The Princess’s Broken Alpha -
Chapter 2
Seven years later
"Not because you're down there doesn't mean you should hit after my nuts!" Samuel growls and takes a swing as I wheel past him, our laughter booming through the main house.
"C'mon Sammy I might as well take advantage of my predicament!"
"You're an asshole!" he swats again. "And it's Samuel. You know I hate being called Sammy."
Samuel Cartier is as big and fierce as they come with jet black hair, green eyes and a scar across his cheek. He is literally the hulk. Ever since we were little he's hated being called Sammy. I don't know why but he just hates that version of his name. I've tried to get to the root of it but he just doesn't crack. I honestly don't think he even really has a particular issue. I think he just hates the name.
I have two brothers and thankfully no sisters. Samuel is the youngest at twenty seven years old while Daniel is twenty eight and guess how old I am? Twenty nine. I know my dad could have at least given the coochie a break. If he was here to hear me say this he'd break my ass more than it's broken already. We're all lined up behind each other by just a year.
I know you must be wondering what is going on? Why is the guy in the wheelchair the Alpha? There is clearly other people more equipped to carry out the role. But then do they have my rich personality and sense of humour? No. I'm as good as they come. "Morning Alpha, Beta. All we're missing is the Delta." Sophie croons as we wave past her. She's the head cook and so she prepares the meals every day. People have the choice of eating here or not but if they don't that's fine we put away the leftovers and we have a pretty accurate number by now of who eats here and who doesn't and we make a little extra just in case somebody changes their mind.
Sophie is pretty tall and slender with big boobs that you would think are fake due to her frame. I stare at her chest slowing down a bit before following Samuel. She's in her forties and her husband is our resident mechanic. A damn good one. Maybe I hired her to stare at the rack or because she makes good food, no one knows. She also has a really nice personality but that doesn't count. No one looks for personality anymore.
I roll over to Sammy who is making two cups of coffee and he glances to see if Sophie is out of range. She dips her head and heads around the back. As soon as her brown hair has disappeared out of sight he turns to glare at me.
"You need help." he grumbles, trying to give his stern and disappointed look.
I look at him faking confused but he's not buying it. He knows me too well, I know him too well.
"Have you seen her rack? And they look like they stand up on their own for her age."
"You seriously need help. Are you sixteen?"
"I know you look at those racks too. You just try to be more gentlemanly about it." I respond, defending my perverted ways.
"You have a boob problem Zion. You need help. Stop staring at the man's wife rack. It's weird plus you know how possessive we are. What if he replaces out you're here looking at his wife everyday?"
"Well, he obviously doesn't know because she hasn't told him which means she likes the attention or she feels sorry for the poor guy in the wheelchair. He can't be jealous of a guy in a wheelchair". I point to the chair to get sympathy points but it doesn't work. If it was Daniel it would work but Sammy here treats me as normal as he does anyone else and therefore I get no sympathy points.
"You've been milking this wheelchair thing since we were eight. If he comes here to break your ass before you can get an Alpha command out or push your alpha weight I'm not saving you and I'm saving the recording on the in house cameras for a movie night." I roll my eyes and ignore him. I know he looks at them too. The back screen door opens as we pile food on a plate and in comes none other than Daniel wiping his boots on the large mat and taking off his heavy black coat to reveal a thick green sweater that I know his wife probably told him to wear because it matches his eyes. It's been raining for the past few days and the outside looks like my soul. Dreary.
"Great now we have the powerpuff girls together!" I shout.
Samuel laughs and Daniel pulls up to make a cup of coffee.
"It is raining hell out there." he shakes a few droplets of water out of his hair as his green eyes shine.
"Yeah." I agree with him and place my plate on the table to slice into the soft scrambled eggs and toast piling it.
"Daniel we're having a serious discussion here that we need help with and since you're more level headed we decided to let you be the breakeven. This is serious pack business and I expect your utmost honesty and good critical thinking skills."
I hear Samuel grunt behind me and hope he keeps his trap shut. Daniel nods and looks at both of us and Samuel smiles knowing where this is going. Daniel always fall for it. In his defense he's a bit soft when it comes to me so he doesn't really overthink any thing when it comes to me. I used to hate it but now I don't mind it. I know it comes from a good place.
"What?" He took the bait sipping his black coffee as he heads over to us.
"Does Sophia not have a damn good rack especially for her age?"
I know I hear him choke a bit and huff before sitting beside me.
"The last time I said something about a woman you exaggerated it and went and ran your damn mouth off and Lisa gave me hell. So no, I'm not joining this discussion or giving an opinion."
"So you do think she has a nice rack as well." I try to coerce him in.
"The only rack I look at is my wife's." he says nervously.
Our laughter fills the dining hall as we remember how pissed off Lisa was. I know I was treading the line but it was funny as hell.
"Okay I won't add you to it"
Daniel found his mate four years ago and since then he has been living in marital bliss. He has no children yet and I don't ask. We normally start popping off kids the minute we replace our mate unless there is a fertility issue. He's always wanted children and I know they are probably having issues so I don't want to be insensitive and ask why no kids. If he says something, fine but if he doesn't it's fine as well. I also have a soft spot for Lisa as well. Yeah I give her hell and she has a big mouth but I know it must bother her especially with how we are with having our own little families and all. My mouth is suddenly stuffed as we go through all that is happening and the day to day mishaps. Everything so far has been running smoothly.
Daniel squares his shoulders and looks at both of us and we look at him expectantly. We all share the same green eyes except instead of jet black hair I have sandy brownish- blonde hair. We all share the same build but I'm bigger and a few inches taller sitting down. I used to hate the idea of working out because I thought it looked ridiculous to work out for a role I never will be physically involved in. They would do all that work and all my fat ass would do is show up. I just wanted to get fat and roll around. But it finally chipped in when I realized it greatly helped me to be healthier. I am more focused, feel better and I can wheel my chair around more efficiently. Plus I win all the arm wrestling contests. I also wanted to see how my body would look if I was actually whole and fully functioning. If I was normal. If I wasn't so broken.
"I got a call early this morning in the office. The royals are coming next week, the day after tomorrow to be exact," he chips in. Why can't he just say next week Thursday? Isn't it easier to say next week Thursday than the day after tomorrow next week? "Why?" I ask, clearly annoyed.
"I have no idea but we do have the biggest and most successful pack in America so maybe that counts for something."
"I hate when they come here. I'm really not in the mood to grovel or entertain."
"You've never groveled or entertained." they both say in unison.
I try to be nice but I really don't have the patience or care for the hysterics when it comes to the royals as other werewolves do.
"Well, I'm going to need them to start saying what they want or their purpose when they are coming to visit us just like everybody else. This isn't a damn hotel or vacation resort." I complain. My voice rises an octave in my frustration and I can see them struggling with the alpha waves rolling off of me. They both look at me and I know what's coming.
"Look Zion I know you're pretty ruthless as they come but please don't say that to them or make a big deal out of this." he slaps his large hand against the table rattling the forks to try and add effect to his words "They could wipe us out for disrespect or do some brutal s**t. Just nod and smile and hear them out until they leave. Think of the safety and well being of the people plus everything has been going smoothly. The last thing we want is to piss off the Lycans."
He is right. He's always right. I just can't help the nagging feeling to let them know I don't approve of being given so short a notice and without any reason even though they don't need any. The past few times they have been here they've been okay. Full of themselves and their importance, barely tolerable but they were okay.
"The entire family I think, well I'm not quite sure is coming this time so let's welcome them and all until they go home."
The Revieres give an unsettling feeling.
