The Lycan Series -
Bullied By The Lycan King Chapter 11
Axel's POV
"What do you think you are doing?" Greg's voice boomed into the room as he walked in.
He looked agitated -unkempt even.
I dropped the pen I was wiggling between my fingers and glared at him.
"What is it you think I did?"
His eyes darkened and he moved closer to the desk and slapped his palms over it. "Don't you dare play ignorance with me? I walked with your father long enough to know when your Lycan traits have started pushing you in the wrong direction. What have you done to the human king?"
As he mentioned the said offense, I let a small chuckle escape my lips.
"I didn't kill him. Not yet." I mumbled before I resumed reviewing the papers in front of me.
I could sense Greg's unease as he watched me work but he held back. We both knew the only reason I allowed him to speak to me in such a manner was because he worked with my father... But he knew his limits.
He stopped fuming and lowered himself in the chair in front of me.
"Axel," he started in a low voice filled with restrictions. "I know that you are angry. I know that you want revenge. But so much blood in one day isn't very healthy-"
Now I understood where his anger was coming from. It wasn't just about the human king, he was also complaining about the silly slaves I had to punish before Violet came.
"Greg, those humans deserve what came for them." I hissed.
"Did you have to do it in front of the girl?" He asked in a low voice.
I wanted to get angry but my wolf was taking his side. He also sympathized with Violet.
"Did you have to punish her father in Infront of her?"
"She broke the fucking rules, okay?" I snapped. My anger was mostly directed at myself.
"And the best punishment was to show her your trophy room and bleed her father?"
I kicked the table and got on my feet. "What's your f*****g problem? Why do you care so much about the girl?"
"I do not care about the girl. I care about you!" He retorted.
"We need our king to be focused. We need you to give us an heir. And not spend your time punishing slaves-"
"How I spend my time is none of your fucking business Greg!"
"That's where you are wrong!" He snapped back, glaring at me with the same intensity.
The tension in the room increased. It was pressing down on us like a heavy rain cloud threatening to spill over our heads.
"You are like a son to me, Axel. I will not sit down and watch you hurt yourself!"
"I am not hurting myself, Greg!" I snapped back.
"Yes, you are! There is something about this girl that you haven't admitted to yourself!" His voice boomed stronger than mine.
At that moment, I was no longer his king. He was the guardian I ran to for support when the world closed in on me and I was like a son to him.
"How I spend my time is none of your f*****g business Greg!"
"There is nothing. Violet is just a tool!" I mumbled ignoring the purring sound my wolf made against that comment.
Axel let out a deep sigh and he placed his hands on his waist.
"The pack and the kingdom might need you as a king... but I want you to stay focused so that when your father returns, I can look into his eyes and tell him that I trained you well enough," he said. At the mention of my father's name, I turned away from him and faced the window. My heart was aching at the void my father's absence had caused in my life.
"There is something I saw in your eyes the day you saw that girl... I don't know what it is yet but if she is only a tool as you say she is," he paused, allowing his words to sink and blend with the air. "Use her and dump her before you get attached."
He walked out of the room and left me to ponder over his words.
The pain in my heart intensified as my breathing became my only companion. I raised my right hand and rubbed it slowly as I thought through his words.
He was right.
Violet was a tool. I should use her as soon as possible and then discard her.
"But she is ours..." My wolf growled.
"No!" I hissed, fisting my hands in anger. "She is not!"
I moved out of the room, determined to put an end to her usage.
"Get me Violet, the human princess now!" I roared to the guard standing by my door.
I begin pacing around the office. I was panting and fuming at my wolf. How dare he think Violet was hours? She was nothing but a human. Weak and low!
I could never-
My thoughts come to an abrupt stop as footsteps resonate down the corridor. I raised my head and I replace, Violet walking towards me with two guards behind her.
Her eyes were swollen and her nose was red from all the tears she had shed. It was like a packed punch in my chest as I was reminded that I brought the pain upon her. My insides turned together painfully.
Greg was right. I didn't need this right now. I should detach myself before it becomes unbearable. My problem was with her parents and not her.
They got closer to where I stood and the guards bowed respectfully before turning to leave.
Her eyes were planted on the floor and I was filled with bitterness as I noticed her shaky hands.
'You are scaring her... My wolf growled.
I clenched my teeth and let out a deep sigh. "Get inside the office," I said to her, my voice hanging between harsh and soft.
She didn't argue, she turned immediately and with slow precise steps, she walked into the office.
I turned around and followed her, closing the door behind me.
I walked around the table and sat on my chair. I placed my hands on the table and joined my fingers together.
She was still standing with her head bowed and her shoulders slightly trembling.
"Sit," I said.
She swallowed her audible and I could feel her fear from where I stood. My wolf was on edge, struggling to be released but if I wanted to do this right, I had to be in full control. I pushed my wolf to the back of my mind and waited for Violet to sit.
"I want you to leave."
Her bright blue eyes flashed before my eyes as if I had dropped a bomb on her.
"I... What about my parents?" She stuttered.
Anger sizzled at the tip of my fingers and I clenched them tighter.
"I am sure you still understand English clearly," I hissed. "I said... I want you to leave. I no longer require your services. You may leave, right now!"
Fat tears dropped from her eyes and I had to look away to stop my wolf from affecting my head.
She pushed the chair she was sitting on backward and she dropped to the floor.
"Please, I will do anything you want but please, let my parents go..." She pleaded.
I returned my eyes to her face and I narrowed my eyes on her.
"What do you think you can offer that I do not already have?"
She wiped her tears with the back of her hand and sniffled. She got up from her knees and moved her fingers to the back of her neck.
My brows furrowed as I watched her.
The sound of a zipper opening filled the room and her dress spread open from the back, then with her free hand, she started pulling the right side off her shoulder.
My cock twitched in my pants and my vision darkened as my wolf pushed to be set free.
I shook my head and regained control, once again.
"What do you think you are doing?" I growled at her. "Have you lost your mind now?"
"I want to offer you my body in exchange for my parent's freedom..." Her weak voice sang in the room.
I scoffed. Surely, the trauma she went through must have made her lose her mind.
"Sleeping with a human is the last thing on my mind," I said getting off the chair and walking menacingly towards her.
I came and stood directly in front of her, a mental battle going on in my head as my wolf fought to take control.
"But you wanted me, the other night at the dungeon..." She said softly..
Her response woke the beast in me. My anger surged.
I grabbed her hands and shook her fiercely. "I never wanted you and I will never want a useless creature like you!" I growled.
"Now, since you stupidly decided to throw away the card I gave to you, I want you to return to the slave quarters and never show your face in my mansion again! The day I will set my eyes on you, I will kill your parents!"
