The Princess’s Broken Alpha -
Chapter 67
Though it was a room full of wolves and everyone was surprised, for Kiarra it was different. The earth shattering growl felt like it reached and struck something deep within her shattering at her core and she could feel the sensations running through her body. She took in a sharp breath when she turned around. She was dumbfounded. When her eyes saw the wheelchair she furrowed her brows in confusion. She didn't expect it to come from a regular wolf, she'd expected the room to be filled with Lycans. Yet he was a
werewolf and had clearly been invited.
His blazing green eyes were furious and he didn't for a moment take his eyes off of her. They were in a trance and for a moment it felt like they were in their own world. Her breathing accelerated from lack air and when Joseph reached forward to touch her she reflexively jumped back from him as if his hands would burn her. Joseph looked embarrassed and withdrew his hands to himself.
They received curious stares from everyone who was watching the exchange and there was an evident uproar happening around them. Everyone was whispering back and forth, but one thing was for certain. How dare he even think of not only interfering with the princess's ball but to even growl at her in such a manner. They were more than upset and everyone waited to see what she would do.
Zion didn't back down and some were starting to speculate that there might be more than what met the eye. Kiarra could feel her stomach tightening as everyone was trying to figure out the connection between her and the wolf in the wheelchair. She slowly sauntered over to him taking him in.
Zion watched her approach from the moving of her hips to the swaying of her dark hair. The crowd had parted to allow them space and it was just her and him. He looked incredibly handsome in his dark blue suit that complimented him well with his blonde hair. But what was magnificent was how enthralling his green eyes were. They were like a beacon calling out to her. She would never ever see green eyes that were captivating like his.
She had regained her composure as she approached him. She was back to her cool and confident demeanor. The guests were treating this as entertainment. When she arrived before him it was then that she saw his brother beside him.
King Arthur did nothing. He had raised his daughter to be able to take care of herself. She was a grown woman who didn't need for him to hold her hand every step of the way. He was more than confident she could fight her own battles. It was his daughter's time to display her strength. It was the perfect show case for the councils and the people in the room of what she was capable of if they had forgotten. There is nothing wrong with a little reminder every now and then. They would get a glimpse of what she would be like as their queen and how she would approach situations. As the queen of the beast kingdom you had to have a certain strength and character. They were wolves after all. It was in their nature to gravitate and follow after the powerful. If she decided to use the alpha as an example tonight would be completely up to her.
Everyone was trying to gage her reaction and what would happen next. They were relieved they had in no way associated themselves with him becuase then they might be on the receiving end of her wrath.
"How can a wolf in a wheelchair be jealous over the princess? Will he dance with her?" asked Lucas one of her suitors mockingly. All the guests burst into laughter and his large brother shifted his weight clearly annoyed by the jabs they were taking. The laughter grew hysterical and the atmosphere became uncomfortable for Kiarra.
Her jaw tensed and she released her aura. The entire room had no choice but to obey and everyone bared their neck to her in submission except her father of course. It was clear that she was on another level. The powerful Lycan princess placed her hand up as a warning.
"Silence" she said firmly and no one dared to let out a sound.
Zion and Samuel struggled heavily under the weight of her powers. For them it was even stronger, seeing as they were regular wolves. It was dominant and unyielding. Zion had never yet felt her strength. She'd never once used it on him or anyone around so he was surprised by the power in it. Samuel was hopeful that it being her she would somehow let them go alive. He was more than relieved that it wasn't King Arthur that was before them now and he couldn't even be pissed at Zion.
She immediately stopped and Zion's looked up at her. She was right before him and if he stretched out his hands he could touch her, claim her. The relief that flooded through him was unimaginable. He would never let her go again but the way her eyes were looking at him made him uneasy. They didn't look forgiving and her face was cold.
His anger poured into him when he remembered the Lycan touching her.
"Who are you?" Kiarra asked the werewolf in the wheelchair. His eyebrows went up and something flashed in his eyes before she could read it.
Zion must be fucking hearing wrong. He'd never in her life expect her to pull this card. She would never do this to him and here. She had every right to be upset with him but this was different. She was waiting for an answer as her hazel eyes held his.
"So it was good in private but not in public in front of your people?" Zion gutted out. There was a loud audible gasp at what he was insinuating. Everyone was now amazed. They didn't think the night would start out like this. Kiarra slanted her eyes at him, though she still looked composed and watched him from beneath her lashes. Zion felt it hit stronger this time and he bared his neck. He knew she was strong but not like this.
"You know Alpha, wolves have died for less."
