Twisting Her Fate -
Chapter 97
Leilani's fingers curl slowly in the silken quilt cover as she forces her sleeping wolf forward, all the aura and power she has been hiding away spills out like a burst dam, flooding the room with its intensity.
Her whole body and her wolf working in unison to fight off whatever is in her system, she needs to be back at her best. As the sounds continue, she wants to fight, she wants to save the girl who is begging so helplessly. The sound cuts her deep. She forces her neck to move, her head falling to the side, her cheek resting down on her golden blonde hair as she stares at the room, a prickle of disgust running through her as she views the Barbie-pink walls. Set against the walls is a white dressing table adorned with a large mirror which only reflects her helpless stationary state. The dressing table is filled with makeup and hair products. Everything a girl could want if she wasn't locked in a dungeon. A white reading chair in the corner with a small bookshelf next to it, from the titles on the shelf they all seem to be sappy love stories. Dolls are lined up on top of the bookshelf complete with small brushes and hair styling tools and outfits for the toys.
The bed she is on is a white four poster bed with light pink fabric draped over in a luxurious fashion.
On the other wall is a white clothes stand. The hangers on the stand are filled with all sorts of princess-style dresses.
Leilani gags, this is sickening, the whole room is so disturbing that she feels like shredding the place. Slowly she lifts one elbow at a time as she glares at the interior of the room, like her heated glare will incinerate the decor so she never has to view something so vile again.
Slowly, one knee lifts off the bed before she works on the other. Finally, she gets all her limbs to a semi-functioning state. She drags her eyes away from the room and just concentrates on her body, willing herself to sit up. She literally throws her upper body into sitting position, resembling a ragdoll as her upper body sways, threatening to topple over and throw her off the bed at any second.
Leilani just glares and the silken quilt covers under her as she throws her shoulders and manages to prop her hands on either side of her body, adding strength to her posture. Golden blonde hair cascades down each side of her face, acting like a curtain to block out the depravity of this room.
She can't help but think that she actually likes the rooms on the twentieth floor better. At least they are made to show exactly what they are. What is with all the little girl decorations, it is revolting. Disgust surges through her as she straightens her neck, glaring at the slight gap below the only door out of the room.
The screams are starting to die out and Lani can only push back all her deep sadness and feelings of guilt as she lets the anger surge.
Leilani slightly swivels on the spot, letting her legs flop off the bed. Anyone else would be out for another day and a half but Lani's willpower is enough to fight off the effects of the serum.
Lani shifts the other leg to the ground, throwing her upper body back so she doesn't end up tipping forward and sprawling on the ground, gritting her teeth furiously as she tries to feel the ground under her feet, trying hard to apply pressure. Her body is not painful, it is just excruciating fighting off the extreme numbness that has taken her over.
Gone are her calming thoughts of Connor, replaced with specific incidences within her training. "I can do this"
Even Lani's voice is feeble as she forces her upper body back up, forcing herself to stand on two feet, forcing herself not to brace against the bed. The girl looks completely out of place in the room, the soft golden hair cascades around her, the gentle colors of her dress are out of place in the over-the-top room.
But everything is overshadowed by the murderous aura exuding from the girl, her lips set in a grimace, showing a small line of white teeth that are clenched tightly, fierce determination on her face and her eyes burn with the threat of violence as she stares at the pink wall, shaking out every muscle in her body forcing the numb limbs back into her control with sheer will.
Her head turns toward the door as she takes one tentative step after the other, her fists clenched at her sides so tightly that her fingernails are drawing blood from her palm, her teeth clenched so tightly that they are starting the creak under the pressure. Lani tries to link her brothers but her head is still frighteningly silent, all she can hear is her own soft footfalls and faint whimpering coming from outside the door.

The warrior looks at Maggie's unconscious figure long after Connor has left and finally grabs her, shoving her into the back seat of the car before driving toward the Amber pack, just hoping that the woman stays unconscious long enough for him to deliver her to her birth pack. He has no interest in dealing with a screeching banshee while trying to operate a vehicle.
He arrives at the border of the Amber pack and the border patrol greets him before he explains the situation and the border patrol can only link Oscar as Simon has still not returned to the pack.
Oscar is still trying to work out how to process all this information. He is unsure whether to comfort his mother further or hunt down Simon this instant and put an end to Simon's miserable existence in the cruelest and most drawn out way possible. 'Future Alpha, someone from the stormy pack has Maggie in the back of his car. She doesn't look the best, but the warrior said she was just rejected and that there is nothing actually physically wrong with her'
Oscar scowls. This girl that he has considered a sister all his life, she is the seed of that demon. Her mother was the one that took his real sister from him. While he can understand why Rose did what she did and he is thankful that Cora didn't die that day, it is hard to forgive a woman that could separate an already grieving woman from her daughter like that.
Rose left Cora on the border, but what became of her after that? Oscar doesn't know the full story and it kills him a little. He wants to know exactly what Leilani went through to get to this point, he wants to understand her or maybe he just wants to feed his guilt further. Maggie might know more, even though he is sure it would be a one-sided view from a person with a personality that is about has pleasant as a dumpster.
'I will be right there'
Oscar gives his mother's shoulder one more squeeze before taking off at a run toward the main entrance of the pack.
Astrid is still collapsed on the floor, her eyes just staring at the dust-covered floor as the never ending torrent of tears just keeps pouring. She doesn't feel Oscar's hand on her, she doesn't hear his footsteps slowly disappear, she has no idea that he has left the cabin, even the knowledge that he was beside her has slipped her mind.
Oscar doesn't even bother to shift, the cabin is actually surprisingly close to the road, probably how Simon got away with his little visits to his mistress. Oscar clenches his fists. How is it possible for one man to do so much wrong?
The stormy pack warrior just waits where he is until Oscar comes into view. He gets out of the car and opens the rear door. Oscar grabs out Maggie, his movements a lot harsher than they should be. He knows that it is not technically her fault and she also has had wrong done by her. Maggie was too young to have any say in her mother's or father's actions. Oscar knows he shouldn't take it out on her, but as he stares down at the made-up face he can't help the level of despise that is rising rapidly. Maggie has lived a blessed life that should have never been hers, taking the place of his real sister. She got to bask in all the good things while he was sent away. She got a mother's love when her real mother was a monster.
Oscar hits Maggie's face to wake her up. He tries hard to control his strength, just trying to rouse the girl. The violence should only be directed at Simon, but the things that he thought were unfair before are now like knives stabbing him. Every wrong that Simon has committed against him while Maggie just got to chuckle about it and look the other way. The way she always made light of Simon's lack of affection for him, the way she always laughed about Simon's insane possessiveness about anything relating to his mother. Oscar stares down at Maggie's face. Did she know?
He assumes that she didn't but all the words over the years, he is starting to second guess everything.
All the brotherly affection has faded out as quickly as he read the letter, by the time he read the name Rose, all of the good feelings he had toward Maggie have disappeared.
"Maggie"
Slowly, Maggie opens her Hazel eyes, looking up at Oscar with a pained look on her face, seeking all the comfort and reassurance that Oscar would usually provide. "Good you are finally awake"
Maggie narrows her eyes slightly at the harsh tone from her brother as he carries her forward with quick steps. Oscar doesn't look down at her at all, all she can see is the slight stubble growing on his hardened jaw. His usually bright and doting eyes showing nothing but hatred as memory after memory of the past floods his mind.
