"Well, I didn't get far into my plan, as you can tell, since, as you all thought it was so funny how I presented the first part of my plan, I didn't get much further than a failed seduction." "You are the queen of seduction Lani. After all, you turned up looking homeless and still got the man"

Lani laughs as she glares at Hudson. Connor's arms tighten around Lani at the thought of her walking into seduce any random alpha. Even looking like she does at the moment, unkempt and slightly haggard. Lani at her worst is still more beautiful than a lot at their best. Are there many that could say no? Only Gabriel, with his head so far stuffed up his own a*s, couldn't see the value.

He has never been so glad that the office door she opened this morning was his own.

"So beyond that, since I am successfully seduced and definitely want your body"

Leilani elbows Conner in the ribs and he snorts in pain with a bright smile on his face, his steel gray eyes hold a sparkle that they rarely ever hold.

"It might be a bit of a make-it-up as we go along type of deal, I am thinking that you boys can head back for a meeting with the half moon...."

Leilani turns back to face Connor.

"I need to know if you are with me on this and your end game isn't to end up with Maggie. If you want to do that, I may be wrecking all your chances with her"

"If I haven't made myself clear already, I have no interest in Maggie, I only want YOU"

Lani's lips brush against Connor's before she turns back to the group.

"Tell Maggie that Connor came to his senses and is not interested, maybe in a more diplomatic way"

"Tell her that Connor has found someone a thousand times better"

"A million times better"

Leilani laughs, fluffing her dirty hair in a hauty way with a smile on her face, the confidence that she has been lacking in the last twenty-four hours is starting to return. "Not helpful, but correct"

The room erupts into laughter.

"Okay, let's use every trick in any movie, book or real life scenario, we need masking spray that is strong enough to mask the mate scent. Gabriel will assume that I am dead, but his mate might just start haunting him and what happens to a woman as selfish as Maggie when Conner decides he doesn't care about the bond and then starts having frequent s*x that she can feel every bit of"

Connor interrupts with a smirk on his face.

"Have I told you how much I like this plan?"

"Why? I was volunteering one of the boys not me"

Connor looks in shock until the group starts laughing.

"That is another thing. Do you remember that first night?"

"How could I forget?"

"I meant the serum the other pack used so their mates didn't know?"

Connor nods.

"If they both feel it at the same time all the time, they will know to come to the stormy pack"

Finlay interrupts.

"Will Gabriel feel it? He hasn't seen you"

"I felt his. I can only assume that it will be reciprocated, but we can test the theory when you are meeting with him, but in the case that he can, we need the serum and we need a fair bit. Do you know a supplier?" Connor grits his teeth with a sheepish smile on his face.

"I know the source" "As in the actual source?"

"Yeah, umm when I was young I met this homeless warlock. In a lot of the covens the males born are cast out. It is the opposite of the werewolf world, where the men rule supreme. Males are undervalued and often killed. So I got him settled in a small house at the edge of the pack. We became good friends. He had hardly any magic but he was a whizz with potions. Still is. My father knew about him and went to him with a problem. My parents bond was incredibly strong and when mum was pregnant, she suffered with chronic fatigue and nausea. She barely had enough energy to get out of bed on a good day. My dad had needs, so he tried to m*sturbate, but my mother could even feel that and then would get all guilty that she wasn't fulfilling some duty that she thought she had and then they both ended up in a pile of guilt. "How is something that is used for so much bad now, stemmed from a strange but somewhat sweet intention?"

"Well, I don't approve of its use now, but there will always be another way, so Terrance might as well make money out of it from people that are stupid enough to spend it. It doesn't cost much to make, but Terrance puts a large scumbag tax which makes it astronomical and people still buy it. He has made it so the ingredients are undefinable so it cannot be replicated"

"So you can talk him around to supplying us with some?"

"He will love this plan"

"I want this done as soon as possible, I want Gabriel to hurt, Levi, you and Connor go to Terrance. The rest of us get prepared. By the afternoon I want the squad to be breaking the news to Maggie"

It is not that Leilani never held ideas of revenge for the hurt caused before, or as she got stronger she thought about putting these new skills to good use by pummeling her tormentors, but truthfully she ended up with more after leaving, so she truly just wanted to leave the past in the past. But after her discovery, there is no way she can let this slide. This is no desperate attempt to gain Gabriel's attention. She wants him to know that she did survive and she is going to be better than anything she could have been around him. It won't make him regret by being petty and jealous. The only way to make him regret is to live better, to love harder, to surround herself with the people that matter.

Gabriel thought that he was too good for her?

F*ck him, Leilani is too good for him by a thousand miles.

The five stand up and walk out of the meeting room, giving Connor and Leilani a bit of much needed privacy.

"So does that mean we're at the stage where our relationship when we are scheduling in s*x for this afternoon?"

"I am pretty monotonous, aren't I?"

"I think it is the most exciting thing I've ever scheduled into my diary"

"You are seriously going to schedule it?"

Connor grabs his phone out of his pocket, Leilani laughs and shakes her head.

"Don't you do it"

Connor smiles, lifting his phone closer to his face.

"Okay Google, set Calendar entry for 4.p.m today"

A robotic voice replies.

"What is the title of the event?"

"Have s*x"

Connor kisses Leilani on the lips and runs away, chuckling heavily in the process.

"Looking forward to it babe"

Leilani can't help but laugh as she watches his receding figure run away. It is a side of Connor that she never imagined.

Her wolf that has been fighting her from the first moment that she smelt Gabriel settles completely. A wolf's requirements for a male is not excessive, a strong and suitable mate, and while Gabriel was destined to her wolf. Connor is more than just a substitute. He is an improvement. A mate is simple in her wolf's mind, Connor can provide and protect.

The human side is the one that has more requirements, it is the human side that wants love, loyalty, chemistry, laughter, security, pleasure.

As Leilani watches Connor's back, she can only think that the moon goddess was wrong. The goddess chose someone like Gabriel to be her mate. If Leilani had the choice herself, she would make someone like Connor her mate.

Conner stops on the grass in the front of the house.

"Well, which one of you is Levi?"

Levi steps forward.

"Since we are going to be allies you should know our names"

Levi introduces the group to Connor and Connor shakes their hands one by one until he gets to the last hand. Finlay grips his hand and the others surround Connor in a near aggressive way, but Connor doesn't bend or bow, his steel gray eyes meeting Finlay's silver eyes. Connor is slightly taller than the five, but being surrounded by the five, he looks small.

"We are entrusting you with our Lani, this is not like the one night stand, feelings will be in play, time is the enemy here, she will fall for you, I have no doubt that it will only be a matter of time"

A small smile plays on Connor's lips.

"Don't be so smug yet, you better be going in with pure intentions, you better not be trying to use her as a stepping stone, you better not be playing, because if you win, if you think you can successfully break her heart and walk away with Maggie into the sunset, just know the reward at the end of your game is her five brothers waiting to hang, draw and quarter you. We will offer your pieces to Leilani as penance and to prove our loyalty to her"
