The Magic Door
The Move In

There is a door that can take you somewhere that no human has ever been, and that’s Zarlakarla. A powerful man that died by giving all of his powers in the door that made this magical door. Hidden the door from the world when the people were using the door for evil. Over the years, the power of the door grew weaker and weaker till it slowly became a normal door. Some say someone with the same power runs in the veins like the man that made this door will return its powers. Years went by as the door was in an old house that was in the forest with a sold sign outside on the lawn. Two cars drove on the lawn as people were talking. The cars stopped right in front of the house. Hearing the engines go off and the doors of the cars open while a man stood from his car door as he looked at the house. He was about 5’10 feet tall and had tan, pale skin, floppy blonde hair and green eyes. His green eyes look at the house as if it could use a touching up. Boarded-up windows as the paint on the house chipped and the color light green was fading. The man sighed and smiled as he could already tell he had a lot of work. Now the man’s name is Peter Williams. Twenty-year-old man who just moved out of his parent’s home and his hometown. It was a small town and everyone knows one of each other and Peter wants a new chapter of his life. He bought a house that is far away from his hometown and close to the city. His family came with him to help him move in and unpack his boxes. Peter’s mother, Mrs. Williams, and his little sister named Samie, who is just only sixteen years old, took care unpacking the boxes as Peter’s father, Mr. Williams, and his three brothers that are triplets. Jean, Jim, and Jo. The three are the oldest and live together in a big house bigger that the house that Peter is going to live in. They are going to fix up the house a bit, like taking down the borders off the windows and fixing the windows with new ones. For Peter, he was checking the house for any animals that were staying in the house till he got to a door that was locked from the inside. He shook the knob a little before walking off.

“Hey mum, did the landlord have any extra keys for the rooms in the house?” Peter asked his mother as she was putting the kitchen stuff away.

“No, he has not. Why? Is one door locked?” Mrs. Williams asks while putting some dishes away in the cupboards.

“Yeah, there is only one room, but I will figure out how to get it open somehow.” Peter said as he helped his mother putting some cups in the cupboards.

“Maybe there is a dead body in there.” Said Samie while walking into the kitchen as she was doing the living room.

Peter gives her a look while she smirks at him. “Samie, would you shut up about the house being haunted? For the last time, this house isn’t haunted!” He told her while Samie rolled her eyes and walked off.

“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, bro, just don’t be calling me if a dead woman comes to you at night.” Samie wiggle her fingers as Peter glares at her.

“Alright that is enough! Samie, come help me put the rest of these dishes as you, Peter, go check your father and brothers.” Mrs. Williams told them as Peter headed off to replace his brothers and his father.Outside, Jean and Jim were putting in new windows and Jo and Mr. Williams were taking off the borders from the windows. Peter walked over to them as he looked at the outside house with a smile. The new windows make the house look newer now instead of the chip and fad light green paint. By the house is a pile of wood that was boarded up on the windows and a toolbox next to the pile. Peter walked up to Jean and Jim as they finished with the windows up top, as some windows were okay. Jean, the firstborn, wraps his arm around Peter’s shoulder while Jim, the second born, just pulls out his phone and takes pictures of the house. The three of them were just looking at the house till they heard someone yell and a loud crashing sound. Without thinking, the three run to where the sound comes from. When they got there, they saw Jo hanging upside down as Mr. Williams was holding him by the ankle while laying on the flat part of the house.

“Hang on Jo!” Jean yelled as he and Jim ran up closer as Peter saw the ladder and ran over to it.Jean and Jim were below Jo just in case he falls and they can catch him while Peter moves the ladder closer to Jo. Jo was turning green as he couldn’t take being upside down for so long as Jean and Jim saw this and helped Peter level up with Jo.

“Grab the ladder, Jo!” Peter yelled while looking up at his brother with worried eyes.Jo grabbed the ladder and shook his leg to tell Mr. Williams to let go. Once he did, Jo’s bottom half fell down as he was holding on the ladder tightly. His back hit the ladder while gasping in pain. Jean and Jim grabbed his legs and Jo let go while Jean and Jim slowly put him down on the ground. Peter was looking up at his father as he stood up and started going down the ladder.

“Is Jo alright?” Mr. Williams asked as Jo was a little shaken up, but was calming down.

“I think he is alright.” Jim said as their father sighed.

“What happened?” Jean asked while checking Jo.

“We were pulling a board off the last window, but it was not moving till Jo kicked it and lost his footing and fell backwards. Luckily I caught him in time.” Mr. Williams said as Jim smacked Jo behind the head as Jo rubbed the back of his head.

“You nimrod! You would have to get yourself killed if your father was not around!” Jim told Jo as he sighed.

“I know and I’m sorry for worrying you guys.” Jo said as Jean and Jim smiled at him while Mr. Williams was calming down and Peter was patting Mr. Williams’ back.Samie and Mrs. Williams came running out with worried looks on their faces. Samie stopped and sighed as she saw nothing was wrong, for Mrs. Williams looked worried like a worried chicken like getting chased by a chicken hawk.

“What happened?!” Mrs. Williams asked with a shaky voice.

“Nothing happened, love, just Jo here being a nimrod, like he always is. But don’t worry, these three good brothers came to the rescue!” Mr. Williams said as Mrs. Williams looked at Jo with wide eyes.

“What did you do this time?” She asked as Jo sighed.

“I kinda kicked a board that was still attached to the window and I lost my footing and fell off the roof.” Jo told her as she gasped and Samie just laughed her head off.

“Yup! That’s nimrod!” Said Samie in between laughs.

“Samie, stop it! Oh, my son, are you alright?” Mrs. Williams asked as Jo smiled a little.

“Yeah, I am fine, mum.” Said Jo as Mrs. Williams went over to him and checked him over.

“Dear, he is fine, now let’s finish helping Peter get his house all ready.” Mr. Williams said as everyone went back to work.Peter still wonders why that door is locked and he wonders why the landlord said nothing about a door being locked. Who knows? He thought. Maybe it’s just a jammed door he has to work on someday.
