The room was silent. Tiffany lay unconscious on the bed as Vincent sat beside her. His nose had stopped bleeding, but there was blood all over his face and clothes. He looked ghastly, but his attention was on Tiffany. Alex had never seen such a look in his eyes.
Vincent stood up when Alex and Jacob entered the room. Then, he dragged Jacob over and said, "Check on her shoulder."
Jacob rubbed his nose. "Um... she's a woman. Shouldn't we wait until she's awake to ask her whether she's comfortable with that?"
Vincent frowned in displeasure. "I told you to check on her, so do it. Cut the crap."
Jacob had no choice but to step forward. Unfortunately, Tiffany was wearing a long-sleeved shirt. It had to be taken off at least on one side-so he could check her shoulder. Though a patient's gender meant nothing to a doctor, Jacob was still hesitant to do anything without Tiffany's or her family's express permission. She was a woman, after all. "Why are you still standing there? Start checking on her!" Vincent had always been easygoing; it was rare to see him so irritated.
It scared Jacob into action. He reached out with quavering hands. But as soon as he touched Tiffany's collar, he felt someone grab him by the back of his collar.
Vincent dragged him away and said, "I'll do it!"
Jacob was nonplussed. Vincent reached out to undo Tiffany's shirt. Then, he paused and turned around as something occurred to him.
He saw Jacob and Alex standing behind him as they watched him and Tiffany.
"Turn away," he said sternly.
Alex and Jacob were rendered speechless. They exchanged glances before turning away simultaneously.
Only then did Vincent relax. He slowly unbuttoned Tiffany's shirt and only recalled that he, too, was a man when he was halfway through. Wouldn't it be inappropriate for him to undress her?
But when he saw how her face was
ashen from the pain, he threw caution to the wind. He gritted his
teeth and undid the rest of the
buttons. Then, he supported her head with one hand as he

pain.
Vincent couldn't help blaming himself for making her end up like this.

He wouldn't have asked her to get his phone if he'd known she would've ended up like this from trying to help him. So what if he couldn't reach his phone? His heart was breaking at the sight of her like this.

He pulled the sheets over Tiffany to cover the rest of her body, revealing only her left arm and shoulder. Then, he told Jacob to turn around.
Jacob had just lifted Tiffany's arm to move it a little when Vincent said grimly, "Be more gentle."
Jacob faltered before nodding. He slowly moved Tiffany's arm as Vincent watched him closely. After performing all the necessary checks, Jacob sighed in relief. "Her bones aren't injured, so that's good." Vincent pulled the sheets over Tiffany's exposed arm and shoulder. "So, it's just a light injury?"
"Yeah. Alex needs to collect your medication with me, so I'll prescribe some ointment for her. It needs to be applied and massaged three times a day. She'll be fine in about two weeks." "Alright. You can go now."
Jacob and Alex exchanged another look before silently leaving the room. That was when they ran into Ivy.
She asked, "Did something happen to Mr. Lewis, Mr. Zander? Isn't this already Dr. Harvey's second time up here today?"
Alex glanced at her. "Everything's fine."
Then, he and Jacob left.
Ivy watched them leave. Then, she pulled out her phone to call Kelly.
