Twisting Her Fate
Chapter 16

Leilani watches Gabriel from afar, his blonde hair is now hitting the collar of his shirt, he looks like a gentle scumbag, but Leilani is well aware that it is a facade. He is really a brutal scumbag.

Back then, he was the most handsome man she had ever seen. Looking at him now, she is not sure what she saw at all. She never had a crush on the man. She just appreciated his beauty. Now that she has been out and seen the world, she is not sure how she ever Is it when she was wading through a field full of sh*t the toilet brush looked appealing?

thought that way.

Or is it that anyone compared to Connor and even her brothers no one can never measure up?

Gabriel gestures to the pack house.

"Shall we go inside?"

Leilani: 'Do it, there is no cover out here, I am too far away'

Finlay looks at Gabriel nodding and stepping forward, the other boys drop in behind in a v formation, they are always ready to run and ready to fight, especially when Leilani is not within grasp and, technically, sneaking around. The group are ready to jump into action and get to Leilani's location at any moment.

Leilani falls back and moves around the house, even though it has been over seven years the layout of this place is burned into her memories. Getting in and around is easy for the girl, who spent half the time mapping out the easy escapes so that she could avoid contact, which in turn avoided abuse. As Leilani enters an open window, she slips in and walks through the house with light footsteps. She passes her old bedroom, pausing momentarily. She can't help but open the door, sneering at the spotlessly clean cleaning cupboard with new equipment. There is no sign that she was ever there at all.

She wiped the half moon pack out of her life and the half moon pack wiped any sign of her existence.

She is not sure what she was expecting; a monument to her turmoil? Her old tattered mattress? The clean room is not in accordance with the pain and suffering, the clean and bright surfaces don't show the darkness that filled her life back then.

The fact that they actually renovated a cupboard is just laughable. She didn't deserve a bedroom, but after she left, the old shelves that looked like they were going to crush her to death while she slept even had to be changed out. Like the cleaning fluids deserved a better room than she did, once she left, they were able to get the upgrade.

Or maybe, like Maggie said, the pack thought that everywhere she went needed disinfecting, like she had tainted the room by sleeping in it.

Leilani resists the urge to slam the door, taking a deep breath to compose herself and pressing the door shut quietly. She thought it was all behind her, but as she looks around she no longer feels sad, she just feels angry, she would love nothing more than to seek some revenge, to see how much Maggie enjoys having her head slammed into a wall.

To intimidate Gabriel to the point that he fears for his life. To casually wave off the value of his life.

Leilani shakes her head and keeps moving toward the living room.

The group is sitting opposite Gabriel and Maggie.

"So what do you need from us?"

"I just want Alpha Storm to stand down before things get out of hand"

Finlay nods and looks at Maggie.

"You are sure of your decision?"

They have to make sure she isn't getting forced into anything.

"Of course I am sure, how could he compare to Gabriel and how could the Stormy pack compare to the Half Moon pack?"

Leilani sneers, she would bet any money that if the stormy pack was bigger that Maggie would drop her so-called love and run off into the sunset.

Leilani stretches her neck slightly, there is something that is making her incredibly uncomfortable and she cannot work out what it is.

"Well, we will talk to Alpha Storm tomorrow and see what his side is"

"It doesn't matter what his side is, the lady has made her decision. Maybe he shouldn't be the leader of such a pathetic pack if he had the intention of taking a woman from me" Posted by Ebookex.com; visit us for more free novels. Madden: 'This guy is beyond arrogant'

Hudson: 'And misinformed'

Hudson did his research on the trip over and while the half moon pack has been steady over the years and even showing a slight decline, the Stormy pack has been on an upward trajectory. It is just that the ranking of the packs are only released three yearly and it is nearly time for the next release. Gabriel is correct from the old figures, but three years can change a lot of things. Arlo: 'Do we tell the gold digger that?'

Finlay: 'It is not our place to guide her, we will talk to Alpha Storm tomorrow and if he really wants to win her over, he can try that tact'

Leilani's sense of unease keeps growing.

Leilani: 'Do you guys smell something strange?'

The five take a collective breath in.

All: 'Nope'

Leilani takes one step forward, her wolf surges and her nostrils fill with the most delectable scent. She recoils in shock as she looks at Gabriel. Only one word fills her mind. MINE.

Leilani's hands shake as she stumbles slightly, crashing into a wall in her hurry to escape. Her brothers look in the direction of the noise with a frown, but there are no other scents, Leilani is alone.

Gabriel and Maggie are too wrapped up in each other to notice a thing.

Leilani shudders and her wolf surges forward as she crashes backward. No, no, no, this cannot be happening. Lani half falls out the window, dragging herself up against the wall as she wobbles, trying to steady herself.

"I need you to be with me, please don't fight me on this"

Her body stabilizes as her wolf stops fighting her, she regains a small bit of clarity in her blurry mind, taking off her clothes and shifting, she grabs her clothes in her mouth and runs, managing to escape the pack lands undetected. She just runs and runs, trying to escape the massive blow that reality just dealt her.

Finlay glances at the others.

"Alpha Hutchins, we will contact you tomorrow after our meeting with Alpha storm"

"What time are you meeting him?"

"Ten in the morning"

Gabriel nods and he and Maggie walk the boys out to their car. Finlay opens the door and peers in, seeing no sign of Leilani.

Finlay: 'Lani are you okay?'

There is no answer and they know she has blocked them.

"I am sure Alpha Hutchins won't mind if we go for a run to leave?"

Gabriel looks at them skeptically but can only nod.

Finlay: 'Hudson, you drive off the pack lands, the rest of us track her down'

Finlay wasn't expecting the visit to hit Lani so hard. He wouldn't have bought her along if he knew, but what was the instigator? Gabriel didn't say anything that could be deemed offensive. Maggie didn't say anything. Did she see something?

The boys quickly disrobe, throwing their clothes in the vehicle under the stunned eyes of Maggie, four large wolves lurch forward without a glance at the couple, moving in formation around the pack house until they pick up her scent and running straight out of the pack. "Those guys are strange"

Maggie looks in the direction that they had left.

"They are hot"

Gabriel smiles a cruel smile.

"Why do you want all five of them at once?"

Maggie laughs and Gabriel picks her up and takes her into the house to punish her in their favourite way. He stops dead in his tracks when he smells the faint smell of a scent that he thought he would never smell again.

Gabriel shakes his head, it must just be his imagination, she is dead. Unless her ghost is haunting the house, Gabriel sneers to himself, Leilani was so much of a plague that sounds likely. He shakes it off as he walks to his room. Hudson speeds the car off the pack lands and parks in a safe space before ditching his own clothes and heading in the direction of the others.

Levi: 'Lani please'

Leilani: 'I am fine, I just want to be alone'

Levi: 'Talk to us'

Lani just puts up the block and the boys can only follow her trail. The dusk turns to night as the five wolves follow the trail. Madden is the most talented tracker, so he leads the group. He moves his head to signal the others as they all slow. In a small clearing surrounded by a thick shroud of trees overlooking a small lake, the water glitters with the reflection of the large moon that shines overhead, the moonlight captures the pure white fur of the lone she wolf that looks smaller than usual in the vastness of the surroundings.

The white wolf is a glowing and glittering ethereal sight in the darkness of the world. The five wolves approach slowly and surely, surrounding her body as they lay beside her, infusing her with their heat and their strength. No matter how hurt she is or how alone she feels, no matter how empty she feels, she will always have her brothers.
