Jackson couldn't believe what unfolded before his eyes. He never thought he'd enjoy the night as much as he was. He half expected to come and spy out the place and leave with probably one of the suitor's sister or somebody's daughter when he headed home before he sorted out his business. But this was the most fun he had in a while. He almost felt sorry for the wolf. It's hard being rejected by your mate like that in a ball room full of people then again he should have known better that he was beneath her. He loved and thrived on chaos.

Alpha Zion had showed up which was surprising with his giant brother to try and get his cousin back but what surprised him was her denying ever knowing him. He'd left looking like a desperate crazy wolf and it was all everyone would be talking about for days of course secretly. It was satisfying to watch because he didn't like Zion. The rich and influential Lycans loved nothing more than a good gossip and this was more than gossip. Some were debating on whether or not he should have been put down and others were debating if he could even be classified as a real wolf more so a defected one. All in all they were turning up their noses at him.

However how could he forget the highlight. When it came to reprimands Vivienne was the one handing them out and seeing her speechless that was satisfactory for him.

He would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy seeing her face fall flat. Kiarra showed everyone a taste of her power and it had everyone riled up.

Castor had joined Kiarra declaring that he didn't know Zion. Of course he would. The suck up would do anything to get under her dress and the on King's seat so of course he would go with it. Many paragraphs are missing. Read the complete book on Jo-b n-lb.c (o) m. Jackson on the other hand would never have went with it. He would have said it was all true and watched everything erupt but he kept his cool and watched it from a far.

He would have felt like shit if a mate he loved did that to him in public. It was almost time. Kiarra had already danced with almost all her suitors and the ball was in full gear. Everyone was acting as if they weren't all about to witness a murder scene. For a second there he thought she would have given him a terrible lesson.

Jackson played it safe socializing and working his way to the near the exit, blending with the crowd before expertly slipping out.

He had serious business to attend to, he might as well get a headstart. Kyor had helped him when it came to the witch that had worked on the items he carried. The witch had covered its tracks well enough and Kyor wasn't powerful enough to uncover it. Jackson knew that was a lie and he also knew who could uncover it. The most Kyor gave was that the witch was extremely powerful. Jackson was doubtful that was all there was. He was lying and the answer to all this was that he was hiding Indigo Bellatreaux. He definitely knew her and was covering for her. Jackson just needed to replace out where. He started the car and headed out. To replace out where she was he would follow Kyor and that meant he had to wait until his restaurant closed. He was obsessed down to every detail with that damn restaurant that he didn't even leave until closing time. Castor parked the car and waited. He made sure to stay three stores down so as not to trigger whatever alarm he might have put up.

He might also be following Kyor for no reason but that wasn't possible. She was the missing piece to Castor's story and he needed to replace her fast

Jackson eased back the seat and watched under the bright lights from the shops and street the busy restaurant. Kyor's restaurant was never not full. He sat there for hours until everyone started to exit and La Guardia closed its doors. He sat up keeping a close eye on the place.

He was irritated when he had to wait another hour before Kyor exited. His tall lanky frame checked the front twice before he jumped in his car and drove out.

Kyor drove a very expensive bright range rover. Talk about standing out. He made sure their were cars in between them and he followed behind. They drove past the bright busy shopping center and the rich apartment complexes.

He continued following him until they had left the city and were now heading into rural side. He couldn't possibly drive that far for work. Jackson looked around at the neighborhood and kept following.

He was now travelling on the outskirts of town and the car headed past the Winsborough forest. He was now only a car behind Kyor with one following and if they continued he would probably be the only one on the road with him and he couldn't risk it. Jackson took a deep turn and he felt like he only blinked and the car disappeared. What the hell?!

He slammed on the brakes hard and pulled over to the side of the road receiving a blare from the car behind him. He looked into the deep thick forest and there was nothing. No trails on the road, no one behind him. He was alone on the side of the road and he could hear the quiet of the forest. The only thing he heard was the sound of crickets. He leaned on the car, letting out a frustrated sigh and looked around. Where the hell did the witch go?

Jackson closed the car door and pulled out his keys to venture into the forest a bit just to make sure. He looked on both sides but there still wasn't any hint of the witch nor his car. He was walking back to his car when he heard the crunching of leaves behind him. He heard a dog's whistle and he looked around to see Kyor.

"Come here boy!"

Where the hell did he come from?

"You son of a bitch!" Jackson let out.

And then everything went black.
