The Princess’s Broken Alpha -
Chapter 83
He didn't have much time and the chances of him pulling this off without her replaceing out was slim. Very slim. Even more so because she was sprawled halfway on top of him and was very alert. Right now, wild strands of her hair were strewn over him, tickling his face. He had to get up to get started early so he could surprise her. It was still dark out in the early morning and they should almost be here at any minute. Zion shifted away from her, lifting her arm to move her but she only closed the small distance between them by wrapping her arm around him even tighter and releasing a deep sigh in her sleep that he chalked up as probably irritation.
He tried again but this time he whispered to her that he was going to use the bathroom. Hoping she was so deep in sleep and worn out from yesterday that she wouldn't wake up after he didn't return past a certain amount of time.
He turned on the lights in the bathroom and closed the door so in case she woke up she would think he was in there. The completely dark room would tell her that something was off.
He quietly shut the room door behind him and began to set things in place. Samuel and the others finally arrived and they got to work as quietly and fast as they could. The beauty was that their bedroom was soundproof. The only problem was how long it was before she noticed he was missing.
They did everything in an impressive twenty minutes and he finally headed back to bed to join her. He hoped she liked it. He stayed awake for the remainder of the time watching her sleep. It still felt surreal that she was there, that she had come back with him. She was fighting the entire world just for him. He traced the scar on her temple as his thoughts wandered to something else he had to do.
Kiarra woke up to his fingers leaving tingles across her face. He was the first thing she saw when she woke up and went to sleep. After an intense making out she went and did her regular morning routine. She had felt much better since telling Zion everything. The moment she headed out the room to head to the kitchen she shrieked.
"Oh my gosh!" she shouted in shock.
She ran back to the room where Zion was heading behind her.
"When did you do this?!" she couldn't believe it. Her eyes were taking in everything. Zion thought she looked cute with her hair in a bun and her legs sticking out from his oversized t-shirt. "This morning."
Kiarra looked at him puzzled and he started from the beginning.
"Well Samuel informed me that someone was determined to spend Christmas with me at all costs so I thought why not?"
Kiarra brushed the loose strands of hair back from her face as she took in everything in amazement. There was soft fake snow covering the entire living room, which was fully decorated with Christmas decor and lights. It was beautiful. There was also a decorated tree with presents underneath it and their names carved into a few ornaments she could see. To the right of her, the island was loaded with different Christmas foods from various Christmas cookies to turkey with cranberry sauce, egg nog drink and pie. It smelled divine. The fireplace had a small little fire that was burning slowly and thankfully it was still chilly outside.
To top it off there was a cheesy Christmas movie playing on the television.Christmas music was softly playing throughout the entire house and her eyes misted up. She couldn't believe he had put this together.
She smiled when her eyes caught the mistletoe he was under. Kiarra wasted no time jumping on him and kissing him hard. She didn't think she could love him any more. She felt his tongue brush against her bottom lip and she let him in, his tongue massaging hers in a toe curling kiss that left her dizzy. He finally pulled away with his chest barely rising and falling while she was panting in deep short breaths like she had run a marathon. His kisses made her wonder how she had survived without them. "Merry Christmas." he said, his voice raspy and she could feel his chest vibrate.
"Thank you." Kiarra beamed.
She slipped her arms around his torso.
His hands ran from her thighs to cup her ass pulling her up closer against his hard profile and she gasped holding on to his shoulder. She could feel him smiling against her skin as he ran his lips against her neck getting a shudder out of her. "So Christmas isn't Christmas without an ugly Christmas sweater and matching hats."
He eased back and slipped the folded clothes off the side of the couch, helping her to slip hers over her head and then putting his on.
The bright red and white sweaters were at least cozy.
"How did you plan this?" Kiarra asked him still astounded, shaking her head in disbelief.
"I asked Lisa for help before we boarded the plane and my mom of course insisted on making all the food."
"You planned this before I arrived?" she perked up.
"Yes," he replied.
It warmed her heart that they would do all of this for her. The door knocked and Samuel walked in without waiting dressed like Santa Claus. She would recognize the big broody Delta under any suit. She did a little cheering scream and he huffed in annoyance. "Sammy is that you?!" Kiarra asked covering her mouth.
She was hysterical with laughter. Even behind the suit she could see his scowl and stiffness.
"Ho, ho, ho"
He placed a bag with what seemed to be more presents beside the pile on the ground beside the tree before leaving.
"I'm done." he grumbled before leaving.
"How on Earth did you get him to agree?" Kiarra spun on Zion.
"Believe it or not, he didn't just go to London because of me.You did wear him down."
Kiarra couldn't get the image of him in the suit out of her mind.
"Okay Princess. So we have the first present that you will open which will be mine of course. Then breakfast and then you can open the others."
He handed her the small gold box and she looked questioningly up at him. She eagerly opened it and her eyes went wide with her mouth forming a surprised o.
"I had to make adjustments to the name but I hope you like it." He swept her hair to the side to help her put it on.
"It's so beautiful. I love it"
She ran her fingers along it. It was an exact copy of the chain he wore around his neck except with the words Kiarra. Kiarra played with it in her hands mesmerized by the shiny reflective gold. "You could have left it. My middle name is Anastasia," she said softly.
"It's okay."
Kiarra reached up and fingered the one around his neck studying it and he raised his eyebrows at her.
"Let's swap." she decided.
Zion laughed.
"You want to brand me? Aren't you being a little too possessive?" he quipped.
"Nobody sees it anyway and yes." she said boldly.
He removed his chain and swapped it with hers and she made sure to place his on the outside to showcase his name proudly.
"It looks good on you." he tugged at it. "I guess until I put my mark on your neck. This will have to do."
"And you call me possessive."
"I never denied it. I am very possessive of you and I hope you know that." he then leaned into her, kissing her, his mouth firm, staking his claim. She felt the ever present butterflies in her stomach again.
They had breakfast from the wide array of food his mother made. She made it her mission to try at least a bit of everything throughout the day at least. Zion on the other hand teased her endlessly about it but she more than appreciated the effort and if his mother asked about one particular item she didn't want her to feel too disappointed by not even tasting it. Naomi seemed the type to ask how every single item was.
She opened the rest of the presents right away that she had received for Christmas while they were gone from pack members and his family. The last one that Zion for whatever reason insisted she open last had just a smiley face with a note on it.
I hope you love it!
She knew the handwriting to be Lisa's. She had already opened a gift from her already so she was skeptical as to what her second gift could be? Inside the wrapper was a stunning silky red dress. It was simple but sexy with thin spaghetti straps. It made a show of the back and had a decent split at the side.
"This is what you'll wear for our date tonight."
"Date?"
"Mhmm" he answered kissing her neck.
"Finally" she muttered and he laughed at her enthusiasm.
She fingered the dress some more. Kiarra laughed and he wanted know what was funny.
"At the cafe in London you looked like you were having a stroke when I said I went on dates with guys when I escaped my body guards. But you couldn't lose it because you thought I'd run off on you."
"That's not funny." he gutted out.
"Yes it is." she replied laughing.
"It's interesting to know you found my pain amusing." he replied with an authoritative tone.
"Just so you can sleep tonight I didn't go on dates."
He tried to play it off but there was a heavy tension or rather anxiety from his wolf to mark her. It had been through enough already and it needed the safety and assurance of its mark on her neck. He knew she loved him but he just didn't want to be overbearing by bringing it up now. Instead, he breathed in the scent of her hair. Kiarra placed the dress against her body and smiled examining it against her form.
Zion didn't know if she liked it or she not and was just trying to be polite to not hurt his feelings.
"I don't know that much when it comes to women's dresses so I asked Lisa and Julie to pick it out. If you don't like it we could always go shopping for another one. I'll be fine with that."
Kiarra's smile brightened at his uncertainty.
"Zion, the dress is gorgeous, I love it, it's perfect."
For the rest of the day they spent it watching Christmas movies as she stuffed her face. They'd swap stories about what they did for Christmases prior and the day was amazing so far. When it arrived around six they got ready for their reservation at eight. Zion was mum on where he was taking her.
Kiarra pinned her hair up in a bun with a few loose strands falling down to match the dress she was wearing. The red was striking against her skin and she applied minimal makeup with a matching vivid red lipstick to her lips that Lisa had stuffed in the bag the dress came in.
The red dress showed a little more boobs than she was used to and a lot of back but she was fine with it. It made her look daring tonight and she liked that.
It was seven thirty already and they needed to leave so she headed out of the room to meet Zion. He looked very handsome in a black tuxedo and his eyes went wide before they travelled up her body, stopping and staying on her chest. He was very quiet as if replaceing words to compliment her and she liked that from him.
"My eyes are up here." she pointed out with a seductive smile and he looked flustered which she liked.
"I'm in a wheelchair."
"Uh huh"
"You look amazing." he handed her roses and she smelled them. She thanked him and gushed over how good he looked in a suit not able to keep her hands to herself.
She didn't know what to expect from this date as she anxiously studied every turn his vehicle made to guess where they were going. She tried to get a hint but he wouldn't crack.
They arrived at a fancy restaurant near the water front. A cool breeze picked up and she marveled at the luxurious set up. They would be provided all their meals on a small boat that would float on the lake. The part that was remarkable was that the lake glowed a brilliant blue in the night. Kiarra was enthralled.
"It's the algae in the water." Zion told her.
There was a sign that strictly said no swimming or touching the water and they were soon aboard. They had dinner under the night sky with the stars above them and though there were other random boats floating as well it felt like they were the only ones out there. It felt like they were the only two people in the world. Kiarra cozied up to him when they were finished and they just watched the stars. It was quiet and she placed her palm against his feeling the warmth radiate from his hand to hers. Hers was much smaller than his and her fingers looked delicate in comparison to his large ones. Just like how they were from different worlds but they somehow fit.
He caressed her fingers and she continued to focus on the night sky with its millions of stars.
"Do you ever wish you could walk?" she asked softly just listening to their breaths.
He was quiet for awhile before he answered.
"Sometimes"
Kiarra turned to look at him.
"Before you came along sure but not for the right reasons. It was mostly to prove people wrong." he rubbed his hand along her stomach. " Now it would just be give certain things to you" he replied. His deep smooth voice was soothing to ears. She knew he meant dancing and other simple things but she didn't care for it.
"I-I'm fine without all of those things." she focused on his green eyes in the night.
"Yes but still." he wrapped both hands around her waist.
The water rippled around them as they continued to drift.
"Thank you."
"For what?" Kiarra queried.
"For not judging me for what I can't change."
If she'd judged him for his legs then they would have never have gotten here. The thought of ever losing her made him hold her even closer watching her frame stretched out against his, her legs looped across his legs. Yet there was a nagging feeling at the back of his head and he whispered a silent prayer against her hair closing his eyes.
Don't ever leave me.
That night, when they finally went home and Kiarra was getting ready for bed. She could have sworn she saw something move outside their window. But she coughed it up to her being sleepy and drew the curtains, eagerly diving into bed.
