The Princess’s Broken Alpha -
Chapter 58
"Okay, what do you think of this one? Or should I go with the dark grey instead?" Samuel stood in the black suit impatiently waiting for Zion's answer. Zion pinched the bridge of his nose and counted to five because he wasn't going to make it to ten. The red- headed store assistant nodded enthusiastically but it wasn't the suit she was loving clearly. "No" Zion sounded out without any hesitation and Samuel frowned, running his hand down the expensive suit.
"What's wrong with it?"
"You look like an over sized teddy bear. I think it's the bow tie. Maybe lose the bow tie?" he snapped.
"But if I wear a regular tie then I'll look like a body guard." Samuel argued.
"Aren't you technically?"
Samuel glared at Zion. He took off the bow tie and replaced it with a regular tie. He did look better. The store assistant named Suzy praised him before she walked off leaving them alone and Samuel shook his head in approval. "I do look better." Samuel flexed his arms a few times and paced. The suit fitted like a glove over his physique.
"You know you're starting to behave like it's your mating ceremony" Zion barked at Samuel. He was ready to leave the store but Samuel was examining himself on the stand like he'd never worn a fucking suit before in his entire damn life. "Aren't you going to try yours on?"
"I think I'll manage."
"You know this is practically a who looks the best in suits competition. You can at least try to win this one or come in a close second behind me. Women do be checking us out and they like a man in a suit. At least get an edge on the scoring board." "This isn't the Miss America pageant show" Zion clipped.
"Okay fine. If you insist you know your size and you're good."
"Can we go now princess?!"
Zion was already leaving and Samuel rolled his eyes.
"You are no fun to go shopping with."
Samuel handed Suzy his card for the suits and accessories who made sure to scribble her number on the back of his receipt. They stood on the sidewalk watching traffic unsure where to go next. They practically had everything. Zion just wanted tomorrow to come so he could drag her out of there.
"We have the outfits. Everything else is now dependent on you."
Zion nodded. It was freezing cold but besides that London wasn't seeing any snow. It was beautiful here. They stood there looking at their new surroundings.Stop reading the wrong and incomplete storyline, jo b nib.com has the correct and complete book. This was her life was all Zion thought. He would have loved it if she was there to tell him all about it. "So have you thought about becoming king?" Samuel asked him out of the blue.
"I don't know about becoming king. Being an alpha was a hurdle in itself being king is another matter. They would never allow me in a wheelchair to take seat over them and I don't blame them."
"So how will it work then if you don't want to become king?"
This was another topic he was avoiding all together. He could address it and figure it out when he got her back in his arms.
"I never thought I'd amount to any thing much" Zion said truthfully squinting his eyes against the harsh wind picking up. "Thought I'd be hidden away somewhere in shame and die early. But then a year would come and I would keep on living. And I thought okay maybe there will be more to this but I expected nothing. I used to think maybe it was better I died. You guys wouldn't have to carry around your shame. Life would be much easier."
"It would be harder, trust me." Samuel cut in.
"Then the next thing I know I'm given Alpha. I didn't go looking for it but somehow responsibility and power unexpectedly came to me. I thought why not. I only have one life to live and maybe I'll get a couple of months in before the pack riots and replaces me with Daniel. But after awhile it was clear they were serious. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. For once I felt normal. It was a normal thing that happened to normal people. Most pack members didn't care." "You can have it all"
"No I can't. Let's not be naive Sammy." his breath was a big puff before him. "There's only so far I can go and so much I can do before this wheelchair catches up to me and being king of the entire kingdom is one of them." "There is no limit, you being king can be done."
Zion laughed dryly and looked down at the sidewalk before watching the traffic again and people.
"I'll have no crutch"
Samuel turned to him puzzled, his dark hair blowing on the wind as he tried to understand his statement.
"You and Daniel have provided a crutch"
"No we haven't. That's a poor excuse you're trying to replace. I can't imagine being in a wheelchair but you'll be a damn good king just as you are alpha. We've done what any other Beta and Delta would have done. Plus if anything you'll have her and she'll be better than Daniel and I put together. She will be by your side just as you will be by her side. If anything happens she will beat them up."
They both laughed thinking about her.
Zion breathed out a heavy breath. He didn't know about becoming king if by some miracle it got handed to him.
"She trained for years to become queen. You would ask her to throw that all away just to be with you? This is her role and duty. It's what she was destined for. It doesn't seem like it would be fair to ask her to." "Nobody is going to take me seriously."
"You don't know that. Plus we take you very seriously. A lot of people are practically terrified of you."
"You have too much faith in me." Zion lightly shoved him. They decided to head home as they talked about the hybrid war. They didn't quite know the details as they went back forth but they hoped it wouldn't become a problem.
