BLAKE

The walk into the cell has horrid, mainly because of the smell.

The smell of blood and rotten corpses filled my nose, making Axel grunt out.

“Does anyone clean up in here?” He asks.

“I know a few people clean up after we torture rogues and that, but I don’t know how many times it gets done,” I say to him.

“It still hasn’t been done since mate’s dad killed that bitch who tore mate’s family apart,” he says.

I stop in my tracks as the image of Linda comes flooding back into memory. Her voice was full of anger towards Izzy. She wanted to make Lucy suffer, not caring if she hurt anyone else, which also included her children.

“Blake,” calls my father as he stands outside a cell gate. Tilly is glaring inside the cell, but she turns to look at me at the mention of my name.

I walk up to the cell and look inside, the Elder from earlier. He was sitting on the bench looking at all three of us, and he was looking smugly for himself. His eyes go from yellow to brown; he must have fought with his wolf.

Axel can sense the shift in the air as he stands to attention; something doesn’t feel right.

“Well, alpha, what do you want?” He growls out, “You have no authority over me; you will pay for putting me in here.”

He stares at me. “You think that Elder Johnson cares about that young bitch?” he says.

I use my wolf speed and open the door, which flies off the hinges, and I grab him by the neck. I slam him up against the wall, hard.

“You speak about…” I say through clenched teeth. I was having trouble controlling my anger.

The Elder laughs. “You what?” He says with a gasp, but a smirk clearing on his face. He was enjoying this. “You do what? I already lost everyone I loved, and I have nothing left.”

I stared at him. I searched his eyes for something, but there was nothing. “He’s under a spell,” says Axel with a growl.

I growl out. “Why were you sent here?” I ask as I squeeze slightly tighter around his neck.

He gasps slightly.

“I was supposed to grab the little panther bitch,” he says, stumbling slightly. I loosen my grip but leave my hand around his neck.

“You know that was a death sentence,” says Tilly, who comes inside the cell and stands to the one side of me.

I could feel my father close by too, on the other side.

“Izzy would have killed you,” she said. “You want to die at the hands of the panther.”

The Elder growls. “She is nothing; she is weak,” he says.

My father places his hand on my shoulder. I squeeze again but loosen it just a little as we need more answers. I can tell he was having difficulty controlling his wolf like I was with Axel.

Axel growls in my head. “He disrespects, mate.” I can sense him trying to push forward. He wants this Elder’s head.

“Why take the child?” asks my father through clenched teeth. “She has no power.”

The Elder turns to him; he smirks. “You are one stupid alpha. I can feel the power radiating off her, and she is like her mother.”

I lose control, as I can sense Axel trying to change my fingers into his claws. He wants to rip his throat out.

“Not yet,” I shout to him. “We need to know why they want Allie.”

Axel slightly pulls back, but he is close by as he is ready to kill. The Elder disrespected our mate and wanted to take Allie, our cub, away from us.

“Why do they want the child for?” Asked Tilly, glaring at him.

I notice silver out of the corner of my eye; I glance down and see that Tilly has a blade pressed against the Elders abdomen. He grits his teeth and hisses as she presses it closer to his skin. The burning of flesh hits my nose hard, but I stay in control. His eyes close because of the pain.

“Why?” I roar, trying to get his attention back.

His eyes fly open, and I can feel my alpha aura slip through. Axel wants answers and will make the Elder speak one way or another even if he has to submit to us.

The Elder growls but turns his neck to me in submission, “They want to use the child to control all supernatural beings. They think they can control her as she is young, and she will listen to them in time,” he says through clenched teeth. “They know they cannot control the mother. They will try to take the child instead.”

“THAT WON’T HAPPEN,” I say with a loud growl as I move my other hand to the middle and turn it into a fist and punch him straight in his gut.

The Elder grunts out, but my hand holds him in place on his throat.

“What about the hybrid?” Asked my father.

I watch as the Elder’s eyes go wide. “Hybrid?” He says in a surprise. “How do you know about that abomination?”

I squeeze his throat tighter. “What did you just say?” I yell in his face.

I know the boy is a hybrid, but you never call anyone that; they can’t help who their parents are mated to; It is all part of a plan.

“The hybrid,” he says. “The vampires think they can change him into a monster, a killing machine.” He chokes slightly at the pressure I have on his throat. I tighten it slightly.

“Can you imagine what a monster that abomination would be? He would wipe out the whole of the wolf and other supernatural population and with the powerful young panther by his side,” he says as he smirks. “They will be unstoppable. Not even that pathetic mother panther will stop them.”

I have had enough of this piece of shit.

“Are we done with him now?” I say through gritted teeth, through the mind link I opened to my father.

I was met with silence.

I look over to my left side, and pure anger is written all over his face. He looks at me and nods, saying nothing.

I can feel Tilly’s hand on my arm. I turn to look at her, and she nods as we are in a silent agreement.

We are done with him.

“I hope you like hell because that’s where you are going,” I say, and Axel’s claws come out, and we rip out his throat.

Blood splutters over me as I let go of him, and his lifeless body drops to the floor.

I stare down at the corpse.

“We need to prepare,” says my father. “We will protect Allie and that hybrid. They can not get their hands on them.”

I look up at him, “You’re right; I need to get a shower, and I need to replace my mate. I need to tell her what happened here,” I say, but frown. “She is going to be pissed that they are targeting Allie and the hybrid.”

“Well, I will make sure the other council members know what is going on and also Blake,” Tilly says as she places her hand on my arm.

I turn to look at her, but she has a strange expression on her face. “Make sure Izzy knows, but I think you both need to make up, as we are going to need both of you on the same page.”

I nod, and I turn to leave.

My father and Tilly stayed behind, but I could feel their eyes on me as I left the cell.

I walk straight out of the cells. I ran straight in through the pack house, avoiding everyone in my path, and headed straight into the room I stayed in last night.

I need to shower.

I can’t see Izzy with all this blood all over me.

I opened the door and closed it behind me, and there were some new fresh clothes on the dressing table waiting for me. My father must have told my mother to get me fresh clothes.

I strip and throw my clothes into the basket. They probably won’t be worth washing, as wolf’s blood is hard to get off, especially rogues, but I have no clue about elders.

I walked straight into the closet, grabbed a towel, headed into the bathroom, and switched on the shower. I walked in and washed everywhere. I had blood in my ears.

I was in the shower for a half-hour. I cleaned the blood off quickly, but I was leaning against the shower tiles. I needed to clear my head.

Izzy was right. The vampires wanted the hybrid for something, but now I know why; I don’t know what to do with him. I would kill him if it were me, but I know Izzy won’t. I have to think about what to do, but the war is still looming over us and not far away. But the thought of the vampires wanting Allie makes my stomach turn. I can’t help but my fists clench, and I punch the tile wall.

Blood drips into the water as I watch it cascade down.

“They won’t have pup,” says Axel with a growl. “I will kill every single one of them before they ever come near her.” He places an image of Izzy in my head, which makes me calm slightly.

I need my mate.

Tilly is right. Izzy and I need to agree, and I need to see her.

I have missed her.

I groan out as Axel yawns back at me.

I switch the shower off and grab the towel, wrapping it around my waist. I walk out, but as soon as I step into the bedroom, there’s a knock on the door.

Axel stirs and sniffs, but he is up like a button.

“Mate,” he says. I stop and stare at the door. Izzy is on the other side.

My heart beats harder in my chest.

I walked over to the door and opened it, and there she was, standing in front of me. But something was up. I could feel Puna close to the surface.

I look at Axel, who is drooling like a love-sick puppy. “What the hell, man?” I say to him. “Calm yourself down, you horny dog.” But when I stare back at Izzy, I can feel my cock harden underneath the towel.

She is one hot woman. She gulps but stares at me, but I soon realize she checks me out.

I can’t help but smirk.

“Mate wants us,” Axel says with a groan.

I move to the side. “Izzy, are you going to come in?” I ask, still staring at her.

Izzy walks in, and I close the door behind her, but Izzy is standing right in front of me when I look up. Her eyes are full of lust and want.

“Mate,” is all I hear as she slams me into the door and her lips go straight to mine.

Fuck.
