Kiarra

"I had a dream, Castor."

The dark haired girl shared with her good friend. Castor has been with her since she was a child and she loved him like a brother though he didn't share the same sentiments with the beauty in front of him. He moved closer to her as they walked through the field taking in the scenery and watching the endless sky lined with white clouds strolling through the English country side. He always felt like ever since he knew her his heart belonged to her and he always wished for her to be his mate with all his heart. "What did you dream of?" he asked, stopping and placing a hand on her hip for her to stop her as well so he could look into her brown eyes with flecks of gold and feel his heart race.

"I keep dreaming of a cliff with quite a large wolf sitting at its edge staring out into the darkness or the void below." Her brows furrowed and she was deep in concentration trying to sift through the dream to see what else she could pick up of importance. "Maybe it is your wolf you are dreaming of?" he suggests. His perfectly styled blonde hair shining yellow in the sun.

"No, it doesn't feel like it. It's like it's waiting, just sitting there looking out, its sad and lonely. I don't know like it always looks defeated or feels defeated." she says, frustration heavy in her tone as she tries to explain to him the dream that she doesn't seem to be able to fully understand and its purpose. Her eyes searched his, hoping he could give her the answer she couldn't seem to replace.

"This is interesting, and I hope it's not your wolf you are seeing if you are anything it is not defeated Kiarra." his gaze was intense on her.

She granted him one of her rare smiles and her dimples shone through. His heart picked up its pace and he could feel his adrenaline rushing through him.

"I don't think so. I wonder if it's someone I'm supposed to come across or him" she tried to explain, not noticing the man in front of her trying to school his expression from showing his disappointment. He knows what she means by him. She's talking about her mate.

"It was just a dream Kiarra. Maybe that's all it was." he shrugged hoping it was as well, hoping maybe she would let it go.

"It didn't feel like it. It felt important, like something of great value. I don't know how to explain it and I know I probably sound stupid."

"No, you don't. C'mon." he gently held her shoulders and stared at her with his twinkling blue eyes that looked a lighter blue in the bright rays of the sun.

"If it is something important, I'm sure you will replace your way to it. If it is him I'm sure he will replace you." he assures her rubbing his thumb against the fabric on her shoulder.

"That's the thing it feels like he isn't looking. Like he's given up and maybe a part of him is waiting. I don't know it's all so confusing to me. Maybe it's just a dream and I'm overthinking, but it feels so real and important." Kiarra scrunches up her face trying to read through her dream and she finally releases a sigh shaking her head and turning her palms upwards in defeat.

"Did you manage to even get a look at his wolf and its eyes?" Castor gently prods.

"As for his eyes and face, I don't know what he looks like."

"What do you mean?"

"He never turns around or moves. He's always sitting looking out and it's always night, pitch black with barely any moonlight so I can't tell exactly what color he is but I'm guessing dark brown." she says hopefully. "This is indeed a puzzle. It will come to light in due time. Don't worry over it, Kiarra."

Castor had brought her out for a walk to discuss something important with her and now that she is here talking about her mate he was not exactly sure how to discuss it if he even should at all. He didn't want to anger or upset her and as she is known to be headstrong he needs to approach this properly. If it isn't something, she wants she will not move.

They walked for a while trying to put some space between what they were discussing and what he truly wanted to ask her.

She was wearing a knee length floral dress her long legs on display, her long brown hair was done half up and the rest cascaded down her back meeting her hips. She was always much taller than most girls and she was slender catching him at his shoulder. In reality, she looked like a model except she had more thighs, butt and cleavage than what men would consider the slim figures posted in magazines but this did nothing more than enhance the beauty before him. Her golden skin and soft freckles captivating. "Kiarra, we need to talk." Castor is trying to wade through carefully, watching her closely.

She looks up at him with a concerned expression and it warms his heart that she is immediately concerned for him. He takes it as a sign that hopefully, this will go well after all.

He gently guides her to sit on one of the boulders rooted outside the edge of the large Reviere forest that spans for miles. Her long legs stretch out before her and he guides his eyes from the thick thighs before him to her face shifting sideways to look at her. "Your father has been concerned that you are not yet married." He goes straight to the point not wanting to waste any time.

He raises his hand pleading with her to give him a chance when she goes to speak and he can see her face scrunching up in annoyance at the sore topic.

"He has opened invitations for your hand in marriage as he believes you are passing the age where a woman should be married well, a princess should be married. Your time is up princess." he softly tells her releasing a long sigh and waiting for the hell he knows she will give him.

"I am not marrying until I replace my mate. I have made myself clear!" she stands in indignation.

"Kiarra, you may never come across your mate as he might be dead. You have to marry the best suitable man and move on."

She of course scoffs at this. "I will replace him Castor, or he will replace me. I'm not stupid, and I would have felt it if he had died. I know I will replace him and he's out there."

"Let's be realistic here you can have love and be happy. Move on and give up. He is obviously not Lycan and if he's a regular wolf he isn't coming to replace you nor can you seem to replace him. You cannot wait around forever. You've been waiting for him for years now!" "Castor, I will not marry anyone else who isn't my mate and my word is final. It is my life." she shut him down quickly and he knew this was going to happen.

"Am I not suitable to be yours?" his voice comes out cracked and tired.

She looks at him and her eyes widen caught totally off guard. Couldn't he possibly be asking?

"Will you not have me, Kiarra?"

Kiarra stands stunned. She doesn't know how to navigate this conversation without leaving her friend hurt. "Castor. I-"

"Will you not have me?!" he shouts, his voice filled with passion, his eyes pleading with her.

At this moment everything is quiet and she can hear her heart beating and the intake of their breaths. She did the only thing she knew to do best in this situation. She ran. She ran until the wind drowned out his voice calling her name.
