The Lycan Series
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 98

Violet's

POV

"This is even prettier than I remember it!" Skylar screeched as she helped me arrange my clothes in the drawers.

"We are going to need baby clothes. The crochet tops you made, wouldn't be enough.

We will have to tell the king-" Hilda started to say but I quickly refused it.

"No, Hilda. I don't want his help."

"But he is your mate. Your husband," she pointed out, but I shook my head refusing her words.

"He isn't my mate and much more my husband. He is just the man that fathered my baby," I whispered. My eyes moved to where my baby lay in a beautiful crib. How Scarlett got everything made in such a short time was surprising. She was truly an angel. I was suddenly pulled out of my thoughts as I felt a warm hand rest on my shoulders. I moved my eyes off my child and traced the source of the hand to replace it belonged to Hilda.

"We all know that Axel did you wrong, but you can't deny the fact that you love him

"Before loving him, she had herself to fucking love," Emily's voice suddenly filled the room and I turned to replace her standing by the door.

My heart jerked alive, and my legs moved from where I stood to her position. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close. "Emily, you are back," I whispered as my emotions overwhelmed me.

She had been gone for so long. Leaving her family, and her husband behind, just to uncover my truth.

"Yes, I am back but I didn't come back alone. I brought someone with me." My heart skipped a beat and my eyes refused to move from her as anticipation started eating me up. The fact that she didn't curse in that one sentence, meant this wasn't a joke. She was dead serious.

She smiled at me and motioned to the door. I looked just in time to replace it opening wide and a man was standing there with a boyish grin on his face.

Our eyes locked and I felt a pull in my heart that drew me towards the young man in front of me.

It felt like I was supposed to know him... from somewhere yet no

matter how much i looked at him, I couldn't remember anything.

The cloud of confusion spread over my face, and I turned to Emily for help. She had a warm smile on her face, and she nodded at me as if I could suddenly understand the new language she developed. "Violet, this is Asher, your cousin," she whispered, and my heart dropped to my stomach.

My eyes returned to the man in front of me and i felt a swelling begin in my heart.

Tears began to dance, and I couldn't even stop them from falling. Emily had gone to the forgotten lands to replace my history, but she didn't just return with the information, she returned with my family -a real one.

"How?" I whispered as tears welled up in my eyes and before Emily could respond, the man Asher, stepped forward and wrapped his arms around me.

"You don't have to cry. I know it's crazy, but it is true..." he whispered. "You are not just a human princess, you are a Lycan princess too."

Emily and Asher went on to explain everything they had discovered about my real mother and father. Asher even had pictures of them to back it up. By the time they finished narrating everything to me, I was in tears, yet I was happy.

I thought I had lost everything. I thought my life was meaningless and all that was left was for me to die but now, I had a family. Someone who was sincerely happy to replace me.

That night I couldn't sleep, as my happiness knew no bounds. Asher stayed with me till late in the night,

telling me stories of the land my father owned. He told me

about their culture and how much he had lived in fear of being alone... it was surreal.

When morning came, I was eager to join him after breakfast so we could talk more.

So, I got up very early and took a quick shower, so I could begin my day early enough. When I stepped out of the shower, Skylar was already in the room.

"Good morning..." she trailed as her eyes swept over me.

"You are up and ready so

early, what's the occasion? You are meant to be resting."

I walked to where my baby was, and I placed a kiss on his forehead. "I don't want anything to hurt my happiness today. Asher said we are going to spend the time together, so I want to finish up my chores in good time, so no one prevents me from going." "What chores are you talking about?"

I left my baby and walked towards the door. "Sky, you know what I do every day in this palace-"

"But Princess Scarlett asked you to forget about all that and just focus on you," she cried out joining me at the door.

"Yes, she did say that but we all know what Axel is capable of. I would rather not fall into his trap." I tapped her lightly on the shoulder and pulled the door open,

"Please take care of my baby and if he needs anything, do not hesitate to call me.". Sky was left stunned as her eyes watched me leave the room. Honestly, I would have loved to take a long break and enjoy the rest Scarless had insisted I take but I knew Axel. The last thing I wanted was to get on his nerves and let him ruin my happiness.

With a smile on my face, I walked down to the kitchen and started on the meals.

Halfway through my job, Scarlett walked into the kitchen with raised brows.

"Violet, what are you doing here? You just delivered, you should be resting..." she cried out running to take over what I was doing but I smiled and politely turned away from her.

"Thank you very much for your kind words but it would be best if we don't annoy him. Besides, it's just breakfast," I said with an awkward smile, but she wasn't convinced.

"This needs to end, and it will end now," she said in a stern voice. She walked out of the kitchen, and I was hoping she didn't go to her brother when I heard the breakfast bell being rung.

My eyes widened as shock took over me. I wasn't even done yet, if Axel came down and met the food undone, there was bound to be trouble.

I hurriedly put the rest of the meal on fire and ran out of the kitchen to the dining to speak some sense into Scarlett but to my surprise, I met the entire family already seated including Asher. But thankfully Axel wasn't there yet.

"Good morning," I mumbled to everyone and then ignored the long sad looks they were giving me. I went straight to Scarlett.

"Why did you ring the bell, I am not done yet. Axel will be furious," I whispered to her, but the room was so silent I was sure everyone heard me.

"Violet, you no longer must worry about kitchen duties. Please join us," Greg's voice filled the silence in my ears, and I turned to him with fear in my eyes

"But... Axel-"

"It doesn't matter what Axel fucking said. I am back now, and I want to put some fucking law and order down here. So, please, Violet, sit down," Emily's voice joined his and I turned to her.

I trusted her. I trusted all of them. But I also knew the sort of monster that lived inside Axel. He wasn't going to take this calmly.

"What about the food. I -the food I left in the kitchen?" | stuttered as my trembling feet moved closer to the table.

Emily waved her hand and Scarlett nodded. "Maids are already attending to it as we speak. Violet, you don't have to worry about anything."

She smiled and I felt choked, but I managed to smile back as I slowly made my way to the seat. They left the chair on the left side of his seat for me, while Emily was on the right, leaving the chair in between us empty -for Axel.

My heart was racing as fear and panic started eating through me. It was obvious that they had a plan, and it might have been to help me, but I could already imagine what Axel would do. I squeezed my eyes shut for a few seconds, making a quick prayer to the goddess to extend the time so I could calm myself before Axel got here but my prayer was a second too late.

As my eyes flew open, I felt goosebumps spread all over my skin and my heart skipped at least three beats as his aura filled the room long before he appeared.

I instantly dropped my eyes to the table, not wanting to meet with his as he sat on the chair next to me.

A deafening silence filled the room, and I wondered what was going on, but I was too afraid to check. My hands started trembling on the table and I started taking them off to prevent them from drawing attention when Asher -who was sitting on my left- held them. "It is clear, that my cousin is not comfortable staying here. She has been maltreated and degraded in every way and I can no longer stand to see the fear in her beautiful eyes," Asher's strong voice filled the room, and my heart froze.

My hand squeezed over Asher's, but he turned to me with a smile. "Do not worry, dear cousin. Everything will be fine. Just trust me," he whispered, before turning his burning eyes to Axel.

I understand that she was bought as a slave. So, King Axel, I want to buy her freedom. I want to take her and the child you refused to accept as your offspring because unlike you, a true Lycan never denies his own. How much will you take?"
