Trapped I can't escape from the Billionaire -
Chapter 49
Desi immediately extended her hand and knocked on Letta's bedroom door, followed by a servant carrying a tray of food for Letta.
"Madam, are you in there? I've brought your meal,” Desi said. Silence ensued for a moment before Desi knocked on the door again. Still, Letta didn't respond at all, prompting Desi to try to glance at the servant beside her before slowly pushing the door open.
Desi peered into the spacious room, but what felt odd was that she didn't sense anyone inside. Desi entered further, and indeed, Letta was not in the room. Desi looked around.
"Perhaps Madam is in the bathroom," another servant suggested. Desi attempted to check the bathroom, but it too was empty. The dressing room was also devoid of Letta. Desi began to feel that something was amiss, her face displaying a sense of panic.
"Summon the other servants and search the area around the house. If you don't replace her within ten minutes, report back to me immediately," Desi said, causing the other servant to swiftly inform the rest. Desi herself would search around the house before reporting to Marco.
The panicked household staff searched every corner of the vast mansion. After ten minutes, they regrouped in the main hall to meet Desi.
"We couldn't replace Madam in the library, the back room, the living room, or any other room," one of the leading servants in the search reported, causing Desi to start feeling anxious.
"Are you sure you've checked thoroughly?" Desi asked, to which the servant nodded. Having no other option, Desi chose to inform Marco. She returned to the garden where the wedding party was being held, and she saw Marco engrossed in conversation with some other guests who seemed to be enjoying the party atmosphere.
"Sir, I apologize for interrupting your conversation,” Desi whispered, causing Marco to furrow his brow.
"What's going on? Can't you see I'm in the middle of something?" Marco said.
"I'm sorry, sir, but this is urgent,” Desi replied, making Marco sigh in frustration.
"Enjoy the party again. I have important business to attend to," Marco said, leaving the two peers before following Desi's lead to a secluded corner of the garden.
"What's wrong?" Marco asked, noticing the panicked expression on Desi's face.
"I apologize, sir. I'm truly sorry. It might be due to my carelessness,” Desi said, lowering her gaze.
"Just get to the point, Desi. I don't have much time; there are still many guests I haven't greeted," Marco said.

"Madam Letta is missing, sir,” Desi said, causing Marco to furrow his brow even more.
"What do you mean?" Marco asked, making sure, to which Desi nodded.
"How could she go missing? Didn't I instruct you earlier to keep an eye on her and attend to her needs?" Marco said.
"I apologize once again, sir. When I left Madam to prepare her meal, upon returning to the room, she was nowhere to be found. I searched for her immediately, but she was nowhere to be seen. If she truly left the premises, she couldn't have gone too far from the vicinity," Desi said, recalling that Marco's large mansion was quite isolated from the other buildings in the area. If Letta had walked to the main road, it would have taken her quite a long time.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Quickly instruct the others to search for Letta," Marco said, causing Desi to nod before hastily instructing several servants and the estate guards to search for Letta. Marco couldn't fathom what might be going through her mind for her to have the ludicrous idea of running away from the house. He rubbed his face roughly, not escaping the notice of Arabella, who promptly approached him.
"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" Arabella asked, to which Marco let out a long sigh.
"Well, a little problem," Marco said, allowing Arabella to extend her hand and gently rub his arm.
"Letta has fled from this house. I don't know why she had that ludicrous idea on her wedding day. If she wanted to escape, she could have done it long ago, right from the first day I brought her here," Marco said, feeling a bit puzzled. Meanwhile, Arabella, somehow, seemed to understand the reason behind Letta's departure from Marco's house. Arabella merely pursed her lips, barely noticeable to Marco.
"It seems she's not that foolish after all," Arabella mumbled under her breath.
"Did you say something?" Marco asked, causing Arabella to shake her head.
"No, you'd better instruct your servants and men to search for Letta. You wouldn't want anything to happen to that woman, especially with the baby she's carrying," Arabella said, prompting Marco to nod.
"Yes, I've instructed Pedro to handle everything. I hope she hasn't gone too far," Marco said, making Arabella nod. Arabella then chose to lead Marco to converse with the other guests. However, for some reason, Marco was truly not focused on what he was doing at that moment. Marco eventually approached Arabella.
"I'll leave you to chat with the other guests. I'll be out for a moment," Marco said without waiting for Arabella's response, as he left abruptly. He headed inside the house, asking the guards to give him his car keys. After receiving the keys, he walked towards the garage and sped off in his sports car from the luxurious mansion he currently resided in.
Even the guards Marco instructed to search for Letta had yet to return. Could Letta really have gone far from the vicinity of the house, Marco wondered. If so, it would be slightly challenging to replace her. She certainly wasn't foolish enough to hide in plain sight. What intrigued Marco was the reason Letta left the house on her wedding day. There must be something that prompted her to flee, Marco speculated.
