Samuel didn't know what to do. He had called Daniel and not even Daniel knew what to do. He was scared. He knew if Kiarra mated to another Zion wouldn't survive it. He couldn't live without her. Life would end for him. He looked broken when the news took hold of him.

He'd never in his life seen Zion broken until now; wrecked but not broken. It was a rare sight to see him like this. His brother was typically the one nothing fazed and he didn't show his emotions much when things happened, but when it came to Kiarra he clearly felt and showed everything. It has been two hours since he had told him the news and Zion was in his room by himself. Samuel had called for food but he hadn't touched it. There wasn't anything anybody could do. He just had to wait it out and see but he was tired of waiting. Samuel had enough and went and knocked on the door. It was quiet just like it had been for the past few hours. He pushed open the door to see Zion just sitting there staring out over the city's skyline.

He hesitated, not knowing if he should leave him be for a while longer or say something but he went for the latter. He crouched before him and stared out at the cloudy skyline too flexing his muscles. The muscles in Zion's jaw flexed before his eyes fell on Samuel.

"I'm going to get her back. Until she has a mark on her neck there's still a chance for us."

Samuel nodded. He expected nothing less.

"I'll follow you to the very end." he replied. He meant it and he was glad Zion didn't argue about it." Since you're finally talking I'm surprised you haven't reached the gates already with hellfire screaming your head off."

Zion ran a hand over his beard that had grown considerably.

"I was going to do that."

Samuel laughed, shaking his head.

"How are we going to get in or rather get to her?"

"I don't know but I'll definitely figure it out by tomorrow. I can still feel her and she feels fine so far."

He knew that was barely if any any relief for him at all but he was glad to still feel a connection to her.

"What if she doesn't take you back?" Samuel asked.

"She will. I know she will." he replied confidently.

"Okay. Well if you're going to do all of that then you need to eat and get yourself together."

Samuel stood up. "What about her father? He's not going to let you have much less leave with his daughter even if she agrees to mate with you."

Zion tapped the chair and didn't answer him or rather he didn't have an answer to that one. Of course he had thought about that but he didn't want to look at the bigger picture, not right now. He just needed to get her back first so that Castor or whoever else didn't sink their teeth into her neck.

"There is a mating ceremony. She didn't lie about that. It isn't for Lycans, it's just for royals. If I had only let her explain."

Samuel didn't know what to say so he simply nodded before leaving. If you have nothing good to say, then don't say it and his brother had enough going on right now for him to add his criticisms.

Zion headed to shower so they could prepare for what lay ahead if they ever could. There had to be a way inside the palace. Either that or she would come out? She was preparing for a ceremony but then again she was more than likely to have people get whatever she needed. She was a princess.

They stayed up all night trying to figure it out but they were at a loss. Zion had thought of every connection he had and any string he could pull to get in there. The invited prospective mates were all powerful Lycans along with their families. They were outside of their world. They woke up in the late afternoon still silently mulling over it. He was irritated not to mention frustrated and he could feel himself losing control. He should have found a way by now and seen her by this.

He was prepared at this point to head to the gates and demand to be let in. A loud knock sounded at the door and they both tensed staring at the door. He exchanged a wary look with Samuel who was just as on the wadge as he was. Nobody knew where they were in London. So who the hell could be at their door?

They hadn't ordered room service and had asked for their suite not to be disturbed. Being on the alert Samuel looked at Zion before rising his large frame to head to the door making sure to be ready in case there was an attack of some sort. They had even been extra careful by making sure they didn't use their names to register at the front desk.

Another loud knock sounded and Samuel looked through the peephole before looking back at Zion.

"Shit"

He mouthed lycans to his brother and was unsure whether to open the door. Zion nodded and gave him the silent go ahead for him to open it and he pulled the door open to reveal two large Lycans. They forcefully brushed past Samuel as if it was nothing walking in dressed in their black suits. Two others remained in the hallway as guards while the other two approached Zion with disinterested eyes barely scanning the room.

They were clearly here for one person alone. Samuel hurried over for whatever was about to happen. Zion on the other hand wondered if this was how he was going to die.

The large blonde Lycan stopped with his face hard and reached inside his jacket. Samuel extended his claws. There was no way on earth they would win but he wasn't going down without a fight. The blonde Lycan rolled his eyes and withdrew an envelope before speaking. "Alpha Zion Cartier on behalf of his great majesty King Arthur Reviere you are invited to the mating ball of his daughter, her divine grace, Princess Kiarra in the next two days."

Did they just hear right? Zion stared wide eyed at Samuel who looked back at him shocked with his mouth wide open. This was beyond totally unexpected and Zion reached out to take the envelope that contained the gold plated skillfully designed royal card. He didn't know what to respond and luckily the Lycans weren't waiting for a response either as they exited as fast as they came in, leaving them there confused.

"Did royal guards just give us an invite to her mating ball?" Samuel pointed in the direction of the door.

Zion surveyed the card. The King obviously knew he was there and all that was going on. He was beyond puzzled.

"Why would he invite you? Wouldn't that be what he doesn't want?"

Zion flipped the card over, running his fingers along the raised letters.

"Why would he want you there? This could be a setup."

"I don't know but we have to go. We wanted a way in to see her and now we have a way to see her."

"It just feels too easy." Samuel looked at the card.

It did feel too easy and Zion didn't like that. Why on earth would the king send him an invitation?

They both stared at the door that was left open and Samuel went over to close it. Zion was focused twirling around in his hand his golden ticket. Samuel took it from him unbelievably and they both stared at each other in silence. "We're going to have to get suits and you're going to have to dress up.
