got off my chair in irritation. "You barely ate your food..." she pointed out.

"I need a drink," I growled and walked out on them.

Throughout the day, I locked myself in the office drinking as much wine as I could until I was completely numb. The pain in my heart went away and the intoxication brought me happiness. The rational part of me no longer worked and I was grateful for the ******e. By the time I left the office, it was already very late into the night, and I dragged my body slowly till I got to my room. I was reaching for the doorknob when my eyes went over to Violet's sleeping form on the floor.

My heart swelled and I felt butterflies flutter in my head.

"Mate," I growled softly as I abandoned the doorknob I was aiming for and went over to her. Without thinking, I picked her up from the ground and carried her in my arms like the innocent angel she was, then I took her to my room.

I placed her gently on the bed and curdled behind her, pulling her ass close to my clutch. I wasn't horny, I didn't want to take her, I just wanted to enjoy the feeling of her body against mine.

The drowsy effect of the alcohol I had drowned in all day finally set in and it wasn't long before sleep stole me away. If I were to rate it, it had to be the best sleep I have had in months. But like everything in this cruel world, it must come to an end.

As soon as the first rays of the sun started seeping into the room a loud bang went off in my head and I opened my eyes right in time to replace Nathan standing in my room with a smile on his face.

"I hate to be the one to ruin this lovely reunion that we have all been waiting for, but Asher is back," he said grinning from ear to ear.

A frown covered my face as his words registered in my head and I snapped my head to the side to realize that what had happened last night was not a dream. I had truly carried Violet into my bed, and I enjoyed it.

Disgust rushed through me and without thinking I roughly pushed her sleepy form off my body with such force that she landed hard on her large bump.
