Tiffany's hand shook, and her keys dropped to the ground. She asked with a quivering voice, "What happened to Teri?"

"Come quickly. You won't be able to see her anymore if you come any later." Eric sounded anxious and hung up in a hurry after saying that.

Tiffany rushed to the hospital and saw Eric sitting on a bench in front of the emergency room. His head was hung low. He looked like he had made a huge mistake. Tiffany walked over and asked, "Eric, where is Teri?"

Eric looked up and pointed at the emergency room with his chin.

Tiffany pressed against the door but could see nothing. She was worried, so she asked again, "What happened to Teri?"

"No nothing... Eric avoided her gaze. "We had an argument, and..."

"You hit her?" Tiffany smelled the strong odor of alcohol on him. Her eyes widened, filling with hatred.

"No No... I just pushed her, and the back of her head happened to hit the handle of the cabinet. She bled a little, and she should be fine-"

"Should be?" Tiffany was so angry that her whole body was shaking. "If anything happens to Teri, I will never forgive you!"

Eric was stunned. He had never seen Tiffany act like this before, so he was shocked.

The doors of the emergency room opened at this moment, and the nurse pushed a hospital bed out.

Tiffany was the first to rush up. She almost cried when she saw Teresa. The latter's face was pale, and her eyes were closed.

"Doctor, how's my sister?" Tiffany subconsciously spoke softer.

"Luckily, she was brought here in time, and the vital parts are not hurt. Just a slight difference, and she may not have been so lucky. She's fine now. We'll just need to wait for her to wake up." "Thank you." Tiffany thanked the doctor and shivered with fear. Teresa was her only family in this world. She wouldn't be able to live as well if she lost her.

She did not want to experience the fear and helplessness of waiting outside the emergency room again in this life.

"Luckily, she is fine." Eric was also relieved. "I told you she will be fine. It's just a knock-"

Tiffany turned to glare at him. Eric felt guilty and said nothing more. He just went up to push the hospital bed.

Tiffany did everything by herself in the ward. She drove Eric away whenever he wanted to get close. After wiping Teresa's face and hands, she looked at her sleeping face and felt like crying. When she turned around and saw Eric sleeping and snoring on the sofa, she bit her lip and made a decision.

Tiffany watched over Teresa for the whole night. The next morning, she felt a hand stroking her head gently. She opened her eyes and met Teresa's gentle eyes.

"Teri," Tiffany called out as she held Teresa's hand. "You're awake? Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something? I'll go buy it."

Teresa shook her head. "Why are you here?"

"Eric called me.

Just then, Eric walked in with breakfast in his hand. "Teri, are you awake? I've bought you both breakfast. There are so many people in the bakery downstairs, and I was in the queue for ten minutes. Quick, have some." Tiffany didn't accept the breakfast he offered her.
