Brianna wept pitifully. Ivy sighed and said, "Mr. Lewis is the one who wants to fire you. What can I do about it? You only have yourself to blame, to be honest.

"How could you go to the wrong place when all I told you to do was deliver a document? You even ran right into Mr. Lewis. Who do you think is capable of saving you now?" Brianna almost burst into tears. Her intention had been to create a chance meeting with Vincent so she could leave him with an impression of her.

Yet, things had backfired on her-Vincent had ordered to terminate her.

She'd only been at work for half a day and had barely done anything! But she'd already bragged all over her social media about getting a job at Lewis Group.

If people were to replace out she'd been terminated after only half a day, she'd become a laughing stock.

"I know you have your ways, Ivy. I was just careless... If I'd known things would turn out like this, I would never have dared to do anything like that! I've already booked a table at an expensive restaurant to treat everyone to dinner tonight. "This job means a lot to me my boyfriend comes from a good family, so I'm worried his parents will look down on me. That's why I have to keep this job by all means.

"Please, Ivy. Could you help me think of something? Could you put in a good word for me with Mr. Lewis? I'll repay you if I get to stay, I swear!"

Ivy gave in to her begging. Suddenly, an idea occurred to her when she turned to Kelly.

She pulled Kelly closer and told Brianna, "Don't say I haven't done anything to help you. This is the person I told you about-Kelly Harrison, Mr. Lewis' wife-to-be." Brianna gave Kelly a surprised look. She'd seen Kelly speaking to Ivy from a distance.

Kelly exuded a sense of wealth because of how she was dressed in big brands from head to toe, but her appearance was far too ordinary to pique Brianna's interest. Even if Kelly was dressed in designer clothing, something was lacking in her demeanor and how she carried herself.

If Ivy hadn't mentioned anything, Brianna would never have guessed that Kelly was Vincent's lover.

Kelly smiled at the doubt in Brianna's eyes. She asked, "Is this the new intern?"

She sounded imperious and lofty. It was as if she was already the boss' wife.

Brianna hurriedly held out a hand. She lowered her head and said, "It's nice to meet you, Ms. Harrison. My name's Brianna Upshaw, and today's my first day as an intern. "I've heard about you from Ivy; I didn't expect to meet you in the flesh so soon. You're so elegant and classy."

Kelly knew Brianna was sucking up to her; there probably wasn't an inch of truth in her words. She had to say that Brianna's attitude did make her feel better, though.

"I don't work here anymore, so I can't

interfere in the company's

operations. That's why I can't help she said. To tell the truth, it wasn't that she didn't want to help-ske genuinely couldn't because Vincent wouldn't listen to her.

But when facing outsiders, she still had to put on an act and make it seem like she was being fair and just. She couldn't let anyone see through her.

"Even you won't put in a word for me?" Brianna looked crestfallen.

Was she really going to lose her job? How would she explain this to everyone? And how would she explain this to William?

Ivy pulled Kelly aside and said lowly, "You should help her, Kelly. Do you know who she is?"

"Who?"

"Tiffany's university dormmate. They used to be best friends, too."

Kelly was surprised. "She's Tiffany's friend?"

That was all the more reason for her not to stay.

Ivy explained, "They used to be friends, but they aren't anymore. I asked Brianna about it. It seems they fell out over a man. Apparently, Tiffany tried to steal her boyfriend. Brianna found out about it, and they had a big fight over it before falling out with each other."

Kelly's surprise grew. This time, she was also a little excited. "She tried to steal Brianna's boyfriend? That means she's a homewrecking vixen, isn't she? I can't believe it!"

Ivy sneered. "I told you Tiffany's just

pretending to be all innocent and naive. The more I see of her act, the more + want to rip her mask off. You should've seen how protective Mr. Lewis was of her. Ebookex

"I think it's good to keep Brianna around. She knows a lot of Tiffany's secrets and is more than willing to expose them. That way, everyone will know just how big a liar Tiffany is." Kelly thought about it. Then, she turned to Brianna. "Don't panic. I'll speak to Mr. Lewis about this."

"Really? God, thanks so much for this, Ms. Harrison!" Brianna said gratefully.
