The Lycan King’s Breeder Chapter 46

Avalyn's POV

"I want you, Avalyn." Talon's whisper wrapped around me as we lay tangled in the sheets, our bodies molding together in heated passion. "Don't leave me," I begged him.

He forced me to look up at him. My fingers ran through his jet-black hair, and my gaze met with dark brown eyes. He was so gorgeous, he was my world.

Over and over, he made me come undone around him. The feeling of his length sliding in and out of me made my mind spiral. I wanted him -all of him. Always. His hands brushed over my bare skin sending shivers of pleasure through my body. "You are mine forever, Avalyn. Not Willow, not anybody else." He growled against my ear. "And I am yours forever."

His declaration made the love I had for him grow. I knew that there was no way I would ever get over how he made me feel. Yet, as the passion grew between us, he suddenly felt so far away. His body was sliding away from mine, leaving me with an empty feeling. "Talon?"

My panic-filled voice drifted in an endless sea of darkness, and the sounds of whispers drew me out of that place of I**t and desire, until, my eyes finally snapped open. A groan of disappointment left my lips as I rolled over, facing the fireplace where Dawn and Emily sat eating fruits and reading books.

Fuck! It had been a dream, and it had been more than an amazing dream.

Everything that had happened was something I wished deep down would come true, but I knew deep down that getting my hopes up was only going to be wasteful.

I felt slightly ashamed for having inappropriate fantasies about somebody else's partner, but I couldn't help myself.

"You're finally awake." Emily yawned. "I was wondering how long Dawn and I would have to watch you sleep."

"How long was I asleep?" My voice came out hoarse. I seriously needed a drink.

Dawn walked over with a glass full of water and offered it to me. I whispered a small 'thank you' before gulping down the liquid as if my life depended on it. "Only a few hours." She replied to my question.

I stared at them in shock, before hopping off the bed to look out the window, up at the sky, the sun was already setting. "You guys have been here since?" I asked, taken by surprise. I hadn't expected them to wait for me to wake up, and neither had I expected to even sleep for that long.

"Well yeah, Dawn didn't want to go to the library without you." Emily scoffed.

I looked at Dawn and she rolled her eyes. "Ignore her." She said. "We were going for a run, I didn't want to leave until I was sure you were okay."

"I'm coming with you guys, right?" I asked, hoping they'd say yes. Everyone had been extra protective lately, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't let me come along.

"Of course you are. Fuck what Talon says, you're coming with us." Emily declared loudly, getting up from her crouched position on the floor. She ignored the judgemental look on Dawn's face and strolled over to me, dragging me along.

"If we get yelled at, just remember it was Emily's idea." I heard Dawn call out as Emily let out a small chuckle.

We made our way to the large door that led to the library and Emily pushed it open, I stepped in and was immediately swarmed with the comforting smell of new books. It had been so long since I came here, considering I was always ordered to stay in my room now. "You like it, don't you?" Emily smirked, noticing the smile of satisfaction on my face. I gave her a small nod and she laughed. "I could tell you were a bookworm from the moment I laid my eyes on you."

I couldn't deny it, I had always loved books ever since I was in school. It felt comforting to get lost in a world of my own imagination. I browsed through the shelves, running my fingers through books and picking out the ones that piqued my interest. At least I would have something to keep me busy while in my room.

We had been seated in silence for a few minutes, reading books, when we heard the door burst open. I looked over and saw Willow stepping into the room with two maids behind her. Her blue eyes immediately zeroed in on me.

Dawn and I quickly stood up to bow, but Emily remained seated, acting as if she hadn't seen Willow enter. I was aware that she didn't really approve of her brother's mate, I just didn't think she'd be disrespectful toward her as well.

Willow on the other hand seemed to be very used to Emily's behavior, as she just ignored her and made her way to one of the many shelves in the room to pick a book. Immediately she was done, she turned around and left the room, the maids trailing behind her. I felt a wave of relief wash over me, I had honestly expected her to walk up to me and threaten me or something. She had totally ignored us like we didn't exist. I knew I should feel safer with Dawn and Emily with me, but somewhere deep down, an alarm bell went off inside my head.

I spent the rest of my evening at the library on edge, even after Dawn and Emily had seen me off to the comfort of my bedroom, I still felt bugged, something just didn't sit right with me but I couldn't figure out what it was.

I had tossed and turned for a whole hour after laying on my bed trying to replace sleep. I cursed myself for ruining my sleep schedule, it seems like no matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't fall asleep. I got up from the bed and picked up a book I had been reading at the library, in hopes that I could at least continue it to take my mind off my predicament. But after a while of trying and failing to lull myself back to sleep with my book, I finally gave up.

"Fuck it." I cursed, hopping off the bed. I grabbed a small jacket from my closet and threw it on. "Guess I'm going for a walk," I whispered to myself.

I didn't know if I was allowed to leave my room at night or not, there hadn't been any rule against it. It couldn't be wrong for me to go for a little walk. Besides if anybody asked, I would just tell them the baby needed a walk. They all seemed to care about the baby, anything surrounding it would pass.

As I pushed the door open, I noticed that the hallway was devoid of people, but I knew I wasn't completely alone. There were guards stationed at the entrance of the hall, I could even hear light laughter coming from that direction. That meant that route wasn't for

me.

I went in the opposite direction and took the next corner that brought me to the stairs, humming a tune that had been stuck in my head since I had woken up earlier today. I wondered what Dawn and Emily would be up to now. It was already late at night, but I knew they weren't asleep yet, they were probably still on their run. I wished I could at least go with them one day.

I was snapped, however, from my thoughts as I immediately felt a pair of hands push me from behind. I let out a scream as I felt my legs give way. I tried to keep my balance but my body was like a heavy balloon and my legs were jellies.

I watched in horror as my body proceeded to tumble down the stairs. It felt like hours -but I knew it had only taken a couple of seconds- before my body hit the ground, the side of my head slamming violently against the tiled floor.

A small groan of pain left my lips and I felt something trickle down the side of my face. I tried to raise my hand to wipe it away but was immediately hit with a wave of nausea. I felt darkness clouding my vision but all I could think about was my baby. Panic rushed through me as negative thoughts started to run through my mind, I silently prayed to whatever god was out there for my baby to be fine.

My heart was beating so fast, the panic was starting to eat me from the inside.

I heard the soft clicking sound of heels against the tiled floor, and I watched as a blurry figure appeared in my line of sight. The last thing I saw was a pair of crystal blue eyes staring right back at me, and then darkness swallowed my consciousness.
