The Princess’s Broken Alpha -
Chapter 56
Indigo Bellatreaux
Indigo heard the familiar humming heading her way and her stomach pinched tight. The confident heavy steps were approaching the room closer and closer. These days it was a constant before he came. He was humming a happy tune filling her cold surroundings with a melody she was familiar with. He was humming Sugar Pie Honey Bunch. The crazy bastard. He had her caged up like an animal.
She leaned herself against the cold damp wall. The skin had been eaten away at her wrists leaving them raw and bloody and she was skin and bones at this point. She fought to breathe against the terrible ache in her ribs gathering as much breath as she could and saving up her strength. She smelled terrible and knew she looked like she was on the verge of death too.
How long could she last in this hole? She had never been much of a believer in the moon goddess but she found herself even praying to her for help these days. She had been trying to use all the strength she had to put out the sage so she could escape. Once it was out she could regain her strength bit by bit and then replace a way out. But unfortunately no matter how much she focused and tried she couldn't. She was powerless and weak. The plan she had in her head was flawless. She had even envisioned how when she escaped and got herself together how she would exact her vengeance over ten folds on him.
Castor finally walked through the doorway into view with his blue eyes glinting and Indigo glared at him. Whatever made him so happy? It made her even more angry that he was so smug and in good spirits.
"Indy I'm home" his deep voice called snarkily and he placed the coffee he had in his hand and a paper bag with food down. Stop reading the wrong and incomplete storyline, j o bnib.com has the correct and complete book. balled her fists tight and picked a spot on the floor to concentrate on. He wasn't worth her using her energy to look up at. He looked like an angel but he was so evil inside.
"There's so much for us to catch up on."
"Go away" she mumbled tiredly.
"Now Indy I brought you some food. That should make you feel a little bit better."
She wanted to cut out his tongue and her fiery eyes stared daggers at him.
"There we go."
He took out the sandwich and handed it to her with the coffee and she inspected it suspiciously, grimacing at him. Castor smiled at this but his smiles held no warmth. "The food is safe. I'm not going to kill you. You're my most valuable asset right now."
Here he goes again with whatever he was coming up with. Indigo tried to balance the sandwich with some difficulty between her fingers due to the chains before putting it to her lips and scarfing it down. She waited for whatever manical plan he had in mind. She was so tired of him and her hatred for him made her want to cry because there was nothing else she could do.
He handed her the coffee and she welcomed the warm liquid burning a scorching trail down her dry throat. Her throat felt like it was on fire. The sage felt like it had eroded her insides but thankfully she was part werewolf and would heal. Castor patiently waited for her to finish and she didn't like it. She made sure to watch him carefully as she downed the coffee. It tasted like heaven with what she has been through recently. He watched while she drank the last of it. She looked at the watch on his hand and read the time.
"What do you want?" she flung the cup and paper bag at his feet. She was tired of games and needed him to get straight to it.
"I never got to tell you that your little secret is out in the open. They're raising pitchforks for you as we speak for your attempted heinous crime against the Lycan kingdom's beloved."
"What?" she whispered though she knew what he was referring to. The sick bastard.
"The wolf chaining. You are the perfect scapegoat. I blamed it all on you and will continue to do so. I heard your father was ready to pass out when everyone learned you were the one causing trouble. Now the king is not only looking at the hybrids but the witches." All in all she was a dead witch even if she made it out. Who would believe her?
"My father?" she questioned, hoping he was playing a game with her to see if it was true.
"Yes Kladimir. No wonder you are a mystery. You are Kladimir's spawn. It makes sense now with your level of powers but the question is why are you estranged? And what's your story? He supposedly looked like they had mentioned a ghost in there." "What do you want?!" Indigo barked out, breathing heavy. She was pushing the dark feelings down. She never wanted to hear his wretched name.
"You are both so alike" Castor replied calmly.
"We are nothing similar you psychopath!" she shouted and Castor's eyes flashed with the colour of his wolf. Indigo shrunk back and stared at the dirt floor.
"Now I not only have a scapegoat but I have leverage to use against the witches that is if he deems you important and I'm sure he does based on his reaction. You become more and more valuable as the day goes on."
Indigo could feel the tears sting the corner of her eyes. She looked at his shoulder to see that it was still bare. He wasn't marked yet.
"My father will give you nothing." she said matter of factly.
"We shall see"
She knew he wanted something and she couldn't let him have it. She wouldn't let him hurt anyone else using her. Her previous teacher years ago would have been disappointed in her. She focused hard on the burning sage using all she had while he was talking hoping it would go out but still nothing. She had to replace a way out now. When she had all but given up she saw the spiraling dark shape of smoke fade out; it went out. It was a miracle. She tried not to show any change as the air got clearer, pretending to be listening to him.
It was time. You have gone through this a million times in your head Indigo she tried to coach herself. She could taste her escape on the tip of her tongue. Her adrenaline was pumping and she tried to steady her heartbeat. He would probably think it was fear anyways. She was so weak she wondered if she could somehow pull it off. She had to escape his evil hands. He was still busy chatting he didn't even notice. Indigo could feel her powers increase as the time went by but it still wasn't enough to ensure her safety. It
was now or never.
She didn't hesitate and struck at once using all the power she had. It wouldn't last long; only a few mere seconds and worse it would last less than that because he was Lycan. "Claudua" she whispered.
Castor fell to the ground in a crippled mess. She quickly summoned enough powers to break the shackles but she was so weak despite even eating. She was in such a poor state and had difficulty standing up because she had no exercise for such a long while. "Claudua!" she whispered frantically when she saw him shake it off.
She struggled to move but toppled twice tearing the skin at her knees. The spells took a toll on the small amount of energy she had left. Her legs were so weak but she had to push through. She ran as fast as she could down the damp walkway and everything ached. She saw the outline down the passage. The door was so close.
"Indigo!" she heard him shout and she almost fell from fear.
Her heart was thrumming and she felt dizzy as she powered with all she had. Indigo could see the door and she cried being so close as she ran.
