His door opened and she walked in. He could never get enough of how her body moved, how she walked.

"I think we need to get a house and move in together. I've noticed that you have a few empty houses particularly one that's older and further into the woods that would be perfect."

Zion paused confused. Was she talking to him? She was staring at him with those beautiful hazel eyes and she was very serious, too serious. He was tempted to look behind him because he thought he was the only person in the room. Did he miss a step or memo or something? He finally got his mouth to work.

"Why are we getting a house and moving in together?" he asked her confused.

"Because we're mates"

Clearly he had missed a step.

"The pack house is nice and I love your bedroom but we can't live in it all the days of our lives so it would be nice to live in an actual home like a couple. Also we need to talk about children and other important things."

He froze looking at her, he definitely missed a step.

"That is what accepting mates do who are in a relationship and I'm not having children" he told her frankly.

Maybe being in his room was making her lose it. Kiarra had decided that while she was here they might as well live in an actual house together. She was tired of being away from him. She didn't understand why he didn't want children and they would need to produce an heir further down the line. She crossed her arms and looked at him evenly.

"Why not? Because the last time I checked it worked as a matter of fact quite a few females here can attest that it works so you should be able to have children."

Ouch.

She was grilling him like he was on the stand and he leaned forward on his elbows. This version of her was making him uneasy. He felt like there was no way he was going to win with this version of her. "Because I said I don't want any." his voice boomed at her, hoping it would end this conversation.

"That's not a good enough excuse. As a matter of fact nothing you have given me since I've been here has been a good enough excuse" her voice produced a jolt in him and he shockingly looked up at her.

"-"

"I'm not finished. There hasn't been a good enough excuse as to why you don't want to give this a try. I understand you're in a wheelchair and that it brings a lot with it but I don't care. I want you more than anything and if you do not want me then I will let you go. I'm not a doormat and I deserve at least a try.

"Wh-"

He'd almost said his fears out loud before he caught him self.

"It's because I want you why I can't accept you" he grumbled.

"It's not a good enough excuse. So you need to dig deeper and replace something that makes sense" she bit out and the room became tense. Her eyes flashed a orange gold and his huntress was becoming scary. Interesting.

"Just because you're not perfect doesn't mean you are unworthy of love or happiness. It is up to you to put in some effort and the greatest thing hindering this is that you're afraid. If you don't get it together Zion Cartier I will respect your wishes and reject you faster than lightning and move on to someone else."

His eyes widened at her words and he felt like he was being ripped apart. Why did felt like he had been hit by a great force and he was fighting to breathe? His wolf was tearing a part at the mention of someone else.

Her phone rang and she irritatedly dug into her pocket.

"Hello"

"I have some bad news."

She pried her eyes away from Zion who was listening and left the room.

"What happened?"

"Well it seems the wolf is out of the bag. Some way some how it has left the palace walls that the lycan King's daughter is missing and on a quest to replace her fated mate."

Kiarra closed her eyes. This is not what she needed right now.

"It has started to create hysteria among wolves everywhere. It does not look good Kiarra. Publicly defying who the king has chosen for you plus the council's suggestion is not transcending well. Please come home. " Vivienne sounded stressed.

"

They can choose all they want and I will refuse them all but ultimately the choice is mine." Kiarra poisedly leaned back against the opposite wall, her voice calm. " No one can choose this but me, for me. The last I checked I was to be queen and therefore they answer to me."

"

They answer to the beast kingdom." Vivienne replied.

"Same difference." she said irritatedly.

"Well the anticipation of your chosen mate is very high. Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

Kiarra hung up the phone and headed back. She walked back to the office to replace Samuel there and she focused on him. Zion was staring at her willing her to look his direction but she wouldn't meet his green eyes.

"Might as well tell you all since the news is out. The missing Lycan is the King's daughter. Apparently she's on a quest to replace her fated mate."

"What?" Samuel looked at his brother "Wow. No wonder it's been so hush hush. Everybody is going to be on high alert to see a princess. Well, the moon goddess helps whoever has to face Arthur Reviere and the council as his daughter's mate." Zion was unnaturally quiet staring at her but she ignored him. Samuel dropped his large lumbering frame on the couch not picking up on the tension in the room.

"You know it doesn't sound so bad. The chance to be the most powerful beast and they say his daughter is something to see. You wouldn't want to be king?" he directed to his brother who was still staring at her despite his brother talking to him. "No and nothing could ever convince me to. It would be a nightmare."

Kiarra turned and decided to leave the room.

"Anastasia" Zion called after her but she didn't stop not even when called after again and his voice cracked with panic.

"Anastasia!"
